  1. I'd trade Braun and Fielder plus a prospect to Boston for Lester AND Buchholtz. Something like this, Boston gets - Braun, Fielder, Peralta or Rivas. Brewers get - Lester and Buchholtz Keep in mind that the Red Sox can re-sign Fielder Boston has a huge payroll anyways and could probably go out and sign a big time FA SP or trade other Minor League pieces for one. The Brewers have 2 top offensive prospects that are breaking into the Majors in Gamel and Lawire who can take over for Fielder and Braun. The Brewers would still have Jeffress, Rogers and Odorizzi. I'm not going to rule out Braun being traded even though it is highly unlikely. The Brewers would still have about 30-40 million to spend this off-season I think Doug Melvin will do something huge this off-season and the players going out IMO will be a big time offensive players for the Brewers. The Brewers seem to be preparing to change the dynamic of this offense by hiring Roenicke and if you read some of their statements it all makes sense. btw.. I don't think Gammons would mention the Brewers trading Braun at all unless he heard of something. He is too smart for that. Mods I made a mistake and put Weeks to Boston and I meant Fielder.
  2. Actions speak louder than words. It sounds like we have an aggressive manager who will run a lot. Just how aggressive is to be determined.
  3. This is one of the main reasons why I didn't like Macha's managerial style. He IMO was holding this offense back. The offense was still good, but he could have done a lot more with it. I'm even more in favor of this signing based on some of the comments from Roenicke.
  4. Ron Roenicke is just the aggressive manager the Brewers need. I'm very happy with this pick!
  5. What kind of a manager in Valentine? Does he stress small ball and fundamentals and situational hitting. Is he an aggressive manager? How does he compare to Ken Macha? I don't know much about him.
  6. Wow, lots of subtle parting shots this offseason. I'm convinced more then ever now based on those comments that the Brewers are going to hire a more aggressive type of manager. Dale Sveum just hinted that IMO.
  7. Possibly. It is encouraging though that Greinke likes small market teams, and that he didn't want to go to Boston or New York.
  8. This actually gives me even more hope that the Brewers might actually be one of his acceptable destinations. We shall see.
  9. What about a 3 team trade for Greinke? Something like Fielder and cash to the 3rd team, and mlb ready prospects from the 3rd team to KC, and Greinke to Milwaukee... This would allow the Brewers to keep the Majority of their top prospects and actually allow the Brewers to trade Fielder and possibly contend the next couple years. Heck maybe the Brewers could then trade some of there top prospects for a second top pitcher like a Matt Garza and that could make up for the loss of Fielder. They would then have one of the top rotations in the NL. Just a thought.
  10. Does anybody have espn insider that can post the entire ESPN Buster Olney article on Greinke? I guess he mentions team by team odds to get Greinke...
  11. I'm in the camp that says trade for Greinke and make it contingent on an extension.
  12. "Zack Greinke has until after the World Series to notify the Royals about the 8-10 teams on his no-trade list, reports Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star." link
  13. Mark Rogers threw 126IP this season. They will likely increase his IP by 30IP next season. That will put him at around 160IP for 2011. Mark Rogers will in all likelihood be a big part of the 2011 Milwaukee Brewers.
  14. You'd think that with this off-seasons weak 3B market the Brewers could get more for McGehee then they could for Fielder. I like the Idea of trading for Greinke, and trading Fielder (package) for another top starting pitcher. I'd like to see the Brewers go after a young player like Jed Lowrie from Boston. Move him to 3B and move McGehee to 1B. That would improve the defense and help to balance out the offense after losing Fielder in a trade. I have a hard time seeing the Brewers as a contender next season by only adding Greinke. If the Brewers are going to go for it they need to get a second pitcher.
  15. And the Brewers don't have a good amount of money they can spend and a good amount of young talent?
  16. That was a costly pick off. That's an example of something that can't happen in the playoffs. Especially is that situation.
  17. I don't think this game is over. Not yet anyway.
  18. Talk about ambushing the first pitch. They would be lucky to get out of the inning without giving up the lead.
  19. Wow.. What a bad pitch.
  20. come on get that ground ball.
  21. Hart has a limited no trade clause. He can block deals to up to 15 teams.
  22. Not really. They won a lot of games without him this year. I know that. Against the Yankees they could use a bigger bat in the middle of the line-up. The Twins regardless have had issues coming through in the clutch and they have had there chances. My take is that they are trying to do to much and go for the home run when they are behind in the score. They need to focus on going the other way and take what the pitchers give them and just get on base. The Twins haven't been trying to go the other way with the Yankees pitchers, and that is why the Yankees pitchers are having there way with the Twins.
  23. Minnesota is missing Morneau and it shows.
  24. Now they just need a hit.
  25. The twins need to focus on getting on base and the opportunities will come..
