  1. So according to Jim Bowden the Braves have decided against Pastornicky as their longtime shortstop? Any chance the Brewers could make a move for him and what do you think he would cost? Maybe a Thronburg & Schafer.
  2. What teams truly have starting caliber players though ready to jump in and start on a whim when a player goes down. Not many examples out there. Gomez Aoki & Green are as close as your going to get IMO.
  3. That would be welcome news if true. I would love to get a Greinke deal done and out of the way. We would then have Greinke Gallardo Narveson Peralta Axford Gamel Weeks Ramirez Braun, Morgan, Gomez, all locked up for the forseeable future. With the likes of Jungmann, Bradley, Thornburg, Schafer coming up in the next few years.
  4. This doesn't solve the problem, it just showcases why it is a problem. It also showcases how a serious injury could cripple us this year. We've put together a team which is significantly over budget, and we are still pretty shallow when it comes to depth. We have 3 CF, one good SP at AAA and Green to backup 2b/3b. Other than that, we're very open to injuries, and unlike previous years, we probably won't have the resources to pick up a player to fill in when someone goes down. IMO we have above average depth. we have 2 guys in Gomez and Aoki that I would be fine having to step into a starting role due to injury. You have Green who is the back up at 1st/2nd/ and 3rd. And IMO he could be starting on quite a few teams. SS & C I agree we are thin but thats it in the lineup which is better than most teams. As far as Pitching I consider us to have 8 legit SP's. Peralta, Estrada, & Fiers I would trust to start if an injury occurred
  5. I don't think hell ever be quite as fast but he should definitely still be plenty fast. He would be a prototypical leadoff hitter if you took away his power imo
  6. He is more of a boomer but he is also one of our highest on base % guys with speed who sets the table for Braun, Ramirez, & Hart.
  7. it sucks you need a paypal account to buy that h8trs guna h8te shirt. That would be awesome to wear ....Nevermind ha. figured it out
  8. Don't forget Hart in the background... he was an MVP at AA. haha oh my bad. how could I ever forget. Man what a sight
  9. hah whose the random 4th guy? 3 mvps and him lol
  10. any chance there are pics out there of the scene behind the backstop?
  11. I am totally fine with both of these moves. Melvin has got to be nearing the end of his tenure though. probably another 5 or so years maybe. Roenicke had a fine year last year imo and I actually don't mind his style of play usually. His contract will probably match Melvin's in length cause if Roenicke doesn't work out then I doubt Melvin gets a 4th try.
  12. X2 for both of these statements. Just let the guy live his life. He screwed up, big deal. How many of us have messed up at one point at our jobs. By making this about him, posting his picture in this thread and saying he is on facebook is getting dangerously close to Cub level crazy(eventually someone will think it's a good idea to find out where he lives, ect.), like what happened with bartman. Let's just let this go and move on. We as Brewer fans are above this kind of nonsense. Let's either let this thread die, or just close it off entirely. Im all for this. None of us are perfect and he isn't either. We don't know specifically what happened and probably never will. None of this should have ever come out and Braun and Dino should be living their normal lives right now.
  13. I personally know the guy. He coached my basketball team in 8th grade at a rec league and was the athletic trainer at my high school when I went there and played Basketball. The guy never seemed shady to me in the least bit but then again I could have easily been fooled and his son always seemed like a good kid to. But i never really knew him that well. It just would shock me if he really did tamper with it because he doesn't seem like the type to. And ftr the guy is definately a cubs fan.
  14. Question about Aoki's deal? Idk if this has already been answered but what happens after the 3 years is up? Is he a Free agent or do we retain his arbitration years as well?
  15. what do they mean by mlb is "considering its options"? is there anyway anything could still happen?
  16. Great to know Braun will be in that 3 hole on opening day isnt it? ha
  17. Ryan is and always will be my favorite brewer and co favorite player of all time. right up there with Aaron Rodgers. Seeing the way Rodgers has come to Braun's defense is just such a great feeling, knowing that my 2 favorite players are great friends. I am glad Braun can finally be considered clean. Ill admit being a grown man i almost broke down in tears that night I heard of the suspension. This is just such a great feeling right now
  18. omg i cannot believe this. all winter waiting to hear has been killing me. i am so amped right now. play ball!!!!!
  19. So apparently Weeks does not want to be 5. So My new guess is 2B Weeks CF Morgan LF Braun 3B Ramirez RF Hart 1B Gamel SS Gonzalez C Lucroy http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2012/02/23/weeks-on-his-spot-in-lineup-anything-but-five/
  20. this is awesome! I go to UW-Green Bay so last year not being able to watch those games on WMLW was horrible.
  21. When looking at those benches. Chicago has Dejesus. He will be starting in right for them. One of Ludwick or Heisey will be starting in left for Cincinnati. Pittsburgh and Chicago I think are right there with us for best bench in the league. But I think we are definately ahead of Houston and St.Louis and probably Cincinnati as well
  22. The thing with that is I don't see much of a downgrade in the bat department going from Gonzalez to Izturis. Gonzalez has a crappy bat with ok power. Izturis has a crappy bat with no power.
  23. Most likely just 2 for Greinke. With the new cba I doubt we offer K-rod or Marcum enough to warrant draft picks
  24. So Aoki finally is getting introduced tomorrow? Heard they are expecting a ton of Japanese media. What are you guys expecting from tomorrows presser? anything significant? and does anyone know why he still isnt on the brewers.com depth chart?
