  1. I just want Coulter to hit well. He likely won't dabble with another position till at least Fall Instrucs. It's kind of tough in that we want the kids to be great at one position, but it would be nice if even top prospects dabbled with two positions. Instead of needing to learn a new position at AAA, they can simply refine what they've already played
  2. just curious, but why are the BoSox overrated? Are they rated at all? They have iffy pitching, no left side of the infield, and a bunch of unproven outfielders. I guess I had them pegged as a maybe-.500 team and expected us to take 2/3 from them. Of course, I also thought we'd take at least 2/3 from the Braves All in all, a good start to the season. Capturing 2 from this Phillies squad would be nice. Hopefully they get the game in on Tuesday
  3. I'd rather see Gindl in RF than Schafer. But Braun should not have played today...would have given 3 days in a row off.
  4. Come on Weeks, need you to keep my Beat the Streak alive.
  5. I still think Reynolds is our 1b next year when Morris has a rough year and Reynolds hits 42 hr
  6. wow....heartbreaking for Badgers fans. Two pet peeves from this tournament played out.... 1) why not guard the backcourt even loosely? Wisconsin was allowing Kentucky to have about 32 secs of the ball in the frontcourt (didn't need it all) and this allowed them to be at ease. 2) why not have one of the best shooters have the ball? I know that guys can be well defended. Additionally I'm not a Badgers fan. But I've never seen Jackson make a shot (except free throws). I would have preferred Kaminsky or Dekker get the shot, with Gasser as the 3rd option. Besides that, good effort.
  7. Amazing...how has nobody in MLB figured out what we've known for 8 years!?!? Capuano nearly always alternates change up away, heater/slider in to righties.
  8. Box score I'm looking at says only 2 ER. MLB app has been updated...you're right
  9. I want replay. Tag was over middle of plate after Gogo touched
  10. Gindl not playing in game 2
  11. The 3 runs in the 3rd are unearned but they ruled the "error" on Segura in the 2nd a base hit. The box score says 4 of 5 runs we're earned. To me all the 3rd inning runs should be unearned
  12. Why were 4 of the runs earned? The 3-run homer shouldn't have happened
  13. That's about the 4th grounder to take a weird hop. That one on Ramirez, the Ramirez hit, and the one up the middle that Segura botched that Peralta should have had
  14. Interesting Gindl not playing in game 2 of doubleheader despite being the best outfielder. I wonder if they'll send down Gennett just to cover the outfield
  15. Career avg/obp/slg Reynolds .233/.328/.464 Branyan .232/.329/.485
  16. frustrating on a couple of notes. In Spring Training Braun was awesome. Does this mean he needs 2 days off per week to rest it? Secondly, we need to get Gindl up here so we have a 4th OF with offensive potential.
  17. I'm really excited by the hire. When I saw his name jump onto the list I got really excited. It's too bad that Shaka supposedly backed out, but that was a pipedream anyways. Marquette did its due diligence and likely got a hell of a coach. They have amazing talent that needs to be both kept AND molded into basketball players. Buzz loved to recruit athletes and did so without regard to position. Bo Ryan doesn't really recruit athletes (in general), but takes more polished refined players and teaches them the nuances of the game. Just as Wisconsin fans typically clamor for better athletes (but are overjoyed with this year's success), Marquette fans would like some players that understand the value of passing, moving without the ball, etc. It sounds like Wojo has convinced the team members to stay. Hopefully he can keep some of the recruits to stay. Best of luck to Bucky this weekend. The team has been very fun to watch in the tournament. I made money on them the only time I bet on them this year, and made money 2 of the 3 times I bet against them (darn Oregon choke job). Despite being a Marquette fan (alum of a different school), I enjoy seeing Wisco, UWGB, and UWGB do well.
  18. he's under our control for 4 more years after this season...I see no reason to talk about shopping him yet. Now in 2 years, it's quite possible.
  19. best chance of keeping the awesome recruiting class is Smart. Given Marquette's talent, wing-depth, and lack of size, they could be a perfect team for the Havoc-D
  20. This would be huge for Marquette. Given their issue of some disgruntled players and some recruits wanting out...who wouldn't want to play for Shaka???!?!?!? His up-tempo style would let everyone have chances to shine.
  21. I'd try to sign him for depth. but worked out for us
  22. wow...crazy. I'm bummed since I had the Oregon moneyline. But Oregon did this to themselves....not in blowing the lead, but in the last 1:30 they had 4 rebounds that were fought over by 2 ducks and 0 Badgers, and yet the Badgers got all 4 boards after the Ducks inexplicably tipped the balls away from eachother. Was a fun weekend in Vegas...I can't imagine how crazy the sportsbook was since it was Wisc -6, and they covered thanks to the end of the game.
  23. why not acquire Brett Wallace?
