  1. Nice, gotta love RRR running a gassed Peralta out there with no one ready in the pen. Bye Bye shutout and probably the lead at this pace. Wily lets see some K's!!!
  2. Ax just couldn't wait to get back out there so he could redeem himself??
  3. He has raw strength, raw power, & is a left-handed bat. Imo that's as close to "potential" as he's got. He's a bad defender (NO idea why clubs stuck with him so long at 3B) & not a good contact hitter. It's a sad commentary on the state of the Brewers that he's getting regular playing time. Agree, I should have worded my post differently. He has a ton of power potential. I would like to see Halton man 1st the rest of the year.
  4. I was in the give Francisco pt camp, but I am not so sure anymore. He has a ton of potential but he is just not a smart player, and strikes me as lazy and disinterested.
  5. I don't understand why the Brewers would have any interest in Ynoa. He has done nothing so far to give any indication he will even turn into a mediocre minor leaguer let alone a big league player. I would be pissed if they moved Loshe for Ynoa. Should be able to get a much better package.
  6. Lucroy is actually a really solid defender. He is no Molina, but I would say he is well above average.
  7. Lucroy is the man. I have followed him since he entered the system. Always had a feeling he would turn into a great catcher. I love being right.
  8. Says the guy who was defending Betancourt earlier. And how bad did Betancourt do today? 2 for 4, 2 RBI So positive or negative play for one game is how you form your opinions about players? Must make for a long season....
  9. When Weeks was at his best over the last few years it was while he was batting leadoff. I am thinking they are putting him there in a last ditch effort to jump start Weeks this season.
  10. I understand the distinction, just throwing it out there because I've been hearing that a lot from people. And it is a similar situation, since PEDs, while not illegal, is violating MLB's policy. Like I said, I know it's apples and oranges to some extent. I get where you are going with that, but professional sports cannot be compared to a normal job. Also, many places of employment will offer a 2nd chance to a person who has failed a drug test allowing them to continue to be employeed as long as they go through some classes, counseling, and agree to certain self help terms. The "Well, if I did that at my job" statement in a conversation about professional sports just doesn't work.
  11. Good interview with Lucroy right now. Handled that very well.
  12. Glad it is over. Don't really care at all, guy took a pick me up for the 2011 playoff run and got caught. PEDs use is rampant in all sports. If taken properly, a cycle will not push a person over the levels that will trigger a positive result. I wouldn't be surprised if 50% of the league is on something. There is no risk and all reward. Ask Melky how they worked for him? Landed him a nice fat contract. Until MLB puts in some really penalties like lifetime ban or playing for league min after positive test guys will continue to use.
  13. Man, I sure hope that Corey Hart is not in our plans for next season... Time to cut the ties and move on. Agree, need to let him walk in free agency. No need to resign him again even for 1 year. Between Francisco, Halton, and Morris there are options at 1b. Resigning Hart for a year would just block those guys.
  14. What is funny is the fact that this decline happened under RRR. He took over a unreal team his first year that could have gotten to 96 wins with my wife as manager. It has been all downhill since then.
  15. Why is yuni getting starts over Francisco these last few games. Start a guy who has no future with this team over a guy who has a ton of potential?
  16. I love how ESPN decides to report this new suspension story the day Braun comes off the DL. Coincidence.... Probably not.
  17. Do they keep stats for base coaches? I would be interested to know sedars success rate and how it compares to the rest of the league.w
  18. Why trade Gallardo? This team needs pitching; so trade your top pitcher? Yes, I know he hasn't performed like an ace to this point. I get it has been a horrible year, but no need to have a fire sale. If anything move Weeks or Gomez in an effort to get some pitching. Moving Yo this year would be a mistake.
  19. I seriously want to fly to PNC, go into the dugout, and backhand RRR across the face. The contact play makes absolutely zero sense when the infield is in. This is not a hindsight is 20/20, knee jerk fan reaction, it is common fricking sense.
  20. Braun, Lucroy, and Segura is the core. There is currently no pitching that this team can build around. Wily will be a nice piece if he puts it together a bit more, but even then I don't think he becomes a core player. Lucroy absolutely is a core player. He is above average offensively (for his position) and defensively, and is priced right. I can't see him going anywhere. Also, no way Coulter stays at catcher; so those talking Maldy filling in until Coulter arrives are dreaming. His bat projects well, but it won't be as a catcher.
  21. I thought Gindl was actually a good defender. Sure isn't looking like it tonight, but I thought he was supposed to be above average.
  22. You never know what value a team in the hunt will put on a player. Look what the Brewers got for few month Greinkie rental last season. While I think Skaggs and Bradley is very unlikely, I don't think anyone can say either one is way more valuable than Gomez. Reason being, no one knows what value a team in the hunt who thinks they must win now will put on a player like Gomez. Numbers, war, contract all go out the window when it comes to these types of playoff run trades.
