  1. Love to start the game with a double! that's why I always was intrigued with him as a leadoff guy. He has the ability to take the typical "get-me-over" fastballs to the leadoff guy, and do something with them. I wonder how often Rickey Henderson turned on the very first pitch of the game and hit it out of the park, given that it's usually a soft fastball.
  2. man, Weeks sure is seeing it well. And he sure is fast
  3. I'm with ya homer. I remember that, and I remember my days being called a looper when I caddied
  4. Here's hoping for big games from Hart and Hall. I'd love to see them get going
  5. thanks for that link mass. Interesting to hear that the organization is hoping to have Gallardo up for the 2nd half
  6. Colby, just was looking at old drafts...How's Bowman doing in college? I remember I really wanted us to sign him
  7. here we go...let's get Miles, and put the Cards below us in the standings. come on , throw it down the middle since he can't hit it out
  8. gotta love the save for Alec Zumwalt. I forgot the hard thrower was still in the organization.
  9. ouch...I thought Jenkins crushed that pitch...sounded better than it was
  10. wow, Tbow looked filthy there. Now the bottom of the order for Cordero in the 9th
  11. agreed Toby, but a nice effort still.
  12. wow, 99 on the gun. Every other Brewers' pitcher this year has been 2-4 mph lower than last year according to the guns this year, so that 99 is a shock.
  13. Because he's a streaky hitter and tonight is not his night not sure what you mean here, but I was referring to his hitting streak. He can always start another one tomorrow.
  14. Fielder needs a hit here to keep his streak alive. Why not make it a homer?
  15. lets get some more runs boys. Suppan needs a win, and Cordero would like a save
  16. I'm getting worried now. The Cards seem to thrive on situations like this
  17. huge out for Shouse. Let's get through this inning and give it to the gas throwers
  18. As of now, assuming good health, I envision Gallardo coming up in September to work out of the bullpen and get comfortable in the big leagues. That could all change, but I don't see us dealing Vargas at this point. It's possible he gets shifted to the pen since he has such a power arm.
  19. interesting to see Gallardo with only 54 pitches through 4.
  20. also, to show the ruling from yesterday's IGT, thanks to brewers.com: Up in the air: Capuano, the Brewers' union representative, said he had not heard anything about rescheduling Friday's rainout. The Brewers only travel to St. Louis one other time this season, from July 27-29, and both teams are off July 30. But adding a game that day would mean the Brewers would play 27 consecutive days coming out of the All-Star break. The basic agreement says teams should not be scheduled to play more than 20 consecutive days, and it was Capuano's understanding that Brewers players would get to vote on whether to accept adding a game. "They haven't said anything to us yet," Capuano said.
  21. I think Ryan was just getting the error out of the way so he could hit a 3rd homer in the game
  22. nice Prince...man I thought he got all of that. still, good situational hitting. now another run would be nice
  23. wow that's some terrible luck for Suppan. He hit a shot up the middle that either hit Wells' foot or the mound, and took a high hop right to where the 2nd baseman was standing (although he was up the middle quite a bit) oops, I guess that was Graffanino. Man, he looks like a pitcher at the plate
  24. nice catch there by Hart. It sure is nice to have a RF with range. It's crazy, cause Jenkins' range is decent for left, but he always looked horrible in RF
  25. darn, Weeks absolutely crushed that ball, too
