  1. @Haudricourt: The #Brewers officially off to worst start in club history. Had never been 2-10. Were 3-9 in 1970, 1972, 2002 and 2003. @Haudricourt: The '02 #Brewers team went on to franchise worst 106 losses. The '03 team started 0-6 under new manager Ned Yost. I know they are not 2002-03 bad but wow. This team is just one big fail at most baseball related activities. For now I am blaming hitting - our new hitting coach is awesome
  2. @joe_block: #Pirates 5, #Brewers 2 -- FINAL - First-ever 2-10 start
  3. Yep - his first time in his career. But since his power is non existent - it's probably a good spot for him.
  4. I just am unsure if Luc's best spot is the 2 hole. He just seems so clutch in the 5. I guess I am up and down on Davis. Yes he has pop but he is streaky and has a low OBP. This is a trying year for him, if he hits well, I have no problem putting him in the 5 hole. But if his OBP stays low, he needs to stay down in the order. And with how Segura has started the season, I have no problem with bumping him out of the 8 hole.
  5. RRR moves Ramirez to 5 hole for tonight. I hope we get to this lineup at some point 1. Gomez 2. Gennett 3. Braun 4. Lind 5. Lucroy 6. Ramirez 7. Davis 8. Segura
  6. I'll say this, no one hustles down the line harder than Segura. I really hope he has a nice season.
  7. Moli, Yount, Prince and write-in Sheets. I agree with keeping Braun off for now. He has a lot to prove. Sheeter was amazing to watch for so long. His curve ball was ridiculous and probably the best pitcher we have had for more than a rental (Greinke Sabathia) in quite some time.
  8. Glad we flipped that around this year. Last year we were the last team in baseball to get swept - this year the first.
  9. Braun not able to hit 91 mph fastball down the middle of the plate. That isn't good fella's. Ends up with a hit off a trickler up the line.
  10. I was at the game last night. Some points: 1. 30,000 in attendance and I walked in around 6:30 2. Those with a purse / bag / backpack can't use the express line (which was empty) - the bag line had a line of about 3 people in front of me . 3. Out cell phone and wallet in a container that security agent took and handed back after I walked through detectors. Honestly don't think it took much more time. Was also at opening day. Lines were long and I went in about an hour before game time. But once again line moved very quickly. All in all, pretty minimal impact.
  11. Well then he shouldn't say things like "I know there's a small number of people on this planet who can do what I can do in this game." http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/115703108/return-to-form-makes-ryan-braun-milwaukee-brewers-dangerous Then get hurt on the first day of the year. Just laughable. What in what he said isn't true? What percentage of people in the world can solidly hit 95+ MPH fastballs? Less than 1%? Isn't that pretty much the definition of a "small number of people?" How does his getting hurt justify an overwhelming amount of negativity towards him? Additionally, the whole quote includes him saying "But as long as I am healthy..." If you just don't like Braun because of PEDs or who he is as a person, then fine. Negativity because of injury though is not justified. It wasn't about being true or untrue - it's about context and style. You could say Elian Hererra is in the "small percentage" as well but he doesn't say that. Neither does Gomez or Lucroy. The fact is Braun is cocky, arrogant and viewed by many non Brewers fans as completely classless. I am unsure of what posts you are saying are negative but some negativity is definitely warranted. The guy comes off as a jerk and then gets hurt on day 1. I have rooted for Braun over the years but the injuries and excuses are piling up. I wish the guy would turn it around but maybe he should start by being a little less selfish.

  13. @Todd_Rosiak: Ryan Braun with strain in lower right side. Won't know until tomorrow. Making catch in RF. Wow - there is a shock. Nice start to season Braun.
  14. I am pretty sure I have used it with regular 300 level tickets
  15. [sarcasm]I completely disagree[/sarcasm] Since I don't know how to post a gif, I will link to one viewtopic.php?p=890212#p890212
  16. RRR told Tom H of JS that the Brewers would announce their lead-off hitter .... still no official announcement but here is today's lineup Gomez Lucroy Braun Ramirez Lind Davis Gennett Segura That just isn't how I would have done it. I get maximizing AB's for Gomez, Lucroy and Braun (arguably your 3 best hitters) but I am just not on the same page of having Ramirez as the 4 hitter anymore. Update: @Haudricourt: #Brewers manager Ron Roenicke confirmed today's lineup will be opening day lineup.
  17. Burning a hole in their pocket is putting it lightly. According to Cot's https://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/nl-west/los-angeles-dodgers/ They went from having a 40 man total of $109,865,640 (ranking 12th in Baseball) at the end of 2011. Since then? .... Year - Year Begin - Year End (MLB Rank) 2012 - $105,419,833 - $158,258,570 (6) 2013 - $216,753,286 - $236,872,242 (2) 2014 - $229,335,934 - $277,737,082 (1) 2015 - They are already on the hook for $262 million for this year and that was before this signing: http://www.truebluela.com/2013/10/21/4861112/los-angeles-dodgers-payroll They couldn't give the cash away quicker. Simply astounding.
  18. I agree. Plus Melvin has 1 postseason series win in his 25 years as a GM.
  19. @AdamMcCalvy: Dontrelle Willis has told the #Brewers he intends to retire. Stiff neck derailed his comeback attempt.
  20. I don't think anyone is arguing with the thought of a veteran increasing his versatility. But Parra is a better OF than everyone not named Gomez on this team. Plus he is gone after this year anyhow. I just don't see why we wouldn't have Braun getting some reps at 1B. Between Lind / Clark - I just don't see any more LH bats needed to play 1B. I would much rather see Braun get some playing time there in ST. He needs to increase his versatility. Maldy hits .221 / .276 / .317 / .593 vs LHP in 145 AB over his career. He should only play when Lucroy needs a day off. Not when we need Lucroy to play 1B because we don't have any other RH hitter to play it. Inserting Luc into 1B and Maldy into Catcher is not a good plan. Keep Lucroy at Catcher, Braun at 1B, Parra in RF is a much better plan. Or Clark at 1B and Braun in RF.
  21. Well said Thurston. To me Gomez should be stealing bases, turning singles into doubles all day every day. Yes, he will get caught steeling / thrown out but his aggressiveness on the bases increases his value 10 fold. Him wreaking havoc causes distress to the other team. Forces their pitcher into uncomfortable spots. It's a good thing. In 09 - 11 Gomez stole 14/18/16 bases. That is silly. He should be able to do that by the all star break. (and then some) ... Here is a good comparison to someone GoGo reminds me of, Rickey Henderson. (From a speed/power standpoint) [pre]Gomez Henderson Age SB CS % SB CS % 25 16 2 88.9% 66 18 78.6% 26 37 6 86.0% 80 10 88.9% 27 40 7 85.1% 87 18 82.9% 28 34 12 73.9% 41 8 83.7% 29 93 13 87.7%[/pre] Would you tell Henderson to slow it down? Don't wreck havoc? The %'s are near the same. To me, I love having someone like Gomez. Someone who is all out all the time. He doesn't trot to first on a GB. He blazes there and you better not have a hiccup. Single to LF, you better not bobble it. Forcing someone to be on their toes at all times is a good thing. And pushing the envelope to create a spark is another good thing. To me the positives out weigh the negative lapses. So keep doing what you do GoGo.
