  1. Amazingly, old Royce could actually be an upgrade for the Nats.
  2. It's not just on your end. It is all grey for me too.
  3. The Dodgers signed Pat Borders to a minor league contract.

  5. I say a weak yes. It's hard to say yes or no with Goose. He is definately in a grey area.
  6. My favorite player growing up was Pete Rose. I loved him. He was great. He played every game like it was game seven of the World Series and the last day of his life all at once. Unfortunately he also hustled off the field too. He broke the cardinal sin of Major League Baseaball. This is the act deemed so damaging to the game it is prominently posted in every looker room at every ballpark. Most players can probably repeat the rule word for word in their sleep. There is a reason gambling is the cardinal sin of baseball. In 1919 gambling almost destroyed the game. There have been cheaters and bad people in the game but those have never come close to ending MLB like gambling did. I vote NO on Pete Rose. I don't think he should ever be allowed in the Hall of Fame.
  7. Just signed up for EZ Supporter. Since I come here everyday and it is only $1 a month, it's definately worth it.
  8. Opps. There is only one letter between the "o" and the "u." I went for the wrong one.
  9. Maybe reuniting with Maddox will help him emerge as a good reliever.
  10. According to Rotoworld the A's have reportedly signed Mac Suzuki to a minor league deal and invited him to spring training.
  11. I have to say yes. Innocent until proven guilty. Until he either admits or is proven guilty I have to let him in.
  12. Nice one. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  13. I vote yes. Blyleven won 287 games while pitching for a ton of really crappy teams. If he would have pitched for more decent teams he would have won closer to 320 games or more. Then we wouldn't be having this discussion at all since he would already be in the Hall. The guy was also a true work horse. He averaged 245.3 innings per season. Bert was among the top ten in WHIP eleven times. He was also among the top ten in ERA+ eleven times. There may be a typo in the article. On the part where Todd compares Blyleven to his control group shouldn't CF be CG?
  14. Gordon is in KC and attended a Royals game. I'm sure this is a good sign.
  15. I say yes. He was one of the finest leadoff hitters of all time. I can't hold his past drug problems against him. He cleaned himself up and moved on. Just like Molly.
  16. So is that a yes, or a no?
  17. I say yes. If his knees wouldn't have betrayed him I think he would have had 3,000hits and 500 homers. While he didn't reach those milestones, he did have 2774hits, 438hrs, and 314 steals. The hawk also made the All Star team eight times, won eight gold gloves, an NL MVP award, NL ROY award, and had a pretty cool nickname. He was a truly feared hitter for most of his career.
  18. I should add the winner site's owner (Brian in our case) will get two tickets to the pro sports event of their choice. Let's win the him those tickets as thanks for all he has done!!!
  19. I say yes for Rice. In his prime he was one of the most feared hitters in all of baseball. He made eight all star games, won one MVP award, and finished in the top five for MVP voting five more times. Baseball-reference.com lists Orlando Cepeda, a Hall of Famer, as the player closest to Rice. On the negative end, he played a quarter of his career at DH. He also ran out of gas around age 34-35. His counting stats suffer as a result.
  20. I noticed FanZone Central's 2005 Fan Site Tournament is going to be kicking off probably on August 22nd. Last year we finished second to letsgowings.com, a nice Detroit Red Wings fansite. Let's see if we can win it this year!! Link:www.fanzonecentral.com/showthread.php?t=8421
  21. And the Yankees are, of course, interested too.
  22. Krynzel was 2000. Mike Jones was 2001. Lucky 13 baby!!! Hopefully we can end up with lucky 15, 16, or 17.
  23. The post said he will sign. Not that he has signed yet. And the tread is two threads down.
  24. In my opinion Brewerfan is the best. It covers baseball, America's pasttime. And our beloved Brewers. That Red Wings site was pretty good too. Of course, I don't care about hockey so the Red Wings site doesn't do anything for me. The Red Wing's are the most successfull franchise in hockey. The Brewers have been perennial losers for a long time now. I give this site a lot of bonus points for following a franchise that hasn't given us much reason to follow them in a long time. It's easy to follow a team when they are winning championships. The true fans keep following the team through the bad as well as the good. Sal Bando, Jeffrey Hammonds, bad drafts, a lot of losing seasons, the All Star game fiasco, we have been through alot. Thanks to Brewerfan I can see the light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.
