  1. man, Spurling is not looking good. Although, I figured the game was over when Capellan came in. Hopefully we get out of this and get a run or two
  2. Heareaud at 2nd base? wasn't he drafted at either catcher or 3b?
  3. what's exciting is that with an 8.5 game lead, we could potentially have a 10 game lead around July 1st.
  4. great game for the Crew tonight. Suppan can struggle all he wants as long as we win. It's the low scoring affairs that I want him sharp for.
  5. nice to see Gamel with a homer. And does it seem like Salome is back to catching nearly fulltime? If those two keep it up, they should see Huntsville in late July or early August.
  6. actually, in baseball circles I've heard A often referred to as Rookie ball, too. I don't know why that is, though. Maybe they think of A+ as A, and low A as advanced Rookie.
  7. by my count, I think Will has retired 4 players on groundouts to himself
  8. and the other out was a groundout to Will. So he's responsible for the outs so far
  9. I feel bad for Tennessee today, as they have to face Mr. Inman after he gave up runs. He just might not allow another run all year
  10. I think Cappy could be the one dealt in the offseason, unless they feel they can deal Suppan, which I find unlikely after 1 year. I think we all expect Vargas to be gone in 2008. But that only opens a spot for Yo or Carlos Villanueva. I wouldn't be opposed to that, except once again we should have good depth with Parra, Inman, Jackson, Dillard, Hammond, etc in AAA.
  11. sweet graphic Woogie. A win tomorrow would make it 3 in a row, 7 of 8, and 8 of 10. Keeping this up is huge. A win tomorrow would be nice, because the Royals are like the DRays...not that good, but always can be the thorn in a team's side.
  12. 6 K's in 6 IP...good to see Mercedes can miss the bats of Rookie ballers
  13. so basically Ethridge is the new David Pember?
  14. man, Hall and Fielder absolutely ripped those.
  15. well, let's not let the kid off the hook, let's knock him out in the first round...I mean inning
  16. I think the way the Brewers' offense is rolling, and Lincecum has struggled, he could be in for trouble tonight. As for Sheets, he'll give up his token homer to Bonds. I remember at least twice in the past Sheets has thrown fastballs behind Bonds, but no hoop-la was made of it either time. Should be a good game. And I'm hoping for a win that'll win the series and give us 6 of 7 and 7 of 9.
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing Helena in the Link Report beginning tonight. One of the guys I was curious about from last year likely is opening in Arizona, and that's Shane Hill. I'm surprised to see Newton on this roster. He's from my college, and I didn't hear many good things about his tools and performance in college. Perhaps he has some potential or power that intrigues the organization. Also, with the deep rosters, the Helena squad only has 4 OF listed as of now.
  18. Perhaps I'm not remembering things correctly, but it seems to me that as of now, aren't Sollman, Brantley (small sample alert), Palmisano, Heether, Katin, and Moss performing about on par with the Brewers' original wave of prospects in Weeks, Fielder, Hart, Hardy, and Gwynn? I ask this, looking at their AA stats only. And I understand that a couple are older than the current big leaguers were in AA. It's just nice to see the guys performing at a rather high level, even if their ceilings are lower.
  19. As of now, Angel is thriving in a tough league and tough park. He may stay there till August, with private Lou moving to AAA, but I can't say anyone has surpassed Angel yet. On a current time frame, he'll hit AAA at some point next year.
  20. Mass, that's great to hear that his fastball is still there. Do they have him down to focusing on 3 or 4 pitches, or does he still try like 8 pitches? I wonder if any of these guys could be bullpen options, as the Brewers will have short relief and setup issues in August and September (and next year). It also will be quite interesting to see how they handle these pitchers. Do they move Bush to relief next year or deal him? Vargas will be gone. I like Cappy, but do they try to move him? Lots of fun questions, and it's great that they are made more complex through the success of the minor leaguers.
  21. well, one thing Yo can improve on is his curve. It seems alright, but I don't recall him properly locating more than 1 or 2 all game. Although most of his misses were high, and if you miss very high, they're hard to hit out of the park
  22. Ned Yost, iv...aka, the new Alcides Escobar. I know that's a tough park to hit in, but 1 of 17 hits has gone for extra bases.
  23. how 'bout the balance in the lineup with Weeks hitting 8th?
  24. I'd be tempted to try Shouse for the next inning with the switch hitter and some lefties. Of course, Shouse has been awful lately, and Yo does have 19 pitches for the 100 mark. This is where I wish we had a power, high K reliever for the early innings. I miss Chad Fox.
  25. since Yo can handle the bat, might as well try to send Rickie here and get him in scoring position
