  1. I thought his stuff looked good, particularly fastball changeup. I know his fastball was grading out pretty high, especially early in the game. His location looks like a work in progress, too many wasted pitches. And unfortunately our biggest fear, velocity after 75 pitches, but I'm not sure about that because those home runs came on 92/93. I'm excited about him, but I think he still has to prove he can go 6 innings and locate his breaking stuff.
  2. The velocity, he fell down to high 80s in the 6th but the HRs were on 92/93, and he threw some really good breaking pitches. Not sure what to make of it.
  3. Looks like the wind is going to turn MP into a bandbox tonight
  4. Arent the Dodgers due for a big TV deal?
  5. Id say Coulter has about a 60 interview tool with future potential for 70+
  6. Bruce Seid still looks like that guy from Breaking Bad
  7. What I don't get though is how can you call his fastball a plus plus pitch and also call it straight? If it does turn out to be a legit plus plus pitch, I've seen a lot of closers do really well with 1 great pitch and just a "show me" off speed offering.
  8. Tyrone Taylor, CF out of a high school in California. Sounds like he has some good tools.
  9. Appel: “I’m currently concentrating on winning a national championship and finishing my academic endeavors at Stanford. I will address the possibility of a professional career in due time.” I wouldnt get too worried about his future with the Pirates
  10. lol I think that tells you all you need to know about Kottaras' arm - he tries to throw a guy out at second and Wolf thinks he's just throwing it back to the mound
  11. Fiers averaged 88 MPH on his FB and threw it 70% of the time. However it had elite vertical movement.
  12. The only trade piece I see is Greinke, and Gallardo and Hart would probably fetch something decent if we were to make them available. You just don't get much for a guy in a trade unless he is a) young and under team control, or b) really, really good I've heard a lot of people say we could trade KRod and if we ate some of his salary we could get a good prospect. It doesn't really make sense, we would just be buying a prospect. That happens sometimes, teams will buy a prospect for cash considerations. Teams only sell off their C level prospects though, I can't think of anyone on a top 100 list getting traded for cash considerations, ever. Greinke could get some value even though his contract expires next year, he would probably get traded with a contract extension. A team with payroll will give up prospects to do that, to get the jump on an elite player.
  13. It looks like he compensates by hiding the ball well and changing speeds regularly
  14. Fiers is making me nervous with some of these middle middle pitches
  15. It was Narveson or Capuano. At the time they looked pretty equal except Narv dog was younger and cheaper. It was a pretty easy call at the time I thought.
  16. [sarcasm]Yeah hes good for 162 games[/sarcasm] RR gets too much blame for this crappy team
  17. Its frustrating when you make all these considerations for Wolf and he gets shelled in the first inning.
  18. I get why Roenicke wouldnt want to wake up this morning and tell Wolf he's switching his catcher, but Ive been saying for the longest time that Wolf needs to learn to work with Lucroy.
