Many mention and compare the Brewers rebuild to the Cubs, which is fine, but I am not sure if the Cubs rebuild was short or long based on what everyone is saying. So lets compare the Cubs to the Brewers 2010 - Cubs went into the year with Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, etc and flopped and had a fire sale starting in 2010. The Brewers went into 2015 with Gomez, Fiers, Parra, Lohse, Garza, Lucroy, Braun and flopped. Selling started in 2015. 2011 - the Cubs begin a stretch of 4 straight years of sub .500 baseball, including coming in last place in the central for 5 straight years from 2010 through 2014. So if we "follow suit" which so many think the cubs were a quick turnaround, it means we will finally get out of the cellar in 2020. That will be our first year above .500 ball. For me, I think the Cubs had a longer and harder road. Baseball America has the Cubs as 2009 rank 27 2010 rank 14 2011 of 16. 2015 - They reach a #1 rank The Brewers were 2014 - ranked 28th 2015 - ranked 19th. 2016 - ranked 9th After the trades we could pull off between now and next year we could be a top 5 farm in 2017.

I will be going to 2 Brewers games (night games) so we have plenty of time to do stuff during the day. It is me an another guy I work with. We are looking at staying at 1 of these 3 hotels: Hard Rock, Renaissance, or Marriot in the Gaslamp (has a bar at the top of the hotel). All are within a few blocks of Petco. As for what we are looking to do, mostly some site seeing and then drinking some good beer at beach bars or beer gardens. I think we will probably walk through the USS Midway, and visit Coronado island. Any tips on good bars to visit that are either on the beach or a good beer garden (it's summer and I like being outside:) ) ... Or any tips at all would be appreciated. I am going to try out Karl Strauss Brewing Co as I heard that is good. I am also thinking of stopping at the Coronado Brewing Co. We also might stop at the seaport village. I didn't know that either, so I went to the official rulebook as I don't think that is correct. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/downloads/y2016/official_baseball_rules.pdf On page 46, it states: He is touched by a fair ball in fair territory before the ball has touched or passed an infielder. The ball is dead and no runner may score, nor runners advance, except runners forced to advance. EXCEPTION: If a runner is touching his base when touched by an Infield Fly, he is not out, although the batter is out; If a runner is touched by an Infield Fly when he is not touching his base, both the runner and batter are out. On page 61 it states: Rule 6.01(a) Penalty for Interference Comment (Rule 7.08(b) Comment): A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not. If, however, the runner has contact with a legally occupied base when he hinders the fielder, he shall not be called out unless, in the umpire’s judgment, such hindrance, whether it occurs on fair or foul territory, is intentional. If the umpire declares the hindrance intentional, the following penalty shall apply: With less than two out, the umpire shall declare both the runner and batter out. With two out, the umpire shall declare the batter out. So it appears to be judgment of the umpire. If a runner is stealing 2nd base and slides safely into the base and a ground ball is then hit up the middle and hits him, he could be safe as long as he didn't do something like reach his hand out to touch the ball. Or in the case where a runner is standing on 3rd base and a rocket of a line drive hits the runner while standing on base, I would believe him to be safe as well.

After having a 4.72 ERA last year and now a 7.3 so far this year, McCalvy is saying he might go to the pen or the minors. It is frustrating that he has performed below expectations. What does everyone think? Let him continue on and work it out in the majors? Send to minors? Send to pen? Something else?

Carlos has had nothing but positive comments about Milwaukee and said today "How much did it mean to Carlos Gomez to play in Milwaukee? He said when he retires he wants to do it as a Brewer." - @haudricourt I just honestly don't get the hate. Unreal All the talent in the world and a ten cent baseball mind. That's why. I didn't hate him but he was incredibly frustrating to watch. If he wasn't swinging so hard he fell down he was thinking he could run where ever and whenever he wanted. Dislike - sure. If you didn't like his game, ok. And maybe he did some stealing on his own - but RRR wasn't a hall of fame coach and I'm sure gave him a pretty solid green light. Especially considering a career 78% rate - which is probably top 100 all time.

No offense but I am very confused by people who think players taking pitches is more entertaining to watch. I am not sure on the statistics behind it, but the natural feel is if you take pitches, force more walks, get more guys on base, it ultimately leads to a more exciting game due to the extra runners/increase in "pressure" pitches. I for one am glad some of the free swingers / first pitch out hitters are gone.

I don't understand how the OP is confused for the love being shown for a rebuild on BF.net. How could one be wanting more of the last few years is a better question? How could someone NOT be on board with a rebuild. As Braun said, it isn't like we are breaking up some juggernaut. This team has been mediocre for years. Its the biggest criticism I have had on the Milwaukee Bucks over the years. Quit aiming to be mediocre. I would rather have fun building talent, giving young guys playing time and following the minors, than a yearly continuance of 500. Being stuck at 500 (to me) is the absolute worst.
