  1. Things are looking good for summertime! This is EASILY the deepest Brewer team in my memory. They've been inconsistent, but there is always a talented player to step in when somebody else is scuffling. There are no scrubs from 1-35+ on the roster.
  2. The guy is the hottest hitter in the league with a a man on third and one out against an ultra-finesse pitcher. You'd think the thought might cross his mind that Davies would pitch around him--which Davies tried to do, but Bell wouldn't let him. Unbelievably bad AB.
  3. huh? I'm guessing he meant move him over to 3rd base...but Braun was 2 for 2 and seemed to be seeing the ball well so I wouldn't want him TRYING to hit the ball the other way when he could yank one out of the park or just drive him in with a single. I like small ball, but that's dumb small ball this early in the game against a mediocre pitching staff/bullpen (one run isn't a big deal in that situation compared to a late game situation against great pitching)
  4. Not sure why Thames completely bailed on that throw from Davies. There woulda been a mild collision, but Thames isn't exactly a feather....
  5. Not sure why I'm engaging in this yap-fest, but a "borderline strike" where a portion of the ball catches the plate IS a strike. It's not like a pitcher gets lucky when he hits the black and the ump calls it a strike. That's exactly what he's trying/hoping to do. You run the risk of not getting the call, but the gift strike to Stallings that missed the plate was closer to being a strike than the 2 pitches that split the black and were called balls to Archer. That said, Chacin was bad today and the Ump was bad today.
  6. Anybody else like Michael Toglia? Is there another player with his profile who I might also like and might also be available?
  7. If it's a close game, I'm basically okay with anybody who gets sent home with 2 outs unless Yelich is on deck, Aguilar is the guy coming in from 3rd, or the scouting report on the defense is known to be stellar. It's a difficult defensive play to tag a guy out at home. If the throw happens to be perfect and it looks bad cuz then the guy is out by 20 feet, so be it. Most of the time the catcher has to move and catch an offline throw in the dirt/short hop, then maneuver himself and his glove back in front of the plate to tag the guy sliding/diving 3-6 feet outside or inside the plate directly opposite the direction the catcher moved to catch the ball.
  8. A 3TO team will get lots of opportunities and will fail at lots of opportunities.
  9. He's still alive. Fine. Harold Baines is rolling over in his grave at all these game winning RBI opportunities.
  10. What happened today? I have always relied upon BF.net for my transaction news. Don't make me sign up for Twitter.
  11. Yeah, I thought that was odd with Markakis being a non-power lefty. Seems like you give Albers those two anyway and bring in Claudio for McCann, although he can't get him out either.
  12. I'm just going to quote this for the overall insane oddity of its almost correctness, but not quite. Similar to our 9th inning rally--which in the end, means...nothing..... It is the right thing to do, apologize for not taking him out sooner. It’s what you would do if you were manager, it’s what I would do, and it’s what CC will do. nuthin to c here
  13. That's a beautiful line.

  15. The Doorman is in Atlanta!!! Back-to-back dingers here would be sublime. Baseball at it's best.
  16. dinger, BB, BB, bloop, dingers, couple more BBs, dinger--you never know!
  17. If only Burnes could have held the Braves down for a couple of high leverage innings. Then he'd be in line to get the victory right now....
