  1. With Villy getting up here, I guess that means that he is officially out of the closers role.
  2. Nice DP by McGehee and Esco. Though the Astros do have a point that it went off of his foot.
  3. Man, sucks that we were ready to draft Wade Davis in '04 in the third round, only to have Tampa take him 1 pick earlier.
  4. Lucroy looked pretty bad catching that curve. He was getting out of his crouch like it was gonna end up in the batters box and then had to reach back towards the plate to catch it.
  5. I thought the 29th was just when Cappy could go elsewhere, not that it was up to the major league team or gone.
  6. I think Pujols actually started out in the outfield while the Cards still had big mac. Personally, my list would look like the OP, except Votto would be 1 bumping everyone down a spot. I am a big fan of Vottos. Sucks that he's on the Reds.
  7. But Zaun is a switch hitter, so when it would matter, he would be a righty.
  8. Yeah, but you could have moved McGehee or Hart to the top of the lineup, or even Escobar could have moved up. Heck, you could have put Zaun in there and he could have batted right handed against a lefty. I'm not saying all of these options would be a good thing, but McGehee probably should have been in the 3 with Edmonds in the 5 at least.
  9. So as predicted, putting 3 lefties in a row failed so much.
  10. Well, like Lincecum, he would still have to worry about being caught and thrown in prison.
  11. No. No, it isn't. I've never liked Griffey since he made that catch where he went all the way from right field to left field against the Twins in the tie breaker game, in the movie Little Big League. But seriously, I would say I'm more neutral to him. I definitely don't like him, but he hasn't done anything to make me hate him.
  12. I don't have a problem if he ends up swinging at the pitch he is looking for, which would probably be a fastball down the middle, which looked like what he got, but just missed it. Zaun has been hitting very well lately, so its not like he's a pitcher or kendall who you really don't want swinging in any situation.
  13. Actually we traded for Torres, but the premise is the same and you are right, there was no way we would have made the playoffs without him.
  14. Congrats to Jody. I guess this means that Doug won the Gerut for Gwynn jr. trade. I was laughing pretty hard at Prince in the dugout. It's a good thing they don't have that potowautami promotion where someone wins, I think it was 10k, if the final score combined is 21, fell just 1 run short.
  15. I know that you were talking about major league, though you are a little off as its "You guys won today. You guys won yesterday, so that's two in a row. If you win again tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before". But what I was talking about was something Uecker said during a game a long time ago, I'm thinking early 2000's when we were so bad, it was something like, one is luck, two is a coincidence and 3 is a streak. I can remember the 3 is a streak part, heck I can even remember exactly where I was driving when I heard it, but I cant remember the beginning part much.
  16. Many a year ago, Uecker said something on the radio about winning streaks. I don't remember it now, maybe one of you will know what I'm talking about, but it went something like winning 1 game is something, 2 in a row is something else, and 3 games in a row is a streak. Let's start that streak tomorrow for Uecker!
  17. I can play this game too, except with relatives professions on my mom's side of the family. Most are either a teacher/principal or a nurse. My mom is the youngest with 7 brothers and sisters. The oldest is a teacher, the second oldest is the only couple that screws it up as neither are, but the third oldest is a principal, and his wife is a nurse, fourth is a teacher, fifth is a principal and wife is a nurse, 6th and wife are principals, 7th is a nurse and my mom is a nurse. Now, my cousins are starting as well, oldest has a teaching degree, and third oldest is a teacher. If I expand it and say governmental service or service to society, the oldest's ex husband was in the navy, #2 gets added in as he is a surveyor for the government, cousin #6 is becoming a lawyer, and I'm working on becoming a police officer.
  18. The brewers will go 0-31, that's right, they will find a way to lose a game on each of their off days, and my tie breaker is 0+0+0=0. 16-12 4+11+4=19
  19. If you want to include pitchers, Dontrelle, before he wore down at the end of the year, was pretty dominate.
