  1. way to get on any way possible Brady.. damn it!!!
  2. good idea w/a good hitting pitcher up, the problem is the ball was over his head
  3. wow, a 3to reference. but what abou the doubles?
  4. I always liked Kasper in Milwaukee. Plus, he always answered my emails promptly. Great announcing voice.
  5. what's crazy is the walk to Ramirez looked like strike 3. Over the plate, just above the belt. I think Miller dropping it was the problem
  6. anyone know how the weather is looking? Is the wind blowing out or in?
  7. wow, am I seeing that right? Weeks, Krynzel, and Nelson each walked, with Nelson managing 2? let's hope it's the start of something
  8. also, Hunstville down 1-0 still after 6 according to USAToday.com
  9. I know this is still very early but why does Cappellan keep getting smacked around how can someone "keep" getting smacked around, when it's their first start?
  10. what's neat about today is we have 5 prospects throwing
  11. And what a great lineup of pitchers on night one- Capellan, Eveland, Pena and Rogers! here's hoping for a lot of those nights. no more nights when all I had to look forward to were Poe or Mieses. Capellan, Hendrickson, Housman, Parra, Eveland, Sarfate, Pena, etc etc etc. There's about 15 pitchers I am really looking forward to following, with at least 5 in WV
  12. I understand, but I'm just thinking of Rushford. He gives up. Then later his wife convinces him to try. He makes very little at first, but now he's probably making about $80k a year in AAA and is in high demand as a guy to have in AAA as insurance
  13. Don't pollute the game threads with political/religious topics, DHonks batman, just pointing out that the truth is in the middle. K's aren't always better than other outs, and other outs aren't always better than K's. You know, it's not posts that cost money, it's page views. Square, it'll be interesting to hear any statistics as to how much money a few of us more active visitors save the site simply by becoming EZsupporters.
  14. Case Study #2 on when putting the ball in play is better than a K: Magruder's at bat sets things up so Hardy scores on WP
  15. thanks SBS. By then Capellan and Hendrickson will have made their first starts. Hopefully they'll be in line to replace Glover and Santos by August
  16. well, talking about 3 innings. Could try Obermueller the rest of the way. I think De La Rosa is most likely though. Unless they want some work for the backend guys for the weekend
  17. and for the weekend, do we know if we're going Capuano, Sheets, Glover/Santos?
  18. No use missing several months when you're slated to be back in low A, or a reserve in high A. what about chasing a dream?
  19. Doug should be able to go to about 110 pitches since he gets 5 days off this time
  20. good to see Jenks going the other way a bit more. He always does his best hitting when he's doing that.
  21. clancy, Ueck had the correct point. If it requires a perfect throw, then put the pressure on the defense.
  22. case study #1: when putting the ball in play is better than a strikeout.
  23. I should mention that as of the Overbay HBP, the 4 guys I mentioned as not doing much are combined: 1-9 2 runs, 3 walks, 2 hbp
  24. what's nice is we're up 6-0, and Clark, Overbay, Jenkins, and Miller (4 guys in the top 7, all being counted on) have yet to do anything offensively
  25. by the way, I was working Dbacks minor league camp for the last week (they needed an extra hand), and David Nilsson is in camp as a coordinator, and he has to be about 60 pounds above his playing weight. Hard to believe he tried playing last year. Just thought I'd mention that somewhere
