  1. Is it me or is he the most important player to the team this year. IMO he is the only one with a legit shot at stepping in and being a legit #2 starter behind Yo. & if he does we could easily have a playoff time but if he doesn't it could be a rough year
  2. I know for sure the March 29th game at Miller Park they're wearing them. That game is televised. Thats right, I do remember reading that. Thanks, I'll have to make sure I catch that one
  3. Do what know exacttly which spring training game they are wearing these? would be cool if it was one of the games they televised
  4. I would assume either Green plays the corners now like Gamel was slotted to or Khris Davis has an increased chance at a roster spot, this of course is assuming the don't pick up someone like a Carlos Lee or Mike Carp
  5. Aoki Weeks Braun Ramirez Lucroy Gomez Morris Segura until Hart gets back at least
  6. Honestly, If and its a big if, but if Hunter Morris plays just as well or better than Green and or Gonzo in Spring training, I think you let him get the first crack at it. if not you go with a Green Gonzo platoon or something of the sort
  7. I don't see this happening at all. If anybody is going to the pen it's Rogers. Totally agree, I see Peralta as a near lock unless he is considerably worse than the other 5 in spring training. I think the final 2 spots come down to Rogers, Narveson, & Fiers and frankly I'd put whoever does the worst of those 3 in the pen
  8. Prolly put Rogers in the pen to be honest or Fiers maybe cause I dont see either ever becoming more than a 4 anyway and especially Rogers I think he could end up being really strong in the pen
  9. I know we dont actually get to watch anything but all the articles & videos that come out just puts you back into baseball mindset, plus I have been playing the show from last year as my own spring training for the upcoming game
  10. Seems like an idea that can't hurt to me. If hes not living up to standards can easily cut bait after spring training or when Hart returns
  11. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/02/reds-sign-parra-designate-redmond.html could be a good move for them or they could have the same frustration weve had with him for awhile haha
  12. Why not go ahead and give this a shot Rotation: Gallardo Estrada Fiers Narveson Peralta Bullpen: Axford(closer) Henderson(set-up) Gonzalez(set-up) Gorzelanny(middle relief) Rogers(long/middle relief) Badenhop(long/middle relief) Kintzler(mop up/middle relief) Lineup: Aoki Weeks Braun Ramirez Lucroy Gamel Gomez Segura Bench: Gonzalez Maldonado Schafer Bianchi Green(sent down once Hart returns)
  13. Love the move, Should be a solid bench now and I thought I remember reading he was playing 3b in some games over the winter? maybe not?
  14. I can't find the article I read but basically Upton was pissed about his name being floated out there as a trade candidate. Then he asked the DBacks to remove the Uptown sign in RF and he refused to do any community service for them because he said he wouldn't make sense to help out a community if he was going to be traded. The DBacks basically said that they are always willing to listen on trade offers and its just part of the business. I don't know if the initial trade talks were because of Upton's demeanor or because they thought he was no longer worth the money or what. Regardless, I don't think they received any offers they liked but then Upton basically said if you're going to make me available, you might as well just trade me now. So they were probably just doing their due diligence like any team does and seeing what could potentially be available in trade and Upton didn't like that so he basically demanded a trade without necessarily saying so by telling them to take down the sign and by refusing to do community service. It just sounds like his feelings were hurt and he was a poor sport about it. If that is what happened they still should have tried to hide it a little better. I mean they have made it known for awhile that he was going to be traded. Between basically going in saying were moving this guy no matter what with him and Bauer I feel they have mis handled 2 of their biggest assests this offseason
  15. Imo brighter colors are definately more in then they were in the early 2000's late 90's from what I remember. I work at Dick's and I definately see more bright colors as options for clothing then I did a few years ago
  16. hard to be pissed at the player for following his own contract. I mean there was only 4 teams he couldn't go to. The fact that there was that much of a drop off from the Mariners to the braves shows either the Mariners were extremely desperate or Upton didn't have as much value as I thought. or Both. I am completely underwhelmed from the package for him. I do think its cool he gets to go play with his brother now Well I hate no-trade clauses to begin with. Also, it just seemed weird the teams that he listed. Mariners, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Cubs. Sure the Mariners and Cubs are bad but the Blue Jays are gonna be pretty darn good and the Red Sox are the Red Sox. Not to mention Upton basically requested/forced a trade so teams knew they didn't have to offer as much. Sure the DBacks could have not traded him but that probably would have caused problems in the clubhouse. If a team doesn't like a no trade clause they don't have to put one in, The marlins for example refuse to give out no trade clauses. As far as the teams go does Upton pick his teams in the offseason or did he pick them at the start of the contract? Im actually not sure on that. And I dont understand on what you mean forced a trade, I didn't hear of anything of him not wanting to go to specific teams besides the ones on his no trade list. And it's not like hes a free agent soon so he couldn't hold an extension over their heads
  17. love the gold! I bought a spanish Braun Jersey cause it was my favorite jersey weve ever worn lol

  19. I almost agree completely with this post! signing another reliever would be perfect, I would really like Rauch, Valverde, or Farnsworth. I would definately also like Carlos Lee and/or Gonzalez back on the bench
  20. Horrible news. Hopefully his family is ok through all of this
  21. I agree but the chances of all of those pitchers coming thru for us this year doesnt seem worth it to me. I would rather deal Hart and/or Ramirez get some young guys that will come up with our pitchers and Coulter/Roache and we can have a young cost-controlled team for awhile
  22. i do like the signing. Just wish we would see more of a direction this offseason. either go for it or rebuild. I don't wanna be stuck in the middle. but as far as this signing goes I like it. good felxible reliever for 2 years at a reasonable price.
  23. Solid rotation for the nats but there are some risks involved there.granted I definately would have taken on haren on that deal for us
  24. I do like the move by Doug. got a guy that could potentially produce in a 6/7 inning role for us. he had a 3 era in the AL east which isnt easy by any stretch and he doesn't walk guys which is great. hoping to still pick up 2 or 3 more guys, 1 bigger name to set up and atleast 1 lefty and then one more guy like badenhop.
  25. Im definately down for this trade. Francouer fills a spot on our bench and we get a great reliever. Have to wonder if Kansas would give up Herrera though
