  1. I think that schedule argument is a little misleading (small sample size alert). I don't think anyone expects Boston or Toronto to stay under .500, and in terms of the upcoming schedule the Cardinals (x2) and Twins are likely to regress and be under .500.
  2. In terms of scheduling MLB is very conscious of the the majority one time a year interleague series being early in the season in case of games needing to be rescheduled. It gives the league a lot more flexibility to make schedules work over a multiple month timeframe
  3. Would love for the Badgers to get Jackson Shelstad, but that is probably very unlikely as he is already being linked to Gonzaga
  4. Record: 90-72, make playoffs as WC MVP: Turang Cy; Uribe ROY: Gasser Surprise Player: Ortiz improves to slightly above league average Disappointing: Mitchell still can't stay healthy Due to Uribe's success, Trevor Megill is traded at the trade deadline
  5. I think they get off to a solid start...17-13
  6. Everyone knows the Pro Bowl is a complete joke, but the last two days take it to a new level.. Sanders being named to the AFC roster as a QB replacement for Maye, and Keisean Nixon being named as an NFC replacement a CB is completely laughable IMO
  7. It's always interesting to see different opinions on ranking the division coaches; I would have KOC #1, followed by MLF, Johnson, and Campbell clearly last. The love affair with Dan Campbell amazes me. The guy cost his team a SB by being recklessly aggressive in the NFCG in San Fran, lost his coordinators this year and looks lost on the sidelines. I just don't get the love affair with that guy. MLF and Johnson at this point to me are similar the difference is Johnson has only done it for one year and everyone would agree the Bears were exceptionally fortunate in close games this season which will not likely reoccur next year
  8. I agree with several others that the Boston proposal is the strongest by a fairly significant margin
  9. Most of this thread is difficult to get my head around. I understand the frustration with MLF, but anyone who thinks he wouldn't be at the top of the list of coaching candidates if GB fired him is not living in reality. The guys won basically 2/3 of his games as a NFL coach and not all of that was solely due to our previous HOF QB. He is extremely highly regarding in the league as an excellent QB developer and offensive mind. Despite MLF's reputation, I would be fine with a change, even though I think it's unlikely to occur. All the buzz is around Harbaugh but the guy I would prefer is Stefanski. I have a strong preference for offensive minded coaches given todays NFL landscape.
  10. Reported that Fickell will return in 2026 with a "greater commitment and institutional support" per Pete Thamel (ESPN)..IMO he wouldn't survive a 2-10 season but it looks like that's not the case
  11. I don't think this is going to be all that competitive of a WS. LA might not sweep, but I think it's five games max. I truly believe both the Phillies and Brewers were better than anyone in the AL this year, and the Dodgers had minimal issues taking care of them.
  12. This is an awful take IMO. Mitchell has been chronically injured for multiple seasons, including his time in the minors. Jackson has next to no injury history, prior to this hamstring, and probably came back too soon just because of the playoffs. At this point there is no reason to think he is an injury prone player.
  13. The fascination that some on this board have with Monasterio is mind boggling to me. Ortiz is by no means an offensive threat, but Monasterio is basically at the same offensive level when you look at their career numbers: Ortiz 943 AB/.233 BA/.651 OPS Monasterio 533 AB/.250 BA/.672 OPS Additionally, Ortiz is a vastly superior defender at SS. IMO, there is next to zero chance that Ortiz won't start every playoff game this season. If you had a clearly better option, fine, but I don't think Monasterio is that compared to Ortiz
  14. As much as I dislike the Cubs, they are clearly the better matchup IMO. Their pitching, especially without Horton, is significantly weaker than the Pads, and that SD bullpen is really nasty. I understand the angst of potentially tainting the season by losing to the Cubs, but if you were choosing which roster was stronger, without looking at the team names, I'm pretty sure most would say the Cubs are the better matchup
  15. Your list sems much more plausible to me than the original. I would include Gasser over Anderson/Fedde as well
  16. I can't see leaving Miz off the roster and including Anderson and/or Fedde. I just don't see that happening at all
  17. The problem is you keep advocating for Mona, who is below well below average offensively as well. Just because he had a little hot streak doesn't make him a significantly better hitter than Ortiz. You also consistently undervalue the difference between the two on defense
  18. No CeeDee Lamb should certainly help, but GB should win this game on offense since the Cowboys defense is awful...
  19. 15-9..gets them to 100 wins for the regular season
  20. Lots of lineup complaining will commence shortly with Siegler at 3B and Durbin back on the bench..
  21. Currently 5-0..next game 8/27 vs ARZ
  22. What's on?? Even if the Cubs win tonight the brewers still have a 7 game lead There should literally be zero panic at this point
  23. I just saw the lineup for tonight...the complaining will commence very soon I'm sure Lockridge Contreras, Wm Yelich Vaughn Durbin Jansen, D Perkins, B Monasterio Ortiz, J
