2019 NFL Free Agency/A Busy Day for Green Bay
HiAndTight replied to Ron Robinsons Beard's topic in Other Sports
I see no quotes and I see a beat writer speculating and then concluding it may not work out and that it was a trade for THIS SEASON and the position may suffer because of it if they were unable to find anyone to fill in(exactly what happened). Not sure this is cementing your position like you think. Also, given where I came into this conversation, I'm not sure how you can argue I was the one who was looking for a reaction. -
I actually disagree. Look at the leap the Bears D made this past year with the addition of Mack? Look at the Packers '96 defense. They had some guys who were aging stars in Sean Jones and Dotson, but both were past their prime. It was Reggie and Butler. The 2010 team had Clay and Woodson and then you had Howard rBrown starting, just a big guy they signed off the street to clog up the running game. Of course you posted this prior to our FA signings so maybe that would have changed your mind, but I think one superstar, especially a superstar in the front 5(DL and OLB'ers) can make average guys good and good guys stars. You think Roquan has the type of year he had without Mack? Or Hicks, or even Eddie Jackson and or Fuller? Those were all solid players who made huge leaps this year because of Mack. IF you could trade up and pick up Bosa, then I think with Alexander, Blake, Clark, Daniels, Lowry, and now Amos, Preston and Za'Darius Smith and the guys around him, you have the makings of a elite defense IF Bosa is an elite-15 sack/40+ hurry a year type guy. Edit-Just for the record, I don't believe that the Packers are going to end up with Bosa, just playing devils advocate.

Yes, because I re-posted a link that used FACTS to prove that Burnett was one of the best in the box safeties in the NFL over the last 6 years he was in Green Bay, I'm "spamming" that link. But you calling Haha a malcontent without backing it up in anyway over and over and over is what exactly? But you made the claim that he was a malcontent and a problem in the locker room. It's on you then to support your claims, isn't it? I do have one question, if your problem with Burnett is that he was not the type of guy who could carry a defense and that he was the type of guy who could start on a defense that HAD superstars and be part of a good supporting cast, and you were so obviously upset by the Amos-Burnett comp, does that mean you believe Amos is then the type of guy who can "carry" a defense? I'm just trying to figure out where you actually come out on the Packers signings, not on the guys who aren't on the Packers anymore. -

I'll just re-post this since you seem to have given quite a bit of credence to pro-football focus(rightfully so). https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/n ... t-nfl-news The rest of it, you've been going on about since the day we traded Haha. And it's not semantics. Words ARE important. If you say we're better trading Haha because of "addition by subtraction," I've never heard anyone use that to justify future potential salary or even the return we got for him. That means we're better as a team because THIS person is no longer on it. That was not that case with HaHa. We were worse without him. I'm curious what he's did that showed he was a malcontent and a disruption in the locker room? It seems like that's kinda a cop out anytime we trade a guy who's play has slipped for whatever reason(though Haha's hadn't this past year as he was leading the league in picks IIRC at teh time of the trade, he had struggled the year before however). -

Meaner. I don't know much about Preston Smith other than he's big. He certainly has to be an upgrade on what we had, but I think when you look at the guaranteed money, the Packers are thinking he's more of an upside player that they could cut ties with in 2 years without taking too big of a hit. Amos is a very good coverage safety and I think he's still got a chance to take another big step and actually be that playmaker, but worse case scenario, he's just a really solid player and allows us to not have to worry about Free Safety for the next 4 years. Amos and Za'Darius Smith were two of the second tier guys I really was hoping the Packers were be interested in. Smith instantly improved our pass rush a great deal. If we bring back Wilkerson, even before the draft, we've got a much-much better front 7 now. And we added Billy Turner, a former 3rd rounder who can play both tackle positions and guard. Price tag on him seems a bit high at 4/28 if I saw that right, but....when it comes to protecting Rodgers, it seems worth it. -

Just going off what the rest of that coaching tree has used, I wouldn't. Unless they do pick up a guy like Fant, I think they'll still probably run a 3 WR'er set more often. MM constantly talked about whating to run 2 TE's more often...but we just never really had the talent at that position to do what he wanted to do. And seeing what some guys like Crowder and Humphries got, I'd gladly take Cobb back at say, 3 years 24 million with 10 guaranteed. Not a given he'd take it, but I think he's worth that. -

