  1. Another loss tonight at home. What happened to those 2,000+ new season ticket equivalents they supposedly sold? The BC looks more empty than ever. The signings this offseason are looking pretty bad so far. Hopefully that changes or it's going to be a looooong season and all the interest and attention the Bucks generated last year will disappear, possibly for good.
  2. Fun fact: 97% of new baseball managers say their new team is going to be more aggressive and run more during their introductory press conference.
  3. That would be me. Just a joke more than anything. Hopefully the site never has to be used for any real campaigning http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. The details in the packet pretty much made my decision easy to not renew my 20-pack for next season. Requiring payment by November to lock in the current ticket prices is crazy. Why not let us see what changes are made to the on-field product before requiring payment? Between that, no media guide, worthless-to-me "gift" (the 40th anniversary print last year was much better) and no longer having a presale for individual game tickets unless you have a full season package, I'm done. I'll pick up cheap tickets on the secondary market, and if the team plays like they did this year, there should be plenty of inventory at well below face value (and well below season ticket prices).
  5. I have one of those from an end-of-season-gift-pack given to season ticket holders years ago. Might be time to list it.
  6. I know its not a popular opinion, but I really think Uecker should just do home games to limit the wear and tear on his body. Give him time off during road trips to fish or do whatever he wants without the stress and hassle of traveling city to city. He's never going to volunteer to stop doing games, so someone should do it for him.
  7. I seriously doubt that is the case. He probably thought better of what he said, especially the profanity, and knew he couldn't just delete them without some explanation. The tweeets sounded exactly like something he would have said. I bet the "hacked" excuse was just to save face.
  8. The forum at RealGM.com is pretty good.
  9. From McCalvy on Twitter: Trevor Hoffman earned an extra $250,000 by finishing home finale. His '11 buyout increased from $500k to $750k with 35 games finished.
  10. 2-year extension signed according to Haudricourt. EDIT: link
  11. One "quirk" I noticed - 3 weekend home series in a row in May (13-15, 20-22, 27-29)
  12. Of course he does. I don't think anyone doubts that. The guy is a businessman first. Of course owning a baseball team is a lot more "fun" than owning other assets but he's probably looking to make a significant amount of $ on the deal. I have no doubt that once he feels like he's reached the point of diminishing returns as far as the value of the club, he'll sell and move on.
  13. If we do it for him, might as well do it for Sabathia too. No on both.
  14. And of course the Brewers show it's all about the $ as they have the commemorative t-shirts ready to go (and probably for sale in the store as you read this). Gotta believe those have been sitting in boxes since April.
  15. Sponsors will usually pay for the giveaway items, and with the down economy, they probably can't justify the expense for more "premium" giveaways.
  16. That 9/28/08 game should almost be considered one "moment". Sabathia's pitching, Braun's HR, against the Cubs, then watching the Mets lose.
  17. If WMLW does indeed go to HD, none of that should matter. The problem is that WMLW is a sub-channel of WDJT (CBS 58). There is only so much bandwidth they can use for all their subchannels (usually not enough for 2 simulatneous HD streams + their other sub-channels). First priority will be whatever primetime programming is on CBS at the time, so don't expect great quality on WMLW. They might even just go with a widescreen, non-HD feed. The picture quality will be better, but it likely won't be true HD.
  18. This Parra kid looks promising. Maybe he should get a chance to start one of these days...
  19. Boo birds out for Gomez tonight. Can't say I blame them too much.
  20. Seemed like a who's who of Wisconsin sports. Besides all the Brewers-related people you had Herb Kohl, Ron Wolf, Bob Harlan, Barry Alvarez & Pat Richter.
  21. The fact that some people still think Parra deserves a spot in the rotation is just laughable.
  22. Gotta get Hoffman these last few saves so the marketing dept. can start selling the 600 save merch. It's all about the $. Gotta make at least some of his salary back.
  23. If you think other teams were offering us lackluster deals now, just wait until the offseason when they know we're going to be even more desperate to move these guys (and they'll only have the player under contract for 1 playoff run vs. 2 if they did the deal now which should hurt what we're offered as well).
