  1. I couldn't agree more, but the Cards are swiftly overtaking the Yankees. I would put the Cowboys in there too, but they have sucked lately and have fallen off my radar a bit.
  2. Anyone else get the feeling that Giants win Game 6 only to have their hearts torn out by the Cards in Game 7? I'd love to see them get "St. Louised" for once.
  3. I'm taking full responsibility for this loss. I just turned into Gameday with the Votto strikeout and said "Nice Ax, now don't give up a homerun." Drat!
  4. Maybe I should say that it would have been easy for the team to quit and take a "Wait til next year" mentality after Greinke was traded. I think a lot of players have stepped up since that time, and while I'm not saying RR is the reason for all of this, I am saying that whatever he does in the clubhouse made that possible. I guess the only metaphor I can come up with is the throwing seeds on soil or rocks. Although if I want to play devil's advocate with myself I guess I could say that if RR has something to do with the recent hot streak, he also had something to do with the Brewers suckification during the first half.
  5. I completely agree with Thurston. As far as wins are concerned, I doubt manager decision factor into much more than one or two wins a season....BUT I think if manager can keep teams loose and keep good team chemistry that goes a long way to staying competitive and I think this latest hot streak can be partly do to this effect by RR. Some of our past managers would not be able to claim the same thing. Probably none since Garner.
  6. Looks like Fort Wayne like to run once they get on the bases. Hopefully the pitching keeps up the amazing postseason so far. Go T-Rats!
  7. Damn, if I was Andrus I would be pissed.
  8. What about Lee, Webster and Gordon for Greinke and Ramierez?
  9. Also: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120724&content_id=35481088&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb Maybe we could get a bag of balls for K-Rod?
  10. Sounds like the White Sox are trying to move Gavin Floyd for prospects so they can afford Greinke or Hamels. While that is good to get another team involved, I hope DM is looking at more of a three team deal and not waiting for the White Sox to come up with something. I'm not sure what the Sox would get for Floyd and if it would be better than around a top 50 prospect.
  11. Good luck Mass! You deserve the extra green in your pocket. I'm not sure whether to tell you to pick the Brewers to win or lose though. I say pick against them, that way you win either way.
  12. With the Carlos Lee deal falling apart between the Dodgers and the Astros, you'd think Los Angeles would be interested in Hart since he's younger and puts up similar stats. What do you think we could pull from the Dodgers for him if we decide to finally sell? Could we get a decent bat or arm and maybe save some cash?
  13. After tonight we may have to throw Hiram into the mix too. Something has to stick right?
  14. Not to get all "negative Nancy" on everyone, but I think Greinke is the glue that makes this a contending team. Personally if we can't sign Greinke, I vote to retool while keeping a few of the recent extensions. I just don't want to extend Marcum, I really like him, but I'd rather pay double for Greinke personally.
  15. Berberet just shot up into the top 5 of my favorite farmhands after looking at his walk-up music. A tip o' the cap good sir.
  16. Yeah that was kinda my point. Not that we need to get rid of him, but that the Red Sox might give us something of value for down the road and might give us a little flexibility at the trade deadline if we need it. I was pretty much hinting that if we can get a SS or an impact bat somewhere else (both areas we are very thin in the minors) we should consider it.
  17. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120402&content_id=27847126&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb Andrew Bailey may need surgery on his thumb. Not sure what it would take or if we want to mess with our bullpen this early in the year, but might be worth it if we can get a SS prospect out of the deal.
  18. Is it evil of me to hope Escobar totally falls on his face and we can trade Arnett for him?
  19. All high school bats for MIL. Although, its way too early it will be fun to keep an eye on these three and see how they move up and down the board.
  20. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=16020 Wily Peralta #92 Seems a bit low, but I may just be a homer.
  21. Homer is supposedly up on the block if the Reds sign Oswalt. Is there any way the Brewers could get him being that he's in our division? I know he hasn't exactly panned out yet, but I thought he was improving. Not sure what we would have to give up or if DM is even interested. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/02/cardinals-not-likely-to-sign-roy-oswalt.html
  22. He should do that with the majority of his articles as well.Well played sir.
  23. Does this make it more likely that KRod turns down arbitration? If Nathan got that much, he should be able to get a nice payday on the open market.
