  1. Read on another forum that the Brewers plan is to not wear Blue jerseys at home. Although this may change if they sell really well or if the team determines "they are good luck"
  2. I'm literally stunned. I was resigned to the idea that we would trade him in a year or two.
  3. Urias will start hitting this week but Opening Day is still in question
  4. Judge & Stanton both expected to miss opening day as well
  5. I believe Williams & Feyereisen each have options remaining. My personal guess is Hader Claudio Suter Phelps Peralta Black Wahl* Williams* Wahl & Williams just being placeholders for our normal shuttle that will include Feyereisen, Perdomo, Yardley, & eventually Rasmussen & Knebal
  6. They put Thames in the corners on a semi regular basis. I have zero doubt they would be willing to put LoMo in a corner outfield spot for the occasional spot start
  7. I tried to do a count on it. It's literally impossible to fit him unless they go with 12 pitchers. Enjoy your showcase and go door2door peddling your goods lomo. He would simply take Gamel's spot, both Gamel & Healy would go to AAA
  8. My guess is the Brewers told him that he will get a real chance to make the club. In fact I'd bet on him making it right now just because guys like Healy, Gamel, etc can be optioned to AAA. That said if he doesn't earn a shot and doesn't wanna go to AAA I won't blame him
  9. Well we shouldn't waive Anderson, but a 1/5 deal should not lock a guy into a rotation spot if he's not one of the best 5. If the competition between Anderson and say Lauer is close...even if Lauer is slightly better I would go with Anderson to maintain the flexibility. If Lauer is lightyears ahead of Anderson, well Mr. Anderson can pitch out of the bullpen as 6th starter/swingman. Not the best use of 5 million, but to give a guy a rotation spot when he's not the best option to avoid "wasting" 5 million is bad management. That 5 million is a sunk cost at this point and shouldn't factor into decision making. I also don't know that basing rotation spots on Spring Training performance is the best decision making either. We are shown every season how unreliable Spring Training results are in showcasing what will happen during the season.
  10. I didn't give him much of a chance when he was signed, but given Morrison's comments yesterday and his hot start, I think there's a decent chance he makes it. The Brewers love lefty power bats, and aren't projected to have a ton of lefty power available on the bench. I still expect Smoak to make most of the starts at 1B, but we could theoretically see Morrison in there against tough righties, along with seeing time in the corner OF. Yea I don't see him getting a ton of starts(atleast early on) but I just can't see Stearns letting that depth walk. Maybe gets a start a week in a corner OF or 1b spot and then is one of the main pinch hitters off the bench
  11. Yea I see zero reason why we would want to get rid of our starting pitching depth. We all know the original starting five won't make it through the entire season so keep as many quality pitchers as we can. On that same note, does anyone else expect LoMo to make the squad? He can't go down to AAA and it is Stearns M.O. to keep as much depth as possible. It seems to me that keeping LoMo while sending down Healy & Gamel to preserve depth would be right up Stearns alley
  12. I’m pretty sure there was a picture during the reveal or shortly after of one that said “Brewers”. I think it will be like the old navy and have a version for home/away. No announcement, but that is pretty much the only explanation. I know Bernie is wearing the jersey you are describing but I haven't seen any actual uniform come out like that.
  13. One thing that's unclear to me still. Will we wear the blues at home? I know they were announced as "Road Alternates"
  14. some have guessed that the barrel man would show up next season replacing the 50th anniversary patches I would really doubt that happens. Most (if not all) only have one sleeve patch...minus anniversary patches etc. It seems too weird to remake the logo and then do nothing else. I wouldn't be shocked if there is a barrel man alternate eventually. That may be the actual plan. Seeing as the Brewers love endlessly toying with new alternates in years past it would make sense to wait a year or two (since there are already so many new uniforms) to reveal it. Yep my guess is in a year or two we'll see a third alternate uniform(maybe a blue home uniform or a yellow or baby blue alternate) that features whatever ends up being the most popular secondary logo
  15. Yes they look great! I hope they televise a road game or two so we can see what the Blue ones look like
  16. Does Peralta's extension give him a better shot at the rotation?
  17. Yep I kind of look at it as Woodruff, Anderson, Houser, Lindblom, Lauer, Peralta, & probably Burnes will each start quite a few games this season
  18. I just can't imagine they don't have Braun starting on opening day
  19. Yep, Gamel is a great role player for our team. Obviously if a team blows me away with an offer I'm not going to say no, but I wouldn't be actively shopping him
  20. I am in agreement on leadoff. I'd probably go something like this now that we have Holt Vs RHP 3b Holt LF Yelich 2b Hiura C Narvaez RF Garcia 1B Smoak CF Cain P SS Sogard(until Urias is back) Vs LHP CF Cain LF Yelich 2B Hiura RF Garcia 1B Braun 3B Gyorko C Pina P SS Urias Once Urias is back I really like him in the 9 hole setting up Yelich & Hiura
  21. ... or anything showing a jersey number? I'm not finding anything. The roster on the Brewers' website isn't updated yet. He's number 32
  22. Black is out of options correct? With Stearns past I'd be shocked if they didn't keep him
  23. 1 year deal with a (shocker) Club Option
  24. 1 year deal with a (shocker) Club Option
  25. At this Point I'm thinking it's likely we start the seasons with platoons at C(Narvaez/Pina), 1B(Smoak/Braun) SS(Sogard/Arcia) & 3B(Holt/Gyorko) That should provide for a pretty nice bench unit with plenty of guys getting regular ABs to stay fresh. Gamel is the only one where I'm not sure where his PT will really come from besides maybe occasionally starting for Cain in CF
