  1. Not that I'm complaining, but when a .744 OPS is cherry picked...it might say something.
  2. Just want to highlight this post as the first time in game thread message board history that a manager has ever been complimented for a pitching move.
  3. I pretty much NEVER agree with HD, but he is spot on here. It's hard to believe how fast the zeitgeist switched from "how can you pull him????" to "How can you leave him in???" Good lordl
  4. LOL all y'all are crazy. if the pitch count was even moderately high OR if the game was close....sure...but gimme a break.
  5. It always seemed like Chourio's "issue" with not walking had nothing to do with pitch recognition or anything like that...it just seemed like EVERY time he swung he put the ball in play rather than fouling it off or missing it altogether. I might be completely wrong, and I know there are stats out there to show how wrong I am which somebody will hopefully post here....
  6. Did something happen here? What's up with the Twins Unis? I fear my mother might cheer for the wrong team...let alone the site owner...
  7. For good or bad, I'm highlighting Majkowski-Misiorowski. Sharpe. Chourio.
  8. I'm a bit confused here, due to BrusiedCrew's truly 180 degree spin thru a dizzying....dare I say re-troll of some sort of droll opinion unhinged from it's sand placed foundation? I pity for our nation.
  9. Shrug. The guy was WHITE HOT for a month and has been ICE COLD for a month. If anybody knows what his value will be at the deadline they are lying. That said, he isn't cheap, so he isn't overly valuable no matter how hot he his. If you don't get a piece that you really liie....a la Adam Lind for Freddy Peralta or something like that he is probably more valuable to the Brewers.
  10. Back-to-back gritty performances by Megill. I don't want an ERA of 4.5 and a WHIP of 2.00 from my closer but dang....I thought he again executed extremely well. A guy who can throw 102 and then also command a huge breaking ball isn't easy to find. The fastball is straight and hittable if you can catch up to it, but a lot of guys can't catch up to it--especially after seeing 2 or 3 yakkers.
  11. I actually thought Megill's outing was extremely mature...Dillard touched on this in the postgame, but everything he did made sense relative to the situation. 2 run lead--Arenado at the plate. 4 straight knuckle curves--two! for called strikes!!... and gets him on a fastball flyball. 2 run lead 1 out--Nolan Gorman at the plate. 1st pitch fastball is a double to the gap. tip your cap. 2 run lead guy on 2nd....Pages at the plate. 6 pitch strikeout with good mix and location. 2 run lead guy on 2nd 2 outs--no power Victor Scott at the plate. 6 pitch AB....good mix good location didn't walk a no power guy and he hit a single on an decently located 99 mph fastball. tip your cap. 1 run lead, guy on 1st 2 outs--dominated a struggling Nootbaar with 3 straight well located knuckle curves. game over. Megill is good. He's not the best closer in the league like we are used to having, but he is good.
  12. And Civale MJST be happy not having to pitch from the bullpen while also under the pressure of needing to...win...or just wanting to win....for a franchise that values...winning. Although if he finishes out the year well as a starter...losing for the White Sox.... he'll prolly have a nice vacay in Cabo this winter. with his representation... ...
  13. Kind of. Freddy didn't leave the game with a no-no but he went 5.1 innings before giving up a hit in his debut, as they showed on the broadcast.
  14. It took off 2 years ago when he started the prospect all-star game. Gunna be full speed this week.
  15. Or maybe the inflammation made it difficult to diagnose a hairline fracture...like they said.
  16. I really doubt that....what possible incentive do they have to deliberately falsify a medical report?
  17. Just highlighting this cuz it literally made me LOL...but only after reading it a 2nd or 3rd time. I might be slow...
  18. I don't even really think he needs a whole lot of conscious adjustments, he just needs more experience and maturity. It's one thing to see 1000 MLB pitches as a still physically maturing 20 year old. It's another to have seen 10000 MLB pitches as a fully mature 23 year old. Of course, it would be good to get that 10000 number a little sooner :)
  19. I was at a game in Fenway (my only game in Fenway) like 8 years ago where if I recall Austin Jackson caught a ball while robbing a homer in that goofy corner in CF they have and flipped over the fence afterwards...which is my only comp to that Clarke catch. EDIT: here it is:
  20. LOL--Easton McGee is recalled and Grant Anderson optioned. So no Misiorowski yet. i'm guessing they pitch McGee if they need him and exchange him for Mis whenever they plan on Mis pitching, which apparently isn't today...
  21. Priester is a ground ball machine--right into our gold glove mitts. And he only has 1 option left. I doubt he is optioned. Grant Anderson is a righty who threw 42 pitches yesterday--it's likely him being optioned but he only has one left too so maybe not. Could be Hall... I never thought of putting Woody back on the 60 day IL...I doubt that happens thought either. They have a lot of fodder to DFA (Peguero/Hudson/McGee/ERod/CarRod) to make room on the 40 man. It will prolly be something I haven't mentioned though.
