  1. I would be all for getting Dickey. I think he gives us a very capable #2 or #3 starter for a very solid price
  2. I love this signing. Not exactly anything great from him but hopefully he can lock up a spot in the pen. Love this for the fact these are types of signing's that I wish Melvin would do more of. Get 10 or 12 of these guys and just go into spring and the best 7 make it. Seems pretty simple
  3. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/outrighted-to-triple-a-erik-cordier.html Pretty sure we all saw this coming....
  4. Gotta admit Hamilton is very intriguing. Adding Hamilton to the best NL lineup would just make things downright scary. We wouldn't need great pitching. just average pitching which i think we can find with our young guys. At the deadline we could always make a move if we needed to. and I think adding Hamilton would give us tremendous depth every where across the board which would be huge for inevitable injuries. All that said, I won't be too dissapointed when we don't sign hamilton. I will be though if we sign Lohse to a huge contract
  5. how does pablo win the mvl?!?!?!?!?!
  6. Damn. I dont know what it is about San Fran. I still don't think they are that great. but congrats to them. They won it all and that staff was amazing!
  7. for the type of contracts those 2 are likely to get I think both are easily worth the risk. I'm not saying they need to just sign those 2 and would be in favor of signing other guys but IMO most bullpen arms are inconsistent year to year.

  9. I would love Evan Meek. another guy who to me is a low risk high reward guy. If i was Melvin I'd be signing as many of those guys as possible and let them battle it out in ST with the best 7 making the team. or 5 as Rogers and Ax most likely have spots in the pen locked up
  10. I would be willing to go 4/80 or 5/90 for him. Our pitching the next few years should be somewhat cheap and Hart is expiring and most likely not coming back next season. This year we could roll out a lineup of Gomez/Aoki Weeks Braun Ramirez Hamilton Hart LuCroy Segura and then replace Hart next year with a cheaper option in Gamel or someone else and still have a hell of a lineup. With Aoki and Gomez as depth to Im not as concerned with the injury potential. and frankly no pitchers out there really excite me so why not try to improve our offense even more and then maybe make a deal for a pitcher at the deadline if we need pitching
  11. I would, they both seem like low risk high reward type pitchers which is exactly the kind I want melvin going after
  12. Lets go Brewers. Time for a sweep! Wish it was Schafer or Gindl in the lineup instead of Morgan but just nitpicking at this point
  13. Still intrigued to watch Segura and Fiers tonight. Hoping to pull out another w
  14. didnt exactly look amazing there but first at bat so not going to overreact lol.
  15. SS-Segura RF-Aoki LF-Braun 3B-Ramirez 1B-Hart 2B-Weeks C-LuCroy CF-Schafer/Gomez
  16. That was a good one But on a serious note very excited to see this kid! He should play atleast 5 days a week.
  17. So in tonights game RRR and Narron both got ejected in the 9th inning? in that scenario who then takes over as manager? I have always wondered this. My guess would be Ed Sedar but I honestly have no clue
  18. Not a bad haul for the cubs.
  19. I think right now Id have to go 1. Segura 2. Peralta 3. Jungmann 4. Coulter 5. Hellweg 6. Nelson 7. Pena 8. Thornburg 9. Gennett 10. Roache granted I don't follow the minors like you guys do so my list is probably way off. I agree though I would love to see another power 50
  20. I personally really like the trade. Was really getting excited to land Olt but that doesnt seem like it was realistic now so Segura was my 2nd choice. The two pitchers we got back do seem like legit prospects and our pitching in the minors is absolutely stacked with potential 2-4 starters.
  21. Im all for trading him for young cheap players. The Cubs system is starting to scare me and we really need to get ours back up.
  22. nevermind i found it. for some reason i thought the game started at 740 lol. And i agree wish Ransom and Aoki were in the lineup
