  4. I actually thought Villy's stuff was pretty good last night. A lot of great changeups for strikes..a great mix and a lot of movement. It was like the ump saw that the pitch started around the head of the batter and decided then it would be a ball rather than watch the pitch fall to the knees. Obviously he adjusted and threw meatballs. And Colorado isnt exactly a homerun club, which is tough to accomplish with their stadium.
  5. DM on TV last night said they were trying to keep his innings low and mentioned him and Balfour as 2 additions to the main roster soon
  6. I agree the strike zone (and pressure from Yost) were really working against him mentally. He chose to paint the corners and got walks instead, while Villy chose to give the ump what he asked for and gave up the long balls.
  7. Cappy in his first game back from injury was pitching a soild game but got in a little trouble, so Yost decides its time to come out and give him a tongue lashing..which he loves to do from time to time (sometimes just randomly). This wasnt a rookie pitcher (Villanueva)..this was a veteran and recent all star pitcher. He implodes and Yost leaves him in to take his run total from 1 to 7 in that inning before yanking him. Now he gets into a little trouble tonight and starts aiming his pitches. Seems like a Turnbow style meltdown and its all in his head right now. Thoughts?
  8. personally i dont think short guys can hit big league pitching -kirby http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/56/Kirby_puckett.jpg/200px-Kirby_puckett.jpg
  9. 1 Sheets 2 Gallardo 3 Villanueva 4 Coco 5 Capuano 6 Turnbow 7 Wise 8 Suppan 9 Bush 10 Vargas 11 Shouse 12 Spurling Gallardo has torn up the minors the past couple of years and has stepped into the majors as a starter without a hitch. He mixes speeds well, has good velocity and can throw anything for a strike. He can also handle the bat better than any other Brewer pitcher.
  10. I would be disappointed to see Parra go. The Crew currently has roster spots for Spurling, Shouse, Bush, and Vargas. We've been saying all year they could use another middle reliever, and Parra seems perfect for that role. Parra improves the roster and his injury means his trade value isnt anything special.
  11. cant say im too happy to see him go, but obviously it had to happen. Not often a player pins himself and the team in the hole like that. Tiger fan, Capellan has enough arm speed, youth and talent that could make him a steal in this deal. He has also shown a lot of stupidity and a horrible attitude problem. Still, he was able to wise up enough to shut up for the last 2 months and may have turned the corner and learned his lesson. Brewers pitching has been getting better, so they've recently had the luxury of giving up earlier on pitchers (Jorge De La Rosa, Wes Obermuller, Ben Hendrickson).
  12. I think if we have an Inman tracker (and I'm not sure we need one since he's a good year plus away), then we should definitely add Parra and maybe even Jeffres to the mix.
  13. I saw the same thing you did ender.. CV started by painting the corners pretty well and none of them were getting called strikes..he was forced to go right over the middle to get any calls. Meanwhile, the pitch that K'd Fielder up and in told me how this game was going to go
  14. thanks for the great trackers woogie..little nit/request i have.. is there a reason you are just looking at the WC standings? Why not just show the entire NL playoff picture (so we can see how far in front the Brewers are compared to the rest of the league)
  15. I must say this is the first time in my history of following the Crew that I truly expect to sweep a team before the series began.
  16. I too think this is a huge red flag. If the guy has both a groin and a wrist injury, it is evident his rehab should begin by finding a girlfriend.
  17. sheets is just frustrated that he doesnt have his good stuff going yet while the other pitches are carrying the rotation considering their rotation spots. He was talking to Yost as others pointed out, but you could see how pumped he was that the Brewers won the game. He was celebrating as much as Prince.
  18. Vargas swiftly pitch Maholm and Bucs not so much Rat sings at the cow
  19. just got back to ******on from the game..right next to the ballgirl first base side, first row! Sweet watching the game from those seats. I was "comfortable" seeing Bush get to the ninth, but thinking quick hook. He had been dealing all day and his stuff was noticeably weaker to the first batter. In a close game like that, if he's going to put the first guy on (after barely letting anyone on all game), then he just doesnt have it and you move on to the closer. By the time the second batter reached with no outs, you knew you had waited too long. No reason to wait for another batter and take chances in that situation. As for the point Ennder keeps bringing up about Cordero not being available Friday - I get the thought - but you are completely wrong. I actually caught Ned's postgame and he basically said that he planned to use Coco but wanted him to come in the 10th, because that is when the meat of the order was due up. Also, Coco was warming to back that up. My take is similar to someone else that said he was treating Coco like "fine china"..wanting the perfect situation for him where he could basically guarantee a save.
  20. on one hand, there is a ton of game left. On the other hand, the Brewers have Cordero and Turnbow both available tonight.
  21. what a punk. This kid needs to grow up fast.
  22. you referring to "was the first Negro..pause (ahh chit where do I go with this one).. American League player"
  23. I've seen that..he was supposed to report today
