  1. I really wanted to see some more aggressive moves there in the 8th. Once Prince got hit in the ankle, use a PR. And/or when Yuni was up use a lefty (Counsell or Morgan) who are better hitters and have a better matchup against the RHP.
  2. That is my thought too. I think he just decided to bat him there until Hart gets back so he can look back on that sample size the rest of the year to gauge what to do with Gomez. Does Roenicke like reserving Morgan for the role of defensive replacement in the 6th inning? I'm wondering if he's going to regularly save him for that instead of starting him. It makes some sense because you can pinch hit with him and maneuver your outfield accordingly halfway through the game, even though I don't necessarily agree with it.
  3. good game to miss, looks like 4 boring innings on gamecast with no hits, unless the pitchers are really putting on a show
  4. Dave Bush is scheduled to start tomorrow (Wednesday) for the Texans
  5. SP Zach Greinke SP Yovanni Gallardo SP Shawn Marcum SP Randy Wolf SP Chris Narveson CL John Axford LR Manny Parra LHP Zack Braddock RHP Takashi Saito RHP LaTroy Hawkins RHP Kameron Loe RHP Sean Green Sorry Mitre, we don't need you with all the righties and Parra to eat innings Stetter, we could have used another lefty but you just aren't good enough all around I have more faith in Hawkins than most here I think. I expect him to come in with good velocity and tail to work a lot of scoreless 8ths.
  6. Thank god he broke the home run barrier before 15 games into the season this year
  7. I feel like that HR was so badly needed both for Brewers fans and Casey
  8. well Yovanni had a bad day at 5 IPs 4 Rs but that is totally acceptable for a bad day or a low end starter
  9. going to see about 5 innings of bullpen from both sides today
  10. If Rickie singles I want Gomez to try bunting for a hit 90% of the time
  11. That 1.20 ERA for Gallardo is sexy. Lets see how long he can keep it under 2.
  12. Is Manny Parra in line to be the #6 (or first reserve) starter once his conditioning is up enough?
  13. Anyone else remember Narveson tending to pitch a bad 1st inning and then cruising through 5 shut out innings? It was clear it was just a small mental hurdle he had to get over to become a reliable starter. I didn't know if he would get over it (Parra didn't with a similar situation) but that is why I've held high hopes for him. He seems to have adjusted. I was worried when the first inning yesterday started getting out of hand after the 3rd out reached base on a wild pitch. It is highly encouraging that even with bad luck he can compose himself.
  14. You have to admit though, Estrada is pretty solid for what he is - a 6th or worse starter signed to a minor league deal. If we can send him out there and still win the game, thats a pretty major boon to the pitching staff. Since it's only April I'd say it's worth trying it because realistically, we'll have to make the same decision again later in the season.
  15. I'm starting to really lose faith in Corey Hart. Thing is though I felt this exact same way at this time last year, and he went on to crush the seams off the ball into the HR derby (forgettable performance though). I look forward to hoping he surprises me but I still feel like whatever he gives us over a Gomez/Morgan outfield is a bonus and not expected.
  16. I feel pretty good about Nyjer right now. I still feel like he's a question mark after this year for the same concerns, but as long as we are winning and players aren't facing a lot of frustration he'll be a good team player. I feel like that will last at least for this year.
  17. Saito is unavailable with a hammy. Probably Loe even though he pitched yesterday.