Ok, I think Burnett was better than that, but I also think Hawk was a pretty good player for a 4-5 year stretch in GB, particularly before we changed to a 3-4. I think he was best as a Will Backer in a 4-3. What you're basically saying is they're good starters, but NOT superstars. Did I miss when there was a large contingent of people claiming that either were superstars that could carry a defense? How many players are there like that on any given team? On the Packers 96 team there were 2, Butler and White. ON their 2010 team there was 2, Wood and Matthews. So if you're just saying they're NOT the types of guys who can carry a defense and be the marquee players on a good defense, particularly when they're passing their primes and have little talent around them.....who's arguing? I think you're facing resistance when you use hyperbole and say that getting rid of HaHa was "addition by substraction," or jumping all over a comment comparing Amos to Burnett because both are assignment steady, smart players. -

So when you say addition by subtraction, you're factoring in what we got in return for the player, what we MAY have hypothetically spent on the player? I think the vast-VAST majority of people when they use that phrase mean when a certain player leaves, because that player is gone, the team is going to be better. You used the same phrase repeatedly at the time of the trade. Second, with regard to the bolded part, sure you have. Refer back to your multiple posts at the time of the trade and the attacks you've made on his character and work ethic as well as....the very post I'm quoting where you continue to bash him. I don't really care about the guy any longer as he's no longer a Packer, but you seem to really be holding him some animosity for the guy and it just doesn't make much sense to me. Also, why do you give credence to the leaks about why a player loses value after the team no longer wants him, but when those very same types of leaks are positive or when they're not even leaks, they're just coming from the coaches mouths, then they hold no value? What's more, you keep using what Burnett signed for towards the end of his prime as your example as to why you seem to have this dis-like for him. How about you compare his contract that he signed with the Packers when he was around the same age as Amos? A veteran player who's struggled with injuries not getting a huge contract doesn't exactly take away the value he provided his team when he was younger and healthy. But this converstion when absolutely NOWHERE when you said Haha was "addition by substraction," at the time of the trade or called him a malcontent without telling us what exactly he did that made him such a malcontent, so I doubt it will go any futher here. Bottom line, Amos is good. That doesn't mean that Burnett couldn't have also been a good player as well 8 years ago when he was in Green Bay or that HaHa was somehow addition by subtraction. -

HiAndTight replied to Ron Robinsons Beard's topic in Other Sports
This is a bit of recency effect bias. From 2011-2015 Burnett was a very good player. Not All-Pro or Pro Bowl, but a very good player. In that time span he created 13 turnovers (7 forced fumbles, six interceptions) and had over 100 tackles every year from 2011-2014, even in only 13 games in 2013. He wasn't as good in 2016, but was still a good player, contributing two interceptions, nine passes defensed (second only to 2011), and three sacks. Unfortunately the injuries of 2015 and 2017 took their toll and by the end of his tenure in GB he was no longer the player he was, and the tail end of Dom Capers didn't make him look any better. But to say he was just a guy is not accurate, certainly not from 2011-2015. I think this is far closer to what Burnett actually was. Also, a guy who's reliable and assignment steady isn't just coach speak to talk a guy up, it's the type of players you NEED on a defense in order for said defense to not have big breakdowns like we saw with the awful safety play we had both before Burnett(MD Jennings and the like) and then last year. I would also add that I think more than just his stats, people should give Burnett more credit for his play vs the run. He was very good defending the run. -

HiAndTight replied to Ron Robinsons Beard's topic in Other Sports
From the descriptions, people have of Amos (here and elsewhere), I don't think its all that off base. Burnett was a non-flashy, dependable, always-in-position type player until he was about 25. Then it seems he fell off a cliff and the MB we had the last 3 years (and Pitt last year) wasn't the same player. So hopefully Amos doesn't follow MB's path... That's what I saw as well. But according to NFL personnel expert OldSchoolSnapper, it was WAY off. Because rather than focusing on the Amos signing, all we got was a diatribe on how Burnett was trash, and only blind Packer fans thought otherwise. I don't think it was the perfect analogy as Amos is better in coverage, and Burnett was very good vs the run, but in general, your point about having a stabalizing precence on the back end, something that was very much needed is absolutely accurate. As for Amos following Burnett's path...I think Amos arrow is pointing up and he was a great signing. I think he COULD be a guy like Fuller last year who has been solid, but makes that jump and starts to make a few more plays and goes from 2 picks to 5 or 6. I had a few dream scenario's that were less likely to happen like Barr or Clowney, but I really liked both Amos and Z Smith. Not sure about the Preston Smith as I don't think his upside is as high, but that's also reflected in his relatively meager signing bonus(when compared to his AAV). Bottom line, adding two young edge players and a safety who may be on the brink of being a pro-bowler caliber player makes the draft so much more wide open. The Packers could take a WR'er in the first, they could take Fant at 12 if they like him enough, they no longer have to take the best edge rusher. I still hope they do because I like a rotation that goes 3-4 deep(and I don't personally think highly of Kyler, despite his 10.5 sacks) with one being a really talented young guy like Sweat, but BPA rather than BPA at a position of need seems more likely now than it did before. -

