  1. I dont think a rookie triple crown is a big deal. Not a whole lot of rookies have great seasons, so I'd guess it's pretty often that one comes in and dominates the categories compared to the rest of the field. Now if Braun had a complete season, he would be in the running for an actual Triple Crown (Mike Schmidt). And I wouldnt worry about any pitchers either. It's not uncommon for rookie pitchers to dominate while the league figures them out. What is uncommon is for rookies to come in & have seasons like Braun..and even Pence for that matter. It's a 2-horse race and Braun has a solid lead.
  2. nice Braun article on the cover of Yahoo Sportssports.yahoo.com/mlb;_ylt=AhzAPVhuUjAs.spN4BgSh0Y5nYcB
  3. considering the Giants were the worst team in the NL prior to our home series with them, this stat gives me no confidence

  5. I like the move & it was suggested here earlier.. With Weeks & Hart both struggling, makes sense to shake it up a little
  6. A: 4.5 Q: How many games separate the NL first-place Dodgers and the NL 7th place Diamondbacks
  7. oh yeah here it comes.. http://blogimg.goo.ne.jp/user_image/39/d0/b3187c92f6b5621463bcbf57d97a06e5.jpg
  8. A First place Q Where will the Cubs be in a week if the Brewers continue this mediocrity during a homestand? A Johnny Estrada running to first Q What's slower than Johnny Estrada's throw to second?
  9. I'm with you here. A lot of ballpark festivities I look at and say thats stupid or awful or cheezy. But with the rally rabbit, it was so cheesey that it was funny. Too me that is what is necessary to be a good idea - it made me chuckle when I saw it. It's kind of like old Japanese karate movies where the dubbed words are short while the guy is still talking. Here's another example (the dramatic rodent): youtube.com/watch?v=Q67DZRZVC9c
  10. seems strange to hear that from Ash, because there was a radio interview with someone in the organization a month ago, and the person said that the organization views him as a starter..which at the time surprised me
  11. I think in a better situation, Willis would flourish. Florida is beating him down right now, and hopefully if a trade happens, he'll recover - I can see that happening with Maddux. But I wouldnt trade Cappy. We arent too far removed from him being the stopper and ace of the staff. Cappy got banged up..it happens.. and Yost has contributed to his post-injury ERA imo.

  13. sounded insignificant and i think it was known before the draft
  14. let's see.. -the Cubs have evaporated a 10 game lead down to 3.5 in a short period of time -the Brewers have been playing mediocre lately -to top off the weak play, the Brewers lose their ace for a month and their CF indefinitely -the Cubs are healthy and sizzling hot right now I don't think the Cubs will overtake us, but it could be close by the time he gets off the DL.
  15. since he's injured, I'm certain there will be a big announcement before his first game.
  16. and the Brewers organization follows a perfect night with a complete dud from the majors to most the affiliates
  17. that's pretty rotten
  18. hopefully Braun proves me wrong, but I'm fearing a little slump here. Considering how he destroys lefty's, we'll see if my fear is warranted. After watching his HR just barely clear the wall, his next at-bat he starts off 3-0 before K'ing. Since then, he's looked a little too aggressive at the plate to me.
  19. can't find a pic of Satchel Paige with his number on the uni http://www.luminous-landscape.com/images/29_-_bw.JPG (adjusted width --1992casey)
  20. solid wins everywhere. Thats what you like to see

  22. its Balfour who's been hitting 96, not Parra
  23. you can't help but get excited when Braun makes a throwing error in the first.
