  1. No, hes average at 2B, and doesnt have the range to play SS.
  2. If Yuni played 3B, he'd probably be okay. It'd hide his brutal range better than SS and with how pathetic 3B has played around MLB this year, he could be a solid 3B option if he continues his current approach.
  3. The Angels are gonna fall out of that race out west, TEX is going to run away with it. So I'd expect him to waive it if he went to MIL. Plus, I'd give up Gamel for Ramirez. This is a "go for it" year, and to be honest, I don't think Gamel is ever going to be anything special.
  4. A Barmes/Wandy package would be epic, but unlikely. I'd just take Barmes at this point and be happy with it.
  5. It'd take a ton to get him, he's one of the top 5 SS in baseball. Plus the Chi-Sox are still hanging around in the Central.
  6. 3, but that's an outdated an ineffective way to measure defense. His UZR/150 is -7, which is quite bad, but that's phenomenally better than Yuni's epically pathetic -19.5.
  7. Great bench guy, wouldn't use him more than a spot starter though.
  8. Too bad New York or Florida would hang up the phone laughing. Couple years ago the Red Sox called about Hanley - Theo offered something like Lester, Pedroia, Ellsbury. The Marlins hung up in 20 seconds. Haha, WHOOPS!
  9. Only way I can see a Beltran trade happening is a 3-team deal that involves Corey Hart going to a 3rd team, that 3rd team sending back a SS to MIL and prospects to NY, and MIL sending prospects. Crazy, but I can't see it otherwise.
  10. I just checked MLBTR and found nothing that said they were geting offers or anything of the sort, do you have a link?
  11. Better: Pujols Gonzalez Cabrera Votto Teixeira
  12. I really like Tyler Colvin as a player. Think he deserves to play.
  13. The great curveball and he has a very deceptive delivery. And great FB location right on the corner.
  14. Agreed, Kotsay doesn't bring anything special to the table. I'd take Reed/Boggs over him.
  15. I actually like him better than Yuniesky Betancourt at SS. Betancourt is average with the bat, but has a low OBP, and is an awful defender. His WAR the past 2 years has been .6 and -1.7. I feel that even if Cruz is slightly worse offensively, he's a good defender and I think he'd be a better option since the defense of the team is bad.
  16. Gamel is better defensively at 3B than McGehee, as is every other 3B. X - is McGehee really that bad defensively? Thanks. Just read something on JSO that said McGehee's defense is the worst for a 3B in the NL. Gamel wouldn't neccesarily have to play 3B either (though that'd be ideal if he could handle the position because he has a rocket) but 3B aren't that difficult to find whereas if we could flip McGehee to ATL in the offseason we could get a good pitching prospect on the verge of the majors (cuz Chipper's career is over).
  17. I'd rather sport a rotation of... 1. Jeff Suppan 2. Geremi Gonzalez 3. Dontrelle Willis 4. Tom Glavine 5. Chuck Lofgren Then ever bring in Z and that awful contract.
  18. A lot of our prospects at the lower-end of our system are having a lot of success (Odorizzi, Davis, Roberts). Do you think any of these guys could expect promotions prior to season's end? Personally I think Odorizzi has to be promoted before the end of the season. He's been coddled through the low levels and is pitching to a 3.04 ERA with the T-Rats and I'd like to see him continue his success in Brevard County before season's end to see if he could be in Huntsville in early 2011. I have a similar case with Kentrail Davis, who's been annihilating the ball with the T-Rats, he struggled with a "heat related illness" in Brevard earlier this year but he has to show he can hit against better pitching and I'd like to see Davis in Huntsville at some point in mid 2011. I don't expect a promotion from Tyler Roberts who's hitting great in Rookie Ball, only 19 he may ride out the rest of the season there and then start 2011 with the T-Rats. Brett Lawrie could very well get a promotion to AAA, but he'd probably have to change positions in order to see any substaintial and consistent playing time at only one spot. As for other guys, I expect Lorenzo Cain to be promoted again following the Carlos Gomez likely concussion (he reportadly has dizziness). I don't see why Amaury Rivas isn't in AAA right now, he's pitched well at every level and I think he needs to show that he can pitch against more experienced hitters, right now I see him as a Carlos Villanueva clone. Mat Gamel will be up in September, but barring injury we won't see him before hand. Scooter could very well find his way to Brevard, but he's so young they might be better served keeping him in WIS.
  19. Amaury Rivas would make sense, but Heckathorne/Jeffress/Peralta/Scarpetta, etc. shouldn't be thrown into the Major League rotation. There is a lot of truth IMO to that "shellshocked" theory, you just lose confidence in your stuff, it's like throwing a JV pitcher into a Varsity game, he's not prepared for it.
  20. The Angels would trade Kazmir for the countrys national debt right now.
  21. Agreed. McGehee doesn't hit well enough to be an above average 1B anyways. .275, 25 HRs isn't impressive as a 1B.
  22. Ideal for Gamel to be a RF, he's got a cannon for an arm, but he's poopy infielder. With Corey going to be traded in the offseason this move makes a lot of sense.
  23. This is the worst deadline in my memory for sellers. Elite prospects aren't moving (barring the Brett Wallace for Anthony Gose prospect swap) and Roy Oswalt and Dan Haren deals were bad for the teams (although the Stros turned Gose into Brett Wallace). In most other years the Crew would've brought in a slew of good prospects, two elite ones and we'd be gearing up for a great team in 2012.
  24. The Mariners wouldn't go for this at all. The best option would be to trade Lawrie/Gamel to the Mariners for Pineda.
