  1. Nice call baby!!!! ...and Gomez?! I'm so excited I used the wrong quote! Great start Brew Crew!
  2. While my opinion doesn't mean jack, I personally, prefer Nieves to Kottaras, although Kottaras played well during ST. Does this mean Nieves will stay when Lucroy comes back?
  3. Completely agree. If we can hang at the .500 mark with the injuries we have for the first month, I will be very happy. Winning this first series would be huge since the Reds will most likely be the team we have to jump to get into the playoffs. I think Wolf and Narvey are going to have a big April or at least step up if we want to be at or around .500 though. Obviously the bats won't stay as hot as they were for ST, but it would be nice to start the season with hot bats with so many injuries to start the year.
  4. Weeks Hart Braun Fielder McGehee Lucroy Gomez Betancourt Pitcher Hopefull Gomez's new approach gets him on base more. Put the free swinger and the pitcher behind him, but everyone's right, Gomez should not get as many PA as the big 5.
  5. I completely agree. Why put him in front of Braun, Fielder and Hart when you can put him in front of Lucroy and the pitcher where he will actaully have the green light to steal at any time with hitters in front of him who are less apt to drive him in from first base. Put him in the 7th or 8th spot so he can steal a base once in awhile and score on a single.
  6. Man, you guys are in mid-season form. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Sounds like Ferris might be able to play some SS. Man, that would make me very happy.
  8. He had a walk yesterday. He needs to have the right approach every time, which in general means that if the first pitch is something he can drive, go for it. If not, wait to see if he gets one. Also do you know they were first pitch hits from listening, or are you going by gameday which is not all that accurate in spring games? I was listening. I'm not 100% sure they were first pitches either and I completely agree that if you get a pitch to hit first pitch, see what you can do with it. I was just hoping to see/hear him take a few pitches.
  9. I know our shiny new SS has two hits today, but I believe they were both on first pitches. This makes me think all the talk about him being more patient this year is probably bunk. I'd almost rather have him strike out while going deep in the count since its only ST. I guess we'll see how things progress.
  10. I'm already sick of the Miller commercials. sigh.
  11. Woot! Looks like they got something done according to Tom H. Looks like at least 4 yrs and over $30 mil. Way to go Ash and Rickie. Let's play some baseball baby!
  12. I'm sure he probably rather hang with the Padres, but I would love to see him as a bullpen coach for the Brewers next year.
  13. With our infield defense, I'm not sure we want too many GB. Not sure if I should put this in blue or not.
  14. This pretty much sums up how I feel right now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/view/Ty7XoIAwxLbbrfdv
  15. Not that I think we should be worried about not hearing anything on the "Greinke extention" side of things, I think our best best for a Greinke extention is signing both Weeks and Marcum to one. First of all, it will probably be easier to get extentions done on those two and second, it shows Zack that we are not just going for it for one or two years and may entice him to stay in Milwaukee. I'm not expecting a discount, but he may at least take the going rate to stay. That would lock up three stud arms for the next four years or so and put this team on the map while some prospects develop. I have to say while the CC trade was one of the best moments I can remember as a Brewer fan, the fact that we have Greinke and Marcum for two years has really got me floating on clound nine this morning. Mark A and DM were probably doing a jig last night along with the rest of us.
  16. Consider me enlightened. That makes perfect sense. For some reason I thought Gamel was still eligible.
  17. He does sound quite similar to Loe. Anytime I hear the adjective "herky-jerky" describing someone's delivery, the letters DL come to mind.

  19. Hey guys, real quick question. Why is Mat the Batt not on this list? I understand him not being top 5, but he has to be ahead of Gindl. Maybe I'm missing some rule that states he can't be a prospect. Please enlighten me.
  20. Its probably some embedded secret message for the CIA, terrorists or other anti-government types. Why else would the Cowboys get brought up? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  21. Wow. I may have to check out that site a bit more often. The pic where they are all wearing unitards needs to be sent to the Toronto Star. I am a much bigger fan of this trade right now. DM rocks.
  22. I'm really torn on this. Floyd and a minor leaguer (don't think Beckham will happen) is a good return for one year of Fielder and would save us money to be used elsewhere. The real wildcard is those two picks we would get if we kept Prince. Everyone knows how that went with C.C. If we can work out something to get Beckham I would elated even if we gave up Rivas, who I'm pretty high on. Floyd in the NL would probably help some stats and then Beckham, Weeks or Lawrie could be dealt for more pitching. I really like the idea of Beckham at third, re-sign Weeks at second and Lawrie at first over the coming few years.
  23. I'm not sure what Rickie will be making this year, but don't you think something like this would get it done? 4 yr/ 44 million 2011 $ 8 million 2012 $10 million 2013 $12 million 2014 $14 million If he was worth about $12 million (according to the economist), this would give him a raise this year and he would still be a bargain for the Brewers until 2014. Who knows, if he stays healthy that would even be a bargain by then.
