  1. 11 hits for us, 5 walks, and 4 Houston errors, and we only got 3 runs. Ouch!
  2. come on Russell..how 'bout a homer!
  3. 5 steals in the game, think Trent will be running?
  4. come on Lamb, need another error. of course, we need to put the ball in play first
  5. i don't like our chances in the 9th
  6. huge inning now. Need to score to keep Lidge from coming in the game. Also, can Pods make it 4 steals ?
  7. So I was sitting with my old college roommate the other night, discussing the dbacks. I suggested how they might make an effort to improve. First off, it appears they are targeting Clement and Pavano, but both could be pricing themselves out of AZ's range. Others to consider would be Radke, Lowe, and Ortiz (have seen this in writing actually). I also suggested a move that I've wished the Brewers would consider (Al agreed with me). That is that the Dbacks should try to acquire Kieschnick from the Crew, and give him a try as a starter. If he can go 5-6 innings and get 2 or 3 at bats every 5th day, while also being a pinch hitter, he could become even more productive than in a relief role. Of course, I'd still consider this for the Crew for next year, but only if Kolb or Vizcaino is gone. As it stands now, it would seem that Adams and Liriano might be moving in as short-relievers (7th inning) with Bennett still holding his own.
  8. first off, good to see Branyan with a hit. Secondly, isn't Hendrickson scheduled to pitch early next week? Finally, congrats that on this slow evening, we are on page 2 of the thread, potentially able to reach #3
  9. and Ueck sure was excited, too. Hey Mass, who was the pregame guest, anyone exciting?
  10. Has Rich Donnelly had more men thrown out at home in September than he had the rest of the year prior? I'm pretty sure Mass. I never had thought of Bonds, Berkman, or Beltran as having great arms. Still, besides the finish of last night's game, the rest were out because of perfect throws. When you can't score runs, you need to take some chances
  11. Pods on base not once, not twice, but thrice thus far
  12. Mass, who is slower, Moeller or Bennett? I guess I had Moeller in the elite class with Julio Franco, Carlos Baerga, and Eddie Perez.
  13. I just got confused by the gameday. What a sad 2nd
  14. Mass, as I said early in this thread, I'm glad we don't have Lamb for his defense. He didn't impress me at all...I'll take Russell over him for sure. As for Sheets, great game. But the difference is we were in a huge offensive park, and one pitcher had a GO:FO of around 3 or 4, the other at around .25. Guess which guy won the game?
  15. now that's discouraging. Why not just finish sending Magruder instead of holding him up at the last second. I can handle him being thrown out from RF, not in a rundown
  16. great job there sending the runner...come on Brooks
  17. good to see Moeller isn't batting. I am so sick of him. If people can bash Bennett all year, why doesn't Moeller get flak?
  18. uh oh, 2 hits. Don't tell Clancy or we might have talk of Sheets starting at catcher over Moeller
  19. it's amazing just how slow Moeller is. Two outs tonight, and he should have reached on an infield hit and an error. put Bennett or Johnson in, I am fed up with Moeller
  20. So what if it hits the yellow line? Not a homer, or a homer? Confusing. kind of like how people misinterpret the rules. For instance, a runner is out or safe....there technically is no such thing as "tie goes to the runner", because you are either safe or out.
  21. damn it...terrible play by Keith. Luckily Sheets has his back
  22. how can they call that a homer? I like it
  23. just wondering, why is Kent trying to steal? He's among the slowest men in the game...right htere with Eddie Perez, Chad Moeller, and Carlos Baerga
  24. that's right folks, tune in while you can and see the Brewers winning. We haven't been able to say that much lately
  25. Ben going with his Norm of the North Woods look. He hasn't shaved in probably 4 days. He's hitting 97 this inning against Berkman