That's just completely ridiculous as was saying that HaHa was "addition by subtraction." So we got better when HaHa left? No, we didn't. He was the best safety on the team. Not worth re-signing, so we traded him and got a nice return, but your stance that he was addition by subtraction, that would infer that we were better after trading him. Which of the 30 safeties that we played in his place were better than he was? I'm genuinely curious here? As for Burnett, he was a very solid player, very good in the box, not a great coverage safety which Amos is, he was older than Amos, so it's probably not a fair comparision, but you've been on this kick about how bad these two were for a while and how they were addition by subtraction. It's just not true and I'd like to see anything that backs that up. -
Then I'll go with him starting the season somewhere other than the rotation. Which isn't to say we won't see 2017 Jimmy Nelson this year. Am I to understand that you went from asking when the first off-day would be so as to find out if perhaps Nelson could be used as our 5th starter and then when you realized that the Brewers 5th starter would need to be used the first time through the rotation, THEN decided he wouldn't regain his 2017 form? If the 5th starter could have taken the first two turns off, then what? Cy Young-Jimmy Nelson? Wow.....Brewers fans are just on tilt when it comes to Jimmy Nelson's health. I'm gonna be happy to see him out there again. Full stop. We'll see what happens and how he looks from there. Either way, the Brewers certainly cannot be accused of rushing him back.

That's not what I was thinking. Personally, if we're talking about spending that on a slot, I'd rather just bring Cobb back. Rodgers is comfortable with him, he's still young, and I think he'll be used even more in new offense making him more valuable. -

Cutting Graham would only free up $1.67M in cap space. He has $9M in salary + roster/workout bonus in 2019, but would take a $7.33M cap hit by releasing him. You won't get equivalent talent for $1.67M. Next year the cap hit is very little, correct? I thought I'd remembered at the time of the signing that the Packers could get out of this after 2 years with a very little cap hit. As for Graham, he wasn't a difference maker last year, but he wasn't horrible. I would say I'd rather see Nick Perry cut, but the numbers theses edge rushers are getting and what Dee Ford, another guy the Packers have checked in on is expected to get, you might be better off rolling the dice with Perry and a couple early round picks and one vet. I do like Smith from the Ravens. Definitely a guy who can set the edge and he has a quick burst...not sure if he's going to be able to drop off in coverage at all though. -

Andy Herman at CheeseheadTV did some excellent film review of Barr. Andy is a must-follow on Twitter (@sconniesports). Is it possible that a team will target Barr as an Edge? Sure, and he will likely be more affordable than the top-tier guys. But as Andy pointed out, his career sack numbers leave something to be desired: In five years, he has 13.5 career sacks which came on 14 plays: * 10 of those sacks he was unblocked or untouched * 2 sacks came by beating a RB one-on-one * 1 sack came when Philip Rivers held the ball to long and walked right back into Barr, who was blocked * 1 sack came after the guard stumbled out of his stance so Barr had a straight shot at the QB That's... not impressive. Basically, he has NEVER beaten an offensive lineman straight-up for a sack. I don't know how often he was asked to blitz as an OLB in a 4-3, however. Andy's full breakdown is here: https://cheeseheadtv.com/blog/film-review-prospective-free-agent-anthony-barr-507 All of this is moot as he was used as a 4-3 backer who's was rarely asked to blitz. And how far is this guy going out of his way? One of the sacks was "because the guard stumbled?" Really? C'mon. Just say you don't like him. If he told me the number of pressures he got relative to the meager number of times he rushed the QB, that'd mean something to me. But he was almost never asked to rush the passer and when he was, it was usually one of Zimmer's most common defensive playcalls where he blitzes his LB'ers up both A gaps. I dont' see an "excellant" review of Barr as a pass rusher here, I see him using sacks and sacks alone(almost like using RBI's) and leaving out a lot of pertinent information like how often he won vs the tackle(beating him in 2.5 seconds, not getting a sack vs one), how many pressures, how many QB hits...and again, stack it all up against how often he was asked to rush the passer. This guy was talked about like he was a Mack like talent coming out of college. Now at the time, I doubt anyone realized how good Mack was, but many initially thought he could be a versatile and elite pass rusher. But using his sack numbers means as much to me as using Blake's sack numbers from last year. Most were ublocked and irrelevant to the discussion of how good he can be as an OLB'er. IN Blake's case, I think we can all agree(not very). In Barr's case, I think there's a little more room for debate. -

