  1. I just believe their roster is more talented than the last several years. Injuries are a huge factor for every team, every year. Unfortunately, the Packers have had multiple injuries to the top end of their roster (Parsons, Tom, Watson, Wyatt, Kraft,..) and I don't believe they will be as injury riddled to key guys this season. Also, not having Jacobs, for who knows how long (maybe forever), will force MLF to be more aggressive I hope. My biggest complaint with him the last two years is he is way too conservative as a play caller and hasn't given Love enough freedom.
  2. I don't get the negative vibes on the Packers that many here seem to have. I see 10-7 minimum, probably 11-6. The stretch of games without Parsons is manageable, and, unlike most on here, think MLF is an above average coach.
  3. I'll go with 14-10 in September, finishing with 98 wins for the season. I agree with other posters they won't get to 100 because playoff positioning will be in place for the last 3-6 games and they will rest guys for the playoffs
  4. Josh Jacobs formally charged with two misdemeanors today. I'm guessing he will be getting a one game suspension from the NFL under the personal conduct policy. If he is suspended I hope it's right away as his first court appearance isn't until November.
  5. That's a fairly difficult play Lara made look easy because of an outstanding jump
  6. May learned to have them hit it to Ortiz or Turang....
  7. I'm guessing you will see Wild Bill in the 4 spot instead of Vaughn. With Vaughn 6 and Yelich 7th if I were quessing
  8. I'll go 17-12 for August
  9. Trading with the Mets makes a lot of sense as Stearns knows our system/prospects very well and I'm sure he has certain ones he prefers
  10. Good news from Wrigley...Yankees beat the Cubs 2-0 so an opportunity to add a game to the division lead tonight
  11. Potential trades... Brewers trade Pena/Drohan/Payne would you rather get Skubal as a rental or Miller for three plus years?? I'm not crazy about giving up Pena for a rental, but Skubal isn't an ordinary rental IMO. Miller is clearly the best relief pitcher in the game right now and you could always flip him to recoup prospect capital in 2-3 years.
  12. Pratt in the lineup, as expected, at SS, batting 8th
  13. I'll go with a good solid month..16-11
  14. This thread feels like a massive overreaction to me. They gave up two pieces of minimal value IMO, Collins, likely coming off a career year, and Mears, who is "just a guy" they cycle in and out annually, for a guy who could be a well above average bullpen arm. I know early returns aren't great, but I think it's very unlikely he's going any where soon.
  15. I think that schedule argument is a little misleading (small sample size alert). I don't think anyone expects Boston or Toronto to stay under .500, and in terms of the upcoming schedule the Cardinals (x2) and Twins are likely to regress and be under .500.
  16. In terms of scheduling MLB is very conscious of the the majority one time a year interleague series being early in the season in case of games needing to be rescheduled. It gives the league a lot more flexibility to make schedules work over a multiple month timeframe
  17. Would love for the Badgers to get Jackson Shelstad, but that is probably very unlikely as he is already being linked to Gonzaga
  18. Record: 90-72, make playoffs as WC MVP: Turang Cy; Uribe ROY: Gasser Surprise Player: Ortiz improves to slightly above league average Disappointing: Mitchell still can't stay healthy Due to Uribe's success, Trevor Megill is traded at the trade deadline
  19. I think they get off to a solid start...17-13
  20. Everyone knows the Pro Bowl is a complete joke, but the last two days take it to a new level.. Sanders being named to the AFC roster as a QB replacement for Maye, and Keisean Nixon being named as an NFC replacement a CB is completely laughable IMO
  21. It's always interesting to see different opinions on ranking the division coaches; I would have KOC #1, followed by MLF, Johnson, and Campbell clearly last. The love affair with Dan Campbell amazes me. The guy cost his team a SB by being recklessly aggressive in the NFCG in San Fran, lost his coordinators this year and looks lost on the sidelines. I just don't get the love affair with that guy. MLF and Johnson at this point to me are similar the difference is Johnson has only done it for one year and everyone would agree the Bears were exceptionally fortunate in close games this season which will not likely reoccur next year
