  1. Welcome to the internet.
  2. Cron can't play anywhere other than 1B so using him as the short side of a platoon doesn't seem like a very Stearns-ian move. And certainly no way they would sign both Thames and Cron. That would be back to the "2 guys who only play one position" problem they had with Aguilar and Thames.
  3. Players resigning with a team after being non-tendered is not uncommon. It's usually for guys who were injured and barely played for a couple years who would have gotten a raise simply due to service time or bottom of the 40 man guys. I think there's a decent chance Nelson resigns for less. The Brewers treated him very well.
  4. Matt Arnold spent 8 years with the Rays before coming to Milwaukee. I'm sure he knows enough about how the Rays develop pitchers.
  5. Come on Briggs ... of all people, you know better. It is Dec. 2. You would think. This is not Briggs' first offseason as a fan. Is this offseason special though?
  6. Exactly this. Shaw, Nelson, and Guerra are guys you hope will bounce back or be good next year. Considering the money they have been making, you can't spend that much on hope. Saladino is a dime a dozen no hit utility player. Claudio is almost useless now with the three batter rule.
  7. Didn't Lamb's shoulder injury pretty much make him a useless player who can only play 1B? Looking at his numbers, it looks like the power is gone. The BB rate seems decent but he's a low AVG, low SLUG guy. For a corner IF that doesn't seem worth a try.
  8. Yes. He started a thread about collusion. Totally blasted anyone who didn't agree with him by attacking them and other non-sense. Probably should have been banned. If you follow him on Twitter you'll see how unhinged he is.
  9. Same with my 3 year old. We were watching something on TV and he was mad at us because we couldn't skip past the commercials.
  10. From reading comments from Orioles fans he's still a baseball dunce. He's so incredibly inconsistent it's impossible to figure out what kind of year he will have in 2020.
  11. Considering Urias and Arcia have almost exactly the same MLB numbers, I'm not sure what the problem would be.
  12. Looks like Preller is loading up for another year of disappointment. Unless they have a miracle 2020 season he has to be fired. He really doesn't seem to have any clear plan to what he's doing.
  13. Outside of Vick, has a real duel threat QB lasted more than a couple years? They either get hurt (Newton, RG3) or get figured out (Kap) after 2 or 3 years.
  14. Vogt isn't really a good catcher or any sort of defensive player and his bat really isn't much for a guy with no defensive value. Factor in a 35 year old shoulder that almost ended his career and the Brewers would have been pretty stupid to rely on him to split catcher duties.
  15. Seems like a head scratcher for SD. I know they don't really have a spot for Urias but I can't believe that Grisham was the best they could do. Even Lauer would seem to have more value than Davies due to age, control, and salary.
  16. Josh has proven to not be the most couth in his discourse. Who knows what really happened. FWIW, JJ already has a new agent. I can't imagine he would have found new representation that quickly if he was having any sort of relapse. Seems like he probably just wanted new management.
  17. Certainly a possibility but wouldn't it be more beneficial for a team to have signed him to a major league deal than take him in the rule 5?
  18. I post this and then watch Dynamite from this week. Moxley and Darby Allin put on one hell of a match with no jumpy, flippy spots. Just two guys beating the crap out of each other. No weapons either. Great stuff.
  19. I'm a fan of the jumpy, flippy stuff. I love when WCW would throw a bunch of random cruiserweights in the ring and have them put on a spot fest. It was palatable because they had a wide variety of wrestlers that could put on different types of matches. My two biggest disappointments with AEW so far is that basically every match is a borderline jumpy, flippy spot fest. Lots of high spots and someone almost always does some sort of top rope to outside the ring spot. I'd like to see a huge dude squash match every now and then or a Benoit/Melanko style technical match. The other thing is that there are hardly any storylines and of the few that they have they only further one or two a week.
  20. That 70's Show is one of the most underrated shows ever. It doesn't get the love it should.
  21. No way the Brewers should have done this deal. Probably no way the White Sox should have either. I guess the AL Central is kind of open with the Royals and Tigers being terrible, the Indians sort of exiting a window of having a really good team, and the Twins not quite there yet. Still by the time the Sox are actually competitive, Yaz probably isn't much of a hitter anymore and is just dead weight. If you have the money you need to spend it these days so you don't get called out for not trying, even if it's to the detriment of your franchise.
  22. Good for Pat Williams. However, MLB allowing another team in Florida would be the dumbest thing the league has dumb in decades. And that's saying something.
  23. This has now reached full on, tin foil hat conspiracy level. Next we'll be hearing the Astros hired psychics with ESP to read the minds of players on the opposing teams and transfer those thoughts to Astros players.
  24. I'm guessing by keeping them they're assuming some "free" government money for a new stadium. Or the under the table deals are already in place and they just need the minor league overhaul to actually happen.