I've been a HUGE fan of the idea of signing Barr for the last couple years. He's just such a poor fit in Zimmer's D and only his athletic abiliity have kept him from struggling, but coming out of the draft, he was talked about as a potential elite pass rusher in a 3-4 as an OLB'er. I remember reading an article 2 or 3 years ago about how he was only rushing the passer on 19 pct of passing downs(basically, not playing to his strength). He could be had for less than 10 million per year and given how much Pettine likes his OLB'ers to cover, you know he can do that well. Wouldn't have minded Collins, but obviously not at that number. I'm sure Earl Thomas is going to Dallas given how he has been talking about it since he had 2 years left in Seattle. I wouldn't mind seeing the Honey Badger in Green Bay. He had yet another productive year in Houston last year and he can excel at so many things. And he's a pittance next to a guy like Landon Collins who's not great in coverage, but great in the box. -
Would you consider this "giving him away?" Seems to me the smart teams likely bowed out once he started demanding another big contract and only the dumb teams(the Cards, Raiders and the like stayed in at that point). Hard to reconcile the Steelers owners the Rooney family, one of the most respected families in sports with that moron they've got for a GM right now though. After what he came out and said, I think it validated a lot of what Brown had been saying all off-season.
-
As said earlier, there was zero chance he’d be back & any talk they’d hold onto him was just sports talk to get leverage. The bridge didn’t need repairs, it was far past that. The bridge was burned to the ground. Now the deal they got for him?! Eek. Raiders loaded with high picks & best they could get was a 3rd & 5th? Think Packers will regret not doing this the same as not trading a 4th for Moss did. ARod will continue to have one true weapon in Adams & we will have to pray Graham re-emerges or a bunch of kids take giant leap. I think bring back Cobb would be smart considering I don’t think Humphries, Tate, Beasley, J Brown, Crowder are all that better of slot WRs. This isn't anything like Moss. With Moss, we were already willing to give up a 5th, we just weren't willing to give up a 4th(IIRC) and the Pats jumped in and just offered a higher pick. In this case, Brown wanted and got a new contract. That's just more stupidity from the Raiders organization. Let Cooper and far worse Mack leave and then spend your money on a 30 year old WR'er...who I think will still be elite for 3-4 years, but not while you're likely ready to be competitive. The Raiders are pushing the Cards for worst run team in football now that the Browns look to be fixed....with the majority of their FO being former Green Bay execs.

