  1. I've got the Cards broadcast on Extra Innings
  2. The last weather report I looked at had a 75% chance of rain tonight yet... where did you see the rain had passed already? I'm looking at the radar on accuweather
  3. supposed to be around freezing (or colder) at game time. yuck. At least the precipitation is gone
  4. radar looks good...should be done raining by the morning.
  5. Wow, don't see a CG too often. Halladay with a 10-inning CG. Congrats. I knew I should have watched that one
  6. There's not any need to play two on Sunday when they are making two more trips there later in the season. Brett, from looking at the schedule, we make one more trip there.
  7. tomorrow's game at 6:10 CDT, not 12:10. Game postponed. No word as to when it will be made up
  8. Ramlow and Periard with some nifty ERAs. Hard to believe Alex is a mere 19 years old, seeing as he was drafted at age 17. EDIT: And technically, Periard was still 16 (a week shy of 17) when drafted in 2004 -- Mass Haas
  9. looks like it's not raining now. The Cards broadcast said they should pull the tarp shortly
  10. I believe the radar makes it seem like we'll have an hour delay, maybe a touch more. But it hasn't rained there today, so the field should be playable
  11. from watching the radar all afternoon (I'm a dork, what can I say), it seems like it's just starting to rain in St. Louis. All the early waves of rain missed the dot denoting the city on radar
  12. Interesting to see that Hall isn't in there despite some success off of Reyes. Although I choose not to blame Yost. More often than not, when there's a bullpen or lineup decision that seems odd, we later find out that there was a very good reason for it. It could be that the field is wet and Hall has had a tight hamstring, or something along those lines.
  13. actually, radar looks sort of promising. The storm is turning a bit northward, and with 2 hours till game time, I can see it being played with only light rain. The southerly edge of the system appears a bit weaker. Perhaps the game starts with around a 20 minute delay.
  14. Plus, it's not the Brwers and Cards decision to "vote" on it. MLB decides how the games are made-up. You don't suppose the Tribe voted to play home games in Milwaukee do you? yes and no. There's a clause in the CBA which says that teams cannot play a certain number of days in a row without Union/player consent. I'm not sure of the number, but it's somewhere in the 20s I believe. A game scheduled for that Monday likely would require a vote at this point in the season. Realistically, I still think it's a DH this weekend or in that series, but not on a mutual off day.
  15. Coutlangus might have been the biggest nut I experienced in my 3 years in the AFL. He's got some good stuff. But man, he's out there. Right up there with Trevor Hutchinson.
  16. man, is Wuertz's slider that good, are are the Reds just all trying to hit grand slams? man, I think he threw one ball over the plate to the two hitters, but got two K's
  17. wow, Ohman is having some bad luck here. He threw two strikes that were called balls JUST because the catcher dropped them. I hate the Cubs, but the Reds are a team that is scary when they start playing well. We face them next week.
  18. Come on Hamilton....rip one into the seats for a Salami
  19. I think they'll probably play tonight, but if not I'm guessing it gets moved to the Monday, July 30 I can't imagine they'd do that, given that teams and players love off days. More than likely the teams would vote to play a double header either Sunday or in the series in July. In general, they always want to keep the off days open in case of future rainouts.
  20. wow, 4 steals against Harang and Valentin already
  21. well, tonight's game seems a wash. The only good thing is that they haven't had rain yet today or yesterday, according to radar. So the field won't be unplayable. If a window develops, it could be possible they play. But most likely we're going to be playing two on Sunday.
  22. With any success, Parra and Jones should reach AAA. I mention Jones because he's already spent parts of 4 seasons at Huntsville now. I wonder if they'll try him in the bullpen at some point. Of course, it depends on what is easier for his arm.
  23. so are these must-win games? I'm kidding. Although I'd love to go 4-1 on the rest of the trip.
  24. hey Mass, any word on Jason Childers?
