  1. LOL - A guy could be 0-80 and Yost wouldn't know it and start the guy. I would start a guy 0-80....he's due
  2. I can't recall a deeper shot at Miller Park. That hit the metal support structure below the track!
  3. 16 GiDP for Jenkins. I never thought I'd say this, but couldn't Geoff just strike out with men on 1st or 1st and 2nd?
  4. Ben with a 9 pitch inning...way to get back on track. And boy, Branyon's swing sure looks pretty. One of those sweet swings where it's max-effort, but doesn't look like it. Kind of like when JEnkins is swinging right it looks smooth.
  5. Jenks?? Single?? yeah, great to see him not overswing and just dump it into left. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
  6. right now I think we can all dream of: cf Pods ss Counsell rf Grieve 1b Overbay 3b Branyan 2b Hall lf Clark C Moeller put the OBP guys before Lyle, then the slugger, and please give Geoff a day--no no, a week--off.
  7. And this is why the team is so bad. why, cause he's batting 6th and not Jenkins. Face it, Clark isn't terrible. He's not great, but he's solid. But right now he's on fire, and I'd rather he be batting 3rd than Jenkins
  8. 9. wow, High Desert with 12 K's, yet none by Enrique! he sure is starting to heat up again. It'll be interesting to see his July totals.

  11. wow, thanks for the updates fellas...awesome job, and a very fun read
  12. some notes...Enrique Cruz with a walk, a sacrifice, and a stolen base. Kade Johnson back up to .250!!! definitely needs to be given a shot in AAA next year for us. and Barnes with only 3 K...what's up with that?
  13. I can feel we are getting closer to seeing some minor leaguers up with the big team . . . 7rebmun what minor leaguers? Do you think Hart is ready? How about Krynzel? Both will be called up in Sept since they're on the 40-man, but I seriously doubt either will be here to stay until the allstar break next year.
  14. How 'bout Webb and Lowe, though? They're on a whole 'nother planet in terms of inducing groundballs, although neither has been successful this year. Bill, take another look at Webby. 4 or more ER only 4 times this year. 3.82 ERA fewer hits than IP Webby is having a great year on a terrible team. Kind of amazing. You can see why when AZ called about Sexson last May, we told them all offers started with Webb.
  15. Ben looks solid? Have you missed the doubles and triple and homer? yes, he's facing arguably the best lineup in baseball, and they scratched out 2 runs early, had one good homer, and then got lucky by having a hard hit grounder right at Overbay, only to have a terrible hop. Bad hops happen, but Ben only allowed 3 runs, the field allowed the other. Hence why I made my statement
  16. some observations through 6.1: -Sheets looks solid tonight -Marquis looks awesome. Some pitchers appear "good" because of us, but he looks outstanding tonight. -Ump has a big strikezone both on the corners and up high. -Overbay with a terrible hop at first -Pods' hit and Helms' hit were both close to being outs -looks like Jenks' should have caught that one...must have been wind
  17. wow, Ginter went the other way! If Jenkins manages to reach base twice tonight, then I want the odds on the Vikings winning the Superbowl....Hell will have frozen over
  18. while I like this look, I have to once again point out that it's supposed to be statistically proven that if you selected batting order by drawing names out of a hat, they'd produce similarly to the "ideal" lineup. Plus, JANelson, can it get any worse? why not try experimenting with things.
  19. I'm going to brand these 4 games the key 4. We can escape losing tonight if we can take 2 of 3 in Houston. No matter what, we need at the very least to take 2 of these 4 games.
  20. gotta say I like our chances here. We seem to be holding our own with the Cards. We all feel comfortable playing the Reds. But our multi-year slumps vs the Pirates and Reds really hurts. We need to have a good 5 games here vs the Cards and Astros
  21. don't forget, Manny has the slightly torn shoulder that he supposedly suffered working out at Miller Park after signing. It appears rehab worked though
  22. solid lineup today...but is that 11:15 AM for Indy?
  23. no luck right now with the lineup. Our 1-5 guys go 6-21 with 4 walks, yet we're not stringing any hits together. Sounded like the Reds weren't hitting the ball that hard off of Lil Ben, just placing it well. Groundball single to rf, liner just over Counsell, etc. Okay Ben, the next one is key. Need a big start or when that off day comes up in August we'll have an excuse to send you down
  24. I don't think RS and RA really works for judging records kind of obvious thus far. entering the 2nd half, the brewers and reds were over .500 but had allowed more than they'd scored, but the Astros were at .500 and has scored quite a bit more than they'd allowed
  25. thus Ben couldn't throw his curve out of the zone and he got hammered. Ben threw great curves at the belt that froze several hitters for apparent strike 3's, only they were called balls. Then on the next pitch they got hits. Can't fault him. And, he never got hammered. They didn't hit him hard at all.
