  1. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but the math definitely favors the Brewers. Assuming a loss today and a STL win, if the Crew plays .500 ball the rest of the season, STL has to play at an almost .600 pace to catch them. Certainly possible, definitely not likely
  2. Excellent post. It doesn't fit the narrative of the "sky is falling crowd" who are the regulars in the game threads. The facts are the team has a 5game division lead with 54 games left and is in very good position to win the division. If that happens the playoffs are a total crapshoot (see Arizona last year)
  3. My random wish would be Brandon Lowe. Tampa appears to be completely "retooling" and his bat would really thrive at AmFam IMO. The cost might be crazy, but I think he would really help lengthen the lineup
  4. Agree, really like that trade for STL. Glad Edman is out of the NLC as he was always a pain in the backside against MKE. Would have liked the Brewers to get Fedde as I thought he was the most realistic target to upgrade the rotation for this year and next
  5. So the Cards can pay for Fedde, who would slot nicely into this rotation, but you remained obsessed with Bobby Miller, who LAD is very unlikely to trade.....smh
  6. Couldn't disagree with this post more. Six game division lead after today, likely to have 40 man issues in the near future, absolutely "give away prospects" to improve your chances this year
  7. I don't believe obstruction is challengeable...still an awful call by the 2nd base umpire
  8. Completely agree that getting Freeland out of Coors could be a big plus. He would likely slot in as #2 on this current staff. Freddy is still the #1 despite all the garbage he takes on this board IMO
  9. Continue to be consistent...14-10
  10. I think losing Horst might hurt more than some of you think. If you believe the rumor mill, he was not the one making the decisions. He wanted Nick Nurse, GA said no, they hired Griffin. He wanted Kenny Atkinson to replace Griffin, GA said no, they hired Doc. I understand in the NBA you need to cater to your star players, but I wish the stars would just be players and not try to be bad quasi-GM's.
  11. I've got 16-12 for May, would be better if not for the three city road trip (HOU/MIA/BOS)
  12. As much as the majority of this board hates Bauer's, it's likely not him. I would guess either Miller, Dunn, or Weimer would be the odd man out.
  13. This is funny to me, as watching this series tells me the Bucks hammer Indy with a healthy roster (probably in 5). Indy is not the better team by a long shot. However, being available is a big part of the equation in the playoffs, and with the Bucks roster being older the future is clearly uncertain
  14. You continue to beat the Black drum, which I understand to a point. However, this team values defense to a higher degree than most and Black currently remains deficient in that area. I'm tired of Wiemer as well, but the the other three guys you list have all brought value to this year's team. Frelick is what he is a light hitting outfielder, who plays plus defense with excellent speed. Bauers is an excellent first baseman who has saved the rest of the IF multiple errors already this year. Dunn is a solid bench player who has shown enough flashes to remain on the roster at this point IMO. I'm not sure Black is an upgrade at this point
  15. I disagree. The worst case scenario would have been PHI/MIA as the #2 seed. I don't put that much stock in regular season H2H matchups that haven't occurred since January. I much preferred the #3 seed vs Indy, versus the #2 seed vs MIA/PHI. If the seeds hold not having homecourt against the Knicks doesn't concern me either, especially without Randle
  16. In terms of lineup, I believe I read Murphy prefers Yelich in the three spot in the order and that's where he'll be most days (can't remember where I read that so no link, sorry)
  17. I'm a little surprised as I don't believe he's projected to be a R1 selection. Maybe he chasing more NIL money than Bucky's willing to pay....
  18. I certainly respect your opinion and know you are way more pessimistic than the majority of the board on the outlook for the season. However, I would be stunned if they were at 74 wins, in fact I have a futures ticket on season wins over 76.5 that I am quite confident in. The pitching has more questions than were used to around here, but the offense should be significantly improved. In regard to the rest of the division, I don't see this improvement your referring to. I guess we'll see whose crystal ball is clearer in the next 6 months
  19. I'll go with 16-14
  20. Daniel Freitag the 2024 commit from Minnesota is probably the best recruit of the Gard era. As long as Storr stays, there backcourt on paper will be the most athletic and skilled in a long time. The problem I have with GG is his inability to recruit athletic 4/5's. Their frontcourt is the big problem IMO
  21. I agree as long as Jacobs does get the majority of the carries. One of my biggest complaints with MLF is he used Dillon too much when it was Dillon and Jones. He treated them like RB 1 & 1A, not Jones as a clear #1 back. If he continues to do that with Jacobs, that's a problem.
  22. Move the ball, get great shots. Boy, any team looks great when you shot 77% from 3 in the first half!!
  23. I just saw the reported contract on Jacobs 4/$48M. At that price he is likely to be the lead back. I'm just hoping they upgrade on Dillon as I'm definitely not a fan of the Mayor of Door County
  24. Maybe my context was misleading. I love Aaron Jones as a RB. Unfortunately, despite MLF trying to protecting him to a ridiculous level IMO, he couldn't stay healthy. Josh Jacobs led the NFL in rushing two years ago and is significantly younger (especially in NFL RB years)
