  1. You've got to think for as much as they're letting Hader throw tonight that he's being considered for a rotation spot. He's almost to the point of need a full 4 days off. Although they'll probably just option him after the game and bring him back after the all star break.
  2. Like where? We are pretty set at 3rd, pretty set in the corner OF, though Eric can kind of sort of fake it in left. Our lineup is pretty set most everywhere. Good problem to have. Villar could certainly be improved on and even though he's had great streaks Broxton has been generally replaceable offensively.
  3. Once again, it would be really nice if Jesus or Eric could play another position.
  4. So is Foxtrax off or did the ump just call 4 pitches in the same spot 3 balls and 1 strike?
  5. It's a shame both Aguilar and Thames are only 1B. Those are two bats that would be great to have in the lineup everyday.
  6. What are they supposed to do? Their worst starting pitcher and some random 4A reliever combined to have one terrible inning. It's not like they played like the Orioles who looked totally lost and clueless. And any time a position player pitches, his team has a good laugh about it. That's nothing unique to yesterdays game.
  7. What gets me is that when asked if they are looking at the standing yet, Maddon emphatically said they were not. I hate to break it to you Joe, even if you have confidence in your team, one should acknowledge where you are or where you want to be. I feel like the Brewers are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NL. I know it's all gamesmanship and strategy, but maddon never acknowledging any problems drives me nuts. Ohhhh you're so unflappable! Piss off. I hope they don't make playoffs. Because it's common for managers to publicly talk about the negatives of their players or discuss how worried they are about the standings.
  8. Was he announcing for the MLB Network? Matt Lepay does a nice job filling in for him. Lepay just said he would be back after the All Star break. No mention of where he is. Makes me wonder if he has a family or personal matter to attend to.
  9. I can't imagine any way to empirically prove a 3B coach is good or bad. There are just way too many variables to consider.
  10. Respect the game Rock? Really? It's pretty simple, don't burn a reliever in a game you're not going to win.
  11. I seem to remember a few years ago the Brewers playing 1 game somewhere on a Monday to start a road trip. St. Louis maybe?
  12. That's way too much. I don't think there is any one player in baseball I would be comfortable giving up that much for.
  13. I coach JV baseball. Watching Villar is like watching a JV player. He'll do all kinds of great things - make diving catches, hit line drive doubles to the wall, etc. and then cancel that out by doing all kinds of things that make no sense to you and wonder if he's ever played baseball before.
  14. Just as nothing is guaranteed they'll win the WS this year if they trade a boat-load of top prospects for Quintana or anyone else. But every year is special.
  15. If he's a free agent, anyone can sign him for whatever they want without restrictions.
  16. Who would you compare his offensive ceiling to? Ian Kinsler? Really good at everything but not great at anything.
  17. This 3 game series the Orioles have played the most sloppy I've ever seen a major league team play.
