  1. The deal between the A's and Brewers for Casey would be interesting. What could we expect in return? I was under the impression that their starters were pretty good. I'm not sure if Oakland would give one up for Casey.
  2. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ Not sure if this has been touched on yet, but this article implies that we trade Fielder for pitching and pick up Lee to replace him and Correia as a back of the rotation starter. No idea how much either would cost in FA, but if the price is right I think this may solidify things. Obviously this whole thing depends on us getting back something decent for Fielder, which seems far from a sure thing at the moment. Either way, I wouldn't mind taking a flier on Correia and see what he can do.
  3. I'm fine with this pick although it was odd seeing that he was considered #4 of four choices. Hopefully he stresses defense and fundamentals a little more at least and just keeps the clubhouse loose and fun. I think that would do a lot in itself. All the players looked like they were doing quadratic equations in the dugout the second half of the year.
  4. Wow, that is Brinks truck of cash. If that report is accurate, I'd offer half that and if that isn't enough to get from a studio chair to the dugout I think we have our answer on how bad he wants to manage. If he turns it down we go with one of the other three with a clear conscience.
  5. "Another point to consider is that, given the stability in Anaheim, Roenicke would likely not be bringing any coaches from the Angels to join him... as Roenicke may not have replacements or preferred candidates in mind for the position." I noticed that comment too. I'd be ok with Roenicke or Melvin and I really have no idea about Cora except as a player. I was personally hoping for Listach just because he was willing to jump into brawl. I don't think it makes that big of a difference honestly. Roenicke seems a bit short with the reporter for a few lines, which hopefully doesn't have anything to do with how he handles the media.