Subluxated my left shoulder and then dislocated it completely a few weeks later in high school football. Had a bankart reconstruction but either subluxated or completely dislocated the shoulder about 10-12 more times over the next 25 years. The instability has occurred in multiple directions and under different motions. The effect on my overall proprioception and sense of balance/symmetry has been profound. There's a lot of scar tissue as well. And with all that, there have been times that I felt 100%, just like Jimmy Nelson is saying now. But it was never 100% structurally sound, no matter how good it felt, and that's usually the case with surgeries - especially shoulders, which have very poor success rates compared to, say, torn ACLs or UCLs. Also have a labrum torn in two places in my right shoulder. First had problems with overextending to stock high shelves for years, then tore the back of the labrum whipping a pass to someone behind me, followed by a minor anterior labral tear from lifting weights and then a more serious one from throwing too hard without warming up. I opted against surgery this time because it often doesn't make much difference for shoulders (and sometimes makes it worse). Bottom line, you just have to rehab the heck out of it, keep the rotator cuff as strong and healthy as possible, and hope for the best... but you can never have your original shoulder back, and trying to do the same things you did before will often lead to problems. So I don't know how many shoulder experts there are here, but you better believe there's at least one. Ok, ignoring the fact that you're calling yourself an expert because of your personal experience..which would make a great many of us experts, in your post you talk about how you initially hurt in playing HS sports and then over the next 25 years you continually had 10-12 dislocations...which I'm guessing you mean separations, but even if they were full actually 10-12 dislocations, you're still comparing and contrasting two different types of injuries and the bodies of a professional athlete who had a shoulder injury and then surgery at the age of 27 as opposed to you who had it at best in your 40's. And more importantly, the guy in his 20's went to elite specialists for intensive rehabilitation whereas even if you went to the same Doctors, I doubt there was a team around you helping you. So bottom line, there are very few similarities between you and Nelson other than you both injured the same part of your body and had serious reconstructive surgeries. In which case, I too an am expert as I had torn most of my shoulder and was able to return to still compete in college. However today in my 30's, the time it takes for me to heal has grown exponentially. So I can expertly say at the very least, what just about anyone on here dealt with doesn't compare to the experience Nelson's dealing with. Shoulder injuries are the most unpredictable injuries an athlete can have aside from the brain or back. That he's throwing right now pain-free is a good thing, and while it doesn't mean he's GOING to be the Jimmy Nelson was of the past, frankly, we're all too ignorant about his situation to accurately predict how he's going to recover. So like I said in the past, since we don't know, why not just be optimistic, hope for the best and see how it goes. Isn't that kinda the fun of baseball at this point in the season? Especially for a team that improved it's talent and was just one game away from the World Series last year?
-
Never wanted Jabari, period. It's funny you should ask because there was this back-and-forth on RealGM for years about Jabari and lots of people got really mad at me for it. But I had him pegged from day one as a pure empty stats scorer who isn't even better than a typical glue guy, let alone a potential future star. I started out comparing him to Jamison, Big Dog, Mashburn, etc, but eventually settled on sf version of David Lee as the best possible comparison. There was a 400-page thread arguing about trading him, and the mod there titled it "sponsored by CHL". I wanted him traded to Utah for Favors/#5 before the draft, as Utah had offered that same package to Cleveland for the right to draft Jabari (the Cavs traded the pick for Love instead and Minnesota drafted Wiggins). The red flags were there all along, some going all the way back to high school. Didn't consistently take good care of his body and conditioning, was benched in the NCAA tournament, was a superfluous scorer who played the same position as Giannis or Khris, refused to box out or put a body on anyone, couldn't/wouldn't set good screens, was assisted on a ridiculously high percentage of his makes but couldn't really create his own offense in the flow, didn't really shoot well despite the myth of him being a great scorer, was one of the worst defenders I've ever seen, and the team was consistently better with him on the bench or injured than with him playing. The only time he ever was a positive influence on the team's chances of winning was when he hit 50% of his 3's for a 6-week stretch before tearing his ACL a second time, but we all know that kind of shooting was not sustainable. It reminds me of when Charlie Villanueva had a similar stretch in his last year with the Bucks, and Jabari is clearly going to have a similar career to CV. He was pretty much a guy who made a name for himself being bigger, stronger, and more athletic than college guys because he developed physically so much earlier than most athletes, but he couldn't fall back on being a man-child in the NBA and he pretty clearly didn't have the work ethic, mental toughness, or awareness to remain a good player when it got tougher. ETA: Basically I'm just saying I didn't see it as nuanced, even though most people did. So I'm entitled to hold it against them even if others would be guilty of benefiting from hindsight by doing so. There was never the slightest doubt in my mind that he was not a good player. Well, I as I said, I didn't love him coming out, though I thought more of his scoring ability and probably still do than you. Everyone thought a healthy Embid was going to be a superstar, but after Oden, that was an enormous risk, and after he was hurt, and Wiggins was gone, I just kinda made my peace with him and hoped he developed. I'd still argue that he was more talented than Lee ever was and that two ACL's have robbed him...but after his comment about being paid to score and not play defense, I don't really even care to defend him. Especially when you watch Giannis play the game with reckless abandon and chase guys down on a nightly basis.
-
Well...yeah, I think everyone loves Lillard, don't they? I can't imagine Portland trading him for any combo of players we could have put together that didn't include Giannis the last few years. I mean...I'd prefer he was bigger, but I do love his game. Anyway, I wasn't that concerned with the ACL beyond how it hampered his progress. Usually you can recover from a torn ACL and you don't lose much. Especially when you do it at 19 like he did. I mean...if Giannis tore his ACL, would you be looking to move him? I'm just saying it's rather rare that a knee injury really strips you of your explosive ability at that age. Most guys come back just as strong...very few turn into Derek Rose. Now when you DO tear it a 2nd time....that's when it's over. And this was the first I'd heard that DeAndre Jordan was a potential trade target but we were unwilling to move Parker last year. If that's the case, that's obviously a huge mistake. I did think after the first one, with the length and athleticism we were building around him, that if he could be an elite scorer, not just a volume scorer...we could overcome his failings. I still believe he'll have a long and pretty successful career if he accepts a role coming off the bench as a scorer and "stretch 4," though being a 4 in today's NBA...it's pretty tough to make it if you're NOT a stretch 4. Overall, he was my 3rd favorite prospect coming out when we had the top pick...both the Kansas guys looked a lot better to me. I thought Wiggins would become a better player than he has and I thought Embid could be like Hakeem...but that was Sam Hinke's entire philsophy. Everyone talks about the process. It takes multiple shots usually with those premieum picks. They look like they've missed about as badly as one can on Fultz(ignoring that they had to trade away the pick that ended up being Tatum in the process), Noel was awful...but they hit on two of them and that's all they needed. We got lucky on one lottery ticket that paid off big time, but we only had one other crack at a top pick and that's turned into nothing. I don't even like speculating what it'd look like with Embid and Giannis on the floor together....but hopefully we give Giannis enough around him that we can still find a way to capitalize on the 2nd greatest pick in Bucks history(so far).
-
The trade to dump Delly and Henson was arguably better than the trade he just pulled off. Then there was last years Spencer Hawes trade to save salary as well for Plumlee. His last three significant moves have been brilliant. But he's really gonna be tested this off-season. You either overpay to keep Bledsoe, Middleton and then hopefully some combo of Lopez, Brogdon and Mirotic...or what? You let a couple walk, regress and then deal with Giannis impending Free Agency? I like Brogdon a lot...I think he's a much better player than others do, but now you're paying him 10 million or so per year. Or does Bledsoe continue to play like he has this year, a top 7-8 PG if he gets a near max deal? And Middleton...I don't know how you can replace him, but I also don't think he's a max type player either. So we'll see. At least as of now we have our 1st this year and the Nuggets 2nd(which we likely won't hold onto). It'll be really interesting to see if Horst can take a number of 3+4 type pieces and find enough of them so that Bud can get the Bucks and Giannis to that next level.

