  1. Melvin currently has almost $30 million in the bullpen either not pitching or posting an ERA above 7.00. Add in the Hall contract, and that's approximately $40 million of a payroll that sits between $86 and $90 million. Doug Melvin's moves are making him look really really bad... Just saying...
  2. Tom H says the same thing that "Suppan role being discussed". JSonline
  3. If the Brewers decide to pass on Fielder why not try to go after Lance Berkman after 2011 season (after this season if option isn't picked up)? He is a very good hitter and defender and would be way less expensive. His last deal he signed was 6/85 million. Just an Idea...
  4. My ticket Rep told me that they are sold out of preferred parking. I tried to purchase it in advanced but was denied, because none were left.
  5. Dave Bush is officially the number 4 SP, behind Gallardo, Wolf and Davis. Link
  6. You and me both. I have to drive 8 hours. I live in Ohio.
  7. Absolutely. This contract really doesn't have much, if anything, to do with how much Fielder will get. Why do you say that? I'm curious..
  8. Villanueva and Stetter are the odd men out. Send them both down to the minors and have Bush and Narveson take their place. I don't see the Brewers getting rid of their pitching depth or risking their pitching depth to waivers.
  9. Just got my Premier 9-pack! GO BREWERS!!
  10. And yet he was the 2nd best starter on the team last year. Suppan is not a good pitcher but he really is nowhere near as bad as people try to make him out to be. However Suppan was not as good in 2009 as he was most of 2008 and all of 2007. In those seasons he was still going 7+ innings 1 out of 3 starts. Last year he almost never made it 7 innings and was struggling to get through the lineup a 3rd time much more than the previous years. If he pitches like last year again this year he should be dropped from the rotation, if he pitches like 2007/2008 he shouldn't be. Wasn't Suppan the worst pitcher in the Majors last season who pitched more then 160IP? I can't remember where I heard that..
  11. How was Iribaren DFA'd when he is batting right now for the Brewers..?
  12. It appears that the Twins need a closer now that Nathan will probably need Tommy Jon Surgery and will probably be out for the year. What about Hoffman? It appears that the Brewers bullpen is very deep even without Hoffman. Hawkins and Coffey could fill in and maybe even down the road Braddock. Hoffman is making 7.5+ million in 2010, and has a mutual option for 2011 worth 7 million. This would be the perfect time to trade Hoffman and save 7 million. Who would you want from the Twins?
  13. What about a front loaded contract? I know they are rare, but the Brewers will have to think outside the box when trying to sign Fielder.
  14. And so it begins.
  15. Field Diamond Box seats I believe are the first 5 rows of the Field Infield seats. First 5 rows in the sections closest to Home plate.
  16. I don't think the 5th SP is as important as you think he is. In the Brewers rotation their 5 spot could be filled by 3 different players. There is no set 5th SP right now, so it is a big weak spot for the Brewers at this time. I'd rather have my top 3 pitchers get an extra start in April because of the competition they face, then send out a bad 5th SP.
  17. If that 5th SP is Dave Bush, then he can pitch out of the bullpen in April to get his work in to prepare him for the rest of the season.
  18. I don't think that would wear Yo down quickly at all. There are multiple days off in between series that would give Gallardo extra rest. It is a perfect situation to go with a 4-man rotation in April.
  19. Macha should use a 4 man rotation in April. That way Gallardo can pitch in every NL Central series in April, and there are a lot. The Brewers play 2 series against the Cubs and Pirates, plus 3 games against the Cardinal's.
  20. Has anybody who purchased a 9-pack gotten their opening day tickets yet? If not, when do you think you will get them?
  21. I used to sell on stubhub.com In 2008 I bought 2 - 20 game fans choice packages mainly because of the playoff advantage and since I live in Ohio I obviously couldn't go to all 20 games. So, the games I couldn't go to I sold on stubhub.com. The prices are pretty reasonable, but a little higher then face value due to the fees stubhub charges the sellers. Sellers don't want to lose money, but also want to sell their tickets... Some sellers sell their tickets just to get their money back, and some to make a profit. This season I'm not going to be able to go to all the games and I will be a seller on stubhub.com for some games. I usually try to sell just to get my money back. I'd highly recommend this site. It is also a partner of the Milwaukee Brewers.
  22. Tom H said it's official 1 year 1.75 million. link
  23. I believe that trading Fielder let's say mid-season could net the Brewers more than what they gave up in the CC Sabathia trade. We are talking 1.5 years of control here. Not a half season like was the case with Sabathia. I'd totally go to the Rangers first and ask for Smoak and Feliz. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers get them.
  24. Scott Boras is his agent. It's highly unlikely that Prince signs an extension period before FA.
