  1. Because their offensive numbers is how we judge their defense. what do you think we are? Gold glove voters
  2. No one has perfect decision making and every person makes different decisions than others. Generally when you make a move against the book you are ridiculed if it doesn't workout. But if all he does is goes with the book he gets ridiculed for that to. Managers imo are grossly over-analyzed. It goes with the whole, your hired to be fired concept of coaching.
  3. I just think generally people are overreacting to this. I think RRR just did it because he thought the move was the best move to make strategically towards winning the game, and frankly that is a reasonable argument to make
  4. He has looked a little awkward but has still done an above average job there so far imo
  5. I don't think it was showing a dis-confidence in Gamel as much as it was just a strategic move that made sense that the time to RRR. He was pinch hitting for the pitcher while allowing the Estrada to pitch multiple innings and bringing in a better defender at first. Again I'm not saying I would have done it that way but I think a lot of people are overreacting to the move. Would people have been worked up so much if he did the double switch with Gonzalez? Should RRR just never do a double switch this season
  6. He could have brought Loe in earlier and brought Estrada in after the lineup changed over. We will see in the future if this was just a double switch or the beginning of the manager having an overfondness for Ishikawa. Loe can pitch before the 7th inning. yes he could have. but honestly its one of those decisions where there are so many options you can use that somebody is bound to be dissapointed by it. But in the grand scheme of things I dont really think it mattered all that much even if they would have kept the game close. Gamel was o-fer on the day and Aoki scored a run in his place so one could argue that it did work out
  7. I honestly thing people are overreacting to the double switch. It was just a normal double switch, allowing Estrada to go multiple innings. I really don't have an issue with it. Honestly I think it made no difference at all in the game. Would it have been better if he would have just pinch hit Ishikawa and removed Estrada from the game forcing us to use another pitcher?
  8. Oh well. Lets go take 3 of 4 from the cubbies and end their season
  9. Man this team already seems to be way better on D then our team was last year. You can really see an improvement with Gonzalez from Yuni, as was expected. Weeks looks to be struggling on D but hopefully he can turn it around. Even Gamel looks good out there. Hopefully our bats come around in the next few games
  10. I didn't say it was a good move. I was just explaining the reasoning of the move. It isn't a totally illogical move to make. Allows you to not have to burn through your bullpen for the time being
  11. Ishikawa gets to bat in the 9 spot and is a defensive upgrade to Gamel while also allowing Estrada to go more than 1 inning.
  12. I am interested to see how the Orange unis look in person
  13. that is true. Im hoping now that when a lefty is starting RRR will start Lucroy. Hopefully spring training helped whatever gap there was between Wolf and Lucroy
  14. Dont really mind Kottaras starting today. Lucroy didnt look took good at the plate yesterday so Im hoping Wolf pitches well and we can take the series
  15. Like the lineup today. I think Gamel will probably bat 7th against lefties at least to start the year. Lets go Greinke! Show us why you deserve that extension
  16. even when gamel and lucroy fail to get a hit or walk they both get on....

  18. dont mind the ishikawa move here. Hart still comin back from that injury. no need to push him to his limits in an 8 2 game

  20. Honestly this whole page is in better spirits than I thought we would be. Maybe its just the fact baseball is back. Idk. But I still have a positive outlook on this team
