  1. come on WGN, even spring training games should feature radar gun readings
  2. Ben looked good after the first inning. But boy that first inning was harsh when every pitch was above the belt and the curves were terrible
  3. Hart with another hit. Not showing much power, but that'll come over time
  4. Fielder with his second nice pick on throws from Hardy
  5. perfect. check out that textbook strikeout. Maybe now Weeks won't lock up, and will go down swinging next time. Thanks Wes, that that lesson also, maybe he's not slimmer. After the hit, they did a closeup of Helms and maybe it's just his haircut
  6. square, how about a screenshot of the newer, slimmer Helms tv makes him look like he's lost even more weight
  7. wow, I'd forgot how slow Jenkins is
  8. wow, pretty obvious what Maddux said. Finish the delivery and miss down. If he threw 5 pitches after the visit, the only one up nearly took off Blanco's head
  9. this looks terrible. He's only gotten on top of one curveball out of about 10.
  10. are these changeups or curves? I haven't seen any of them drop a bit, but they're obviously slower than the heaters edit: the second strike to Hollandsworth was a good curve.
  11. has Ben gotten a non-heater near the plate? edit, well, that hanger was over the plate. Still, it has about 1/3rd the break that we saw last year
  12. see, and the mechanics really do wonders as they make him throw meaty fastballs above the belt
  13. now to see the mechanical changes for Hendrickson... -last year his bottom and top halves weren't together. Watch...his motion from start to peak of leg kick is slower and more controlled. Arms aren't flailing...glove closer to body, much tighter looking
  14. That looked high IMO on Weeks... it was below his waist.
  15. come on Weeks, that was right down the middle, mid thigh
  16. you can get awefully excited if you're driving to Indiana and successfully made it through the Chicago area without any traffic. Of course, right when you get excited, you find a pothole that's more like a massive sinkhole and you get angry again
  17. two things: -I click on tshirts, and some show up with meanings that have nothing to do w/the site -any chances of a bucket hat?
  18. also, why De La Rosa for one? Are there going to focus him only for relief? Or is it so he can throw an inning today and then come back on Monday for 2-3? also, just listened to Daron's comments (2:50:51-2:52:31 in case you want to hear the brewerfan.net plug, Brian). He spent more time discussing my last name than anything and unfortunately he didn't actually address my questions, but it's still pretty cool to have my question read. I also had no clue that submitting the question can land me some tickets, so that's doubly-cool.
  19. Crew loses 5-1. The lone run was a solo shot by Miller. notable, because as of the last time I checked, Street hadn't even allowed a baserunner this spring. He's a great pitcher, and having known him I can say he's the kind of individual you can't help but root for. Treats everybody wonderfully
  20. I think the final was 5-1. Helling with the loss
  21. sweet, thanks. Yeah, yesterday he was pleading with fans to email. Thought he and Drew would have some insight to support or shoot down my observations. I mentioned Krynzel and Hendrickson as making nice changes. I think my questions dealt with the velocity of Hendrickson and Sam Narron. And yes, I figured it wouldn't hurt adding "of Brewerfan.net" at the end of my email
  22. DHonks, i assume that's you that just won 4 tickets to a game and a chance to win tickets to opening day? really? I was out to lunch and watching NCAA games. The only way that'd be possible is because I submitted a question yesterday in which I wanted their thoughts on some of my observations....darn. If these are archived, I may have to listen
  23. it's funny, last year I was unsure of Obermueller entering the season, but probably 90% here were in love with him. I see his potential and am intrigued, but now at least 90% here can't stand him
  24. -nearest custard stand -ability to tailgate? -best seats for that time of year (eg, don't sit 1st base side at Miller Park on the main level when it's 85 with 85% humididy) -for spring training: places to stay given the schedule--for instance, if while here the Crew is in the east valley mainly (Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix) vs the northwest valley (surprise, peoria) vs mainly at Maryvale.
  25. well, it's very gray outside...no sunlight. Lights should be on at the park today, with the threat of rain. Could help the vampire
