  1. i think the most important part about Lopez right now is thats hes consistently succeeding for a full half after a strong second half last season (full season of success with a jump in competition!) and that he still have some projectibility left!! a lot to be excited about and tons of potential left. He might not be there yet in terms of top 100 guys (and maybe he is) but hes not done getting better yet, a lot of the guys ahead of him arent really going to get any better, they are just refining things, Jorge still has the potential to make another jump.
  2. AAA just got a whole lot more fun to follow now with dominguez, wren, sardinas, and clark.
  3. Oh I just remembered on that I was in love with and thought forsure was going to be the next great thing! Evan Anundson! He threw that no hitter in the 10am game for BC and I thought, oh, this guys got it!
  4. Man, wish they would have reconsidered gatewood, he was on a tear! But, maybe they think it would do harm to harrisons confidence if they only sent him down.
  5. BTW, the Rivas deal is a saga. The guy was dominant for a 3 year stretch. Then he got the call, Big League Debut time, He made it! Then his flight got cancelled... By the time is was cancelled the Brewers couldnt get him on another one until it was too late :-( They even checked nearby airports. Rivas stayed good, not dominant, for a while, but his spot was gone and so was his opportunity. He went downhill in a hurry performance wise He was relegated to a relief role and was soon out of the system :-(
  6. saw this coming from about 27 miles away! lets hope scooter keeps the sweet stroke going with the big boys.
  7. The way the slotting works you cant use money from the first 10 rounds for players outside those rounds. They did that to stop teams from bonus babying players in exactly the way people are trying to think of the brewers doing for hooper.
  8. I actually think once smiths suspension is up they will recall Gennett, he wasnt great, but 2nd has been a dumpster fire since he was demoted, plus hes currently tearing the cover off in AAA, and especially hitting lefties well which is a good sign.
  9. I feel like that was set up cause the first one, which was a strike, was called a ball, so when they went back there he had to get more of the plate. The first 2 had cutch turning and ducking and they were strikes (although one was called a ball).
  10. He has big league stuff! The sinker baller might just benefit from a big league infield. Good start, let's see where it goes!
  11. BTW I am REALLY excited about Kirby, his stuff is NASTY!! Check out this video of his No no
  12. Its my guess that they will try to make drossner a starter a la Hobbs Johnson. Watching his film he looks fidgity and sometimes he was moving his feet lot lot in his pitching motion. Looks like a guy who could be "fixed" and might make something out of him, hes got good stuff. I actually like the pick quite a bit.
  13. Im hoping for some left-handed-ness here in round 9. 2 college lefties both named Jared that fit the brewer model, I hope that take one!
  14. It doesnt work that way, you have to sign the picks to get the bonus pool, so you can just not sign them, if you dont you lose the $$$
  15. signable guy, but actually could turn into a utility infielder.
  16. Well based on how it works. You take Hanhold now sign him for underslot meaning you keep that entire slot's money to use. And sign overslot on the guy you'd rather have for rd 6 or somewhat higher money few rounds later. If he declines, that slot for rd 9 or 10 is less than what you'd lose for the slot at rd 6. Gotta be getting to the point where you have 1 of these signings left say 700k-800k to offer. Maybe for Milw. So after the Demi O pick there's a strong chance he was the final Upside pick of the day. A run of College signing types left....or one last savings up for one more HS pick to lure away. I agree with this, its better protection to take your signable guys now, i am hoping they go for one more upside guy, maybe round 9 or 10. I felt like last year they did a great job with woodruff and Yamamoto. Two guys that have some upside to them, taken later, but should have been taken a bit later, but they just bonused both right at slot and got it done.
  17. Meh, thought they could have taken another player or two at this point, still plenty of rounds for the signable guys. but i guess the higher you take them the more slot you can bank, maybe they have a guy they are eyeing later for over slot.
  18. I think they should take Doak Dozier in the 6th. He is very comparable to clark actually. Would be a nice high upside get, then go college seniors the rest of the way.
  19. orimoloye might be it due to his candianness