By the time the deadline rolled around last year they should have known what they had in Jabari, even in a best case scenario...and Jordan's been a guy I've thought would be a perfect fit. But when you say they're failed to recognize what they had in Jabari for 4 straight years, were you an anti Jabari guy coming out? I personally wanted Wiggins at the time and then when Embid got hurt, wanted nothing to do with him(and I doubt we'd have let him sit for nearly two full years to recover, so he very well may have been out of the league by now as well). But don't you think it's a touch unfair to blame them for not knowing what they had in Jabari earlier? He looked like an explosive player with a good shot. A scorer and not really even a fit in what Kidd was trying to do defensively, but a potential elite scorer regardless. There's an enormous list of mind blowingly stupid moves the Bucks have or haven't made and they USUALLY made the wrong move(again, the worst that comes to mind is moving a 19 year old lottery pick for a guy who said he didn't want to come here and who was only a rental on a team that at best was gonnd be a "tough out" for an 8 seed). I guess the whole Parker saga seems a bit more nuanced than many of their decisions...even going back to Kohls desire to perpetually be a 32-40 win team.

Yeah, that's the point of the Minor League deal. Miley was coming off a 1.7+ whip and over 5BB per 9. The whole point of bringing in veteran depth...particularly with pitchers how have had previous success...is to see if you can get lucky and get a solid season out of them. You're not gonna find starting pitchers with pretty peripherals available for minor league deals Feburary 8th.
