  1. Well, bad OFs have a 0% of catching it, good OFers have a 50/50 chance of catching it, that's what make the overall percentage around 32%.
  2. What's with all the bad juju tonight? Yikes.
  3. I do not like leadoff BBs to Mac Williamson... How is that guy still in the League?
  4. Official scorer didn't help Davies out by ruling the chopper to Arcia a hit.
  5. If we don't score 5+ tonight I'll be surprised.
  6. Then dropped it while trying to pick it up just to ensure Braun didn't have to sprint to 2nd.
  7. The bashing of Domingo Santana and relative love for Ben Gamel is rather ridiculous in this forum! Domingo has 13 more homeruns, a 28-point higher batting average, 42 more RBI's, and 4 more stolen bases! If the guy could play first base it would have been great had they moved Aguilar instead of Domingo last year. But from all accounts the Astros tried that in the minors and it went very poorly. The guy can't play in the NL.
  8. If Domingo makes a diving catch it will be because he hesitated when the ball was hit, took two steps back then frantically rushes in.....no, he still wouldn't dive. Despite him playing deeep in RF the wall is too far back there to rob a HR too. He'll just turn around and try to play it off the wall.
  9. 13 games before the break. I'll say they go 8-5, but are 8-4 on July 6th, putting them at 50-40 for the season and 10 games over .500. They'll go 10-8 in the remaining 18 games in July putting them at 60-49 entering August.
  10. Not an "event" to travel to for road fans? I would easily go to Vegas to see the Brewers for a 3 game series, and I'm not a Vegas guy by any means. Cheap plane tix and rooms and endless things to do and see and eat when not going to the game. They'd have to be in an A/C dome though.
  11. None of this is in dispute. What IS in dispute is the value of a guy like Lewis Brinson. Prospect value CAN be kind of predictive in aggregate (the top 25 prospects every year will likely produce XXX amount of WAR in their careers....however, most of that value is coming from 5 guys or so, then the rest of it is coming from the next 5-8 guys or so and the other 50%+ of guys in that top 25 will literally produce 0 value to an MLB club. (My numbers are approximate. I'd welcome correction from those in the know)
  12. Sure you can! I did!
  13. I'm not completely sold on any of those guys. I am completely sold on Hader...and if we have a chance to get to the WS this year with the guys we have (and I still think we do) I want Hader on my team. It's as simple as that. I might change my tune in a month, if we are still hovering around .500 and the pitching staff continues to fail. Then the reward of getting those future years will easily surpass the risk of keeping Hader for a WS run. Still, I really think we can trade Hader, Grandal and Moustakas for a SERIOUS haul in July and perhaps re-sign Moose or Grandal this offseason, which would set us up very nicely for the years to come.
  14. For all of the Johnson envy going on tonight, his coaching has really come up short in the last 3 innings.
  15. Shaw has to be reaching some historically bad milestones pretty soon. What is the worst BA for a player with 200 or more PAs in a season?
  16. Couple of BS baserunners never helps. Launchpad Anderson's countdown to liftoff in 10, 9, 8....
  17. Question for the room that I am honestly curious to hear the answer to... Would you trade Josh Hader right now if it meant the return would be the exact three players the Pirates sent to the Rays for Chris Archer last year (Austin Meadows, Tyler Glasnow, and top 100 prospect Shane Baz)? Note: This is just a hypothetical for survey purposes, not something that I am proposing is actually a possibility. I wouldn't RIGHT NOW, but I would in a month if the pitching staff remains as poor as it has been the last couple of weeks.
  18. If you have diabetes, then the sugar is already in the piss, making added sugar unnecessary for Corn Flakes.
  19. I agree that the sell scenario is very unlikely and would require the losses to continue to pile up over the next month, but it isn't unprecedented for a competitive team to get a boost from making trades during a down season. The best example that comes to mind are the Yankees in 2016 trading Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller and Carlos Beltran. In exchange they received (among several others) Gleyber Torres, Adam Warren, Clint Frazier, Justus Sheffield, Erik Swanson (Sheffield and Swanson were later traded for James Paxton), and Dillon Tate. On the date the Yankees made the first of those three trades (July 25) they were 51-48 and just 7.5 games back of both the division lead and the wildcard. Those trades ultimately spring-boarded their chances for greater future success. Now obviously the Brewers don't likely have someone they would consider parting with that would bring back a Gleyber Torres type prospect, but if it is clear come the end of July that things aren't breaking their way then they better at least listen to offers on players like Moose and Grandal. Only Yelich is untouchable on this roster. Maybe Woodruff too. Hader is far more valuable to a WS type team than he is to any other team (i.e. The Brewers IF the slide continues and we become sellers), and we could really use a few more prospects to infuse the Yelich years with real top notch young talent rather than relying upon the wizardry of Stearns and MA to sign guys like Moose, Grandal, Chacin, etc. every single year. Tampa Bay, Houston, Minnesota and Atlanta have some nice prospects--like 17 out of the top 55 guys on MLB pipeline are from those 4 systems. Hader, Moose, Grandal and whoever should/could net us 3 Top 50 guys plus a few more low level guys. This roster and farm system isn't really built for sustained long term success right now. If getting to the WS this year seems like a major stretch in a month, then I hope Stearns has the gall to pull a little mini-rebuild. Even jettisoning all the expiring contracts this year for an uninspiring return might allow us to AGAIN make some big FA acquisitions in the offseason...Trading Moose and Grandal and re-signing them in January would be better than holding onto them all year and missing the playoffs. It's still 3.5 weeks early for this talk though.
  20. Despite all the consternation, whip up a nice little 5 game winning streak and things will mostly be back in order.
  21. Braun could be hitting like a guy 5 or 6 years his junior in the middle of their primes...like Shaw or Aguilar...
