  1. Your missing the point, Yelich needs to be in the lineup virtually every day. DHing versus being in LF gets him rest without losing his bat. You, any many others on this board, may disagree with using the DH in that manner, but that appears to be Counsell's preference versus a "bat-only" DH like Hiura
  2. Other than Yelich is their best offensive threat...I'm sure taking his bat out of the lineup will help this already challenged offense score runs...SMH
  3. The Cubs schedule is soft, but that is not accurate as they also have 4 games at the Reds, 3 @ Arizona, and 4 @ Wrigley versus Arizona. The Reds and Dbacks are over .500 as of today. In fact for the rest of the season (excluding H2H matchups) the Cubs have 17 games versus +.500 teams and the Brewers have 15 as of today
  4. Couldn't disagree more...we gave up a lottery ticket at a minor league position of depth. We received a significant upgrade a 1B for the rest of this season
  5. I hope you guys realize there is next to no chance Adames gets sent down to AAA. He is still playing above average defense and even though he's been in basically a season long slump at the plate the dreaded "intangibles", that most fans hate, will prevent a demotion IMO
  6. I agree with bf82, my favorite part of the Santana addition is hopefully not seeing Miller's name in the lineup. Miller is a career utility man who had one tremendous month earlier this year. Unfortunately, CC can't help himself but to overplay guys like that which is my biggest gripe with him as a manager (guys like Miller and Hernan Perez). Then these players become overexposed and tend to be perform poorly
  7. I still think the Crew should go after Jimenez. Cahna can play the outfield and end the Blake Perkins Experience (Thank God!!)
  8. Miller is a well below average at 1st base defensively. 150 innings isn't a large enough sample size to say he is "among the best fielding first basemen in baseball". In fact, the eye test tells you he is much closer to the opposite IMO
  9. Don't agree with that assessment at all... I agree that Brice Turang can't hit a lick at this point, but he's an excellent defender...certainly not below average and Dubon is nothing but a below average journeyman IMO
  10. Draft day prediction for me JSN @ #13 Trade one of the #2's plus a 6th to get back into the end of R1 and take Branch Use the other R2 pick on the best TE available
  11. MVP: Yelich CY Young: Burnes Rookie of the Year: Turang BA Leader: Yelich .305 HR Leader: Tellez ERA Leader: Burnes 2.45 SO Leader: Burnes WAR Leader: Burnes Breakout(s): Turang Disappointment(s): Mitchell, and Adames Bold Prediction (s): Yelich finishes in top 10 for NL MVP, Burnes wins 2nd Cy Young Record: 92-70 (1st in NLC by 4G over STL) Playoffs? Yes. - Lose in NLCS to SD
  12. Defensive would be anyone that isn't overly negative about the team has "Brewer goggles" on. You think your viewpoint is realistic, versus overly negative. I guess the next six weeks will provide that answer...

  14. Your defensive response speaks volumes about your "fandom". Good luck at the sportsbook

  16. Sixto, I know you are one of the more negative posters on this board, but to expect them to be under .500 ROS with 29 of their remaining 39 against non-playoff teams seems to be really over the top...
