  1. it's hard to criticize errors at this point. It's early in the year, it's cold, and given the weather, it's likely that the fields are all in awful shape
  2. so what's the over/under for Inman starts in Brevard before he sees Huntsville?
  3. after acquiring him I had him unranked in my January 2006 brewerfan.net user poll, and that was out of 20 players I think. I was likely the only one with him unranked, to the point where I was asked if I forgot him. I just felt we had 20 players I knew about, and he was one with underwhelming numbers that I knew little about. Last year he had a rather rough year. Yes it was in the PCL, but he hardly performed as most here expected. Let's see how he does in year 2 in Nashville. But as of now, I'd expect contributions from Capellan, Sarfate, Gallardo, Dillard, Hammond, Parra, and Jones before Zach Jackson
  4. also interesting to see that he's suddenly striking guys out. Is he suddenly throwing over 93 for the first time since his Braves days?
  5. pretty cool to have Milwaukee joining Chicago, NY, LA, and the bay area as having two teams. So much for being a small media market, eh?
  6. It might make sense. They have actively shopped Benitez, and perhaps they'd like Capellan for the perceived potential we all once thought he had.
  7. Looks like good nights for two guys I anticipate will be key members of the pen in the 2nd half, Dillard and Hammond
  8. why are all the runs earned? One player scored because of the throwing error, which also allowed the hitter to take 3rd. Seems to me that you could argue 1 or two runs were unearned. Or do they determine that they would have scored on the homer anyways?
  9. Hardy with 3 or 4 deep drives to the warning track on the season so far. interesting to see him using CF and RF more, because before last year he said that he's a dead pull hitter and was going to go back to pulling it more
  10. wow, brewers really tagging the ball so far, just lining into outs. i think the rest of the team has caught the lineout bug from Counsell
  11. come on guys, this is a Brewers-Cubs game. Remember the famous Brant Brown game? Or the Kevin Barker game? Anything can happen
  12. Geez, some folks really give up quickly.
  13. well the good news is I'm not worried yet, as we're facing the Cubs. We know they have a much better lineup than us. Bush's pitches look alright out there. At this point Bush should go out there for the 2nd inning.
  14. should be a well-pitched game tonight. I'm hoping for 2 of 3 this weekend
  15. why on earth was Weeks going on that ground ball with the drawn in infield with only 1 out? Where is the 3rd base coach to remind him to make sure it goes through? at the time it appeared the game might be 2-1. They probably had Weeks running on contact. In that case, once the pitch leaves the hand, there's no communication from the 3b coach
  16. heck of a play by Counsell. So far he's tagging the ball pretty well this year. The ole at 'em balls
  17. I would think the Dodgers will be overly anxious against Suppan, which fits into his game plan. He wants them to hit his pitches. My prediction: Brewers 4, Dodgers 3 Suppan goes 6.2 scattering 7 hits 3 runs and a walk, while striking out 4 Also, perhaps someone w/photo shop skills could create their own brewerfan.net sweep suits. It might be a fun diversion for some
  18. If Hall slides, he likely has it. Not a terrible call, as it was a decent risk with one of our fastest runners heading home.
  19. For as incredibly slow as Jeff Kent is, he sure plays a nice 2nd base. He always amazes me.
  20. wow, what a noodle arm. Of course, that's why I thought he only should DH. People out here would get angry, because they thought Gonzo was a god, and couldn't fathom someone questioning his skills
  21. Wolf is hardly a scrub. At the same time, I am waiting for Woogie's new in-game thread. I need it...or more cow bell
  22. so, is it too early to think about a sweep? Now everyone, please be careful this year. Last year brewerfan.net was ridiculed on espnews for a thread suggesting we try to trade for Santana.
  23. in AZ, I programmed it for the channel as part of the MLB package, and mine recorded just fine with DirecTV
  24. also, just looking at the lineup...can anyone recall a contender having its LF, RF, and 3b hitting 6th, 7th, and 8th? We have some power and talent at untraditional positions!
  25. The tough thing for me will be that the game is on at 11 here, but I likely won't get home till after 3 or 4. Not only is that no game updates, but I also won't turn my phone on as I don't want to have any friends calling to tell me how the Crew did. Then I'll get to watch the game since I recorded it. Of course, with my luck, the game will go 15 innings and the DVR will shut off.
