  1. Careful. It's statistically proven that the next batter will ground into a double play.
  2. I think the difference is Greinke throws his slow curve a couple times a game as an out pitch. Lilly throws it three times per at bat. I don't have any numbers historically, but the Brewers seem to not get a lot of runs against the slow-ball lefties. Maybe because they rely on the fastball to crank out of the park, or that their lineup doesn't pass up on a ball over the plate. They get a bit too anxious and roll over on the curve instead of waiting back on it and dumping it into the outfield.
  3. Can somebody wait back and hit the laces of that stupid 68 mph junk ball down the pipe?
  4. Claudio Vargas has nothing on Randy. Remember the Houdini nickname?
  5. He was killing Braun with the junk pitches... throw him a fastball down the plate with NO movement. Thanks. I can see Fielder waiting back on that stupid bleeping garbage pitch and looping it out of the park.
  6. We can play defense... now can we PLEASE GET A HIT!? Something!
  7. One of these innings the Dodgers are going to capitalize on their baserunners. Can we get some run support? The Brewers haven't been close to a guy on base.
  8. Wilson's glove flip was very impressive. Jerry's throw to home was a strike, my goodness. Can we get our offense figured out now?
  9. What's this nonsense of Prince not being able to throw to a good ball home!!! YES!!!
  10. I like Wilson starting here. I really hope the offense picks up though. Look for Wilson to have a hot night.
  11. Outs on balls for Pirates: 28% Outs on balls for Brewers: 34% Total: 30% Glad this game was a statistical anomaly
  12. Put the go-ahead run at second... don't worry about the guy that's 0-3
  13. Man I was just thinking, "When was the last time a MLB team won a 0 run 2 hitter with 5 right handed pitchers on the mound?"
  14. Did anyone else see "On Deck: Marco Estrada" on the graphic at top?
  15. All he has to do is get a hit not try to hit a head high fastball out of the park. Yeah I guess plating two on a dump into right field isn't good enough when the bases are loaded.
  16. I think McGehee's success as of late has come from him taking pitches and trying to get on base and dumping the ball in right field. Over-swinging on the first two pitches put him in that situation... but he has to try and be the hero there.
  17. Wow RR is an idiot for not leaving Estrada in there with our middle relievers :P Glad I was wrong... which isn't very often.
  18. You really need to stop trying to argue against pulling Estrada. He was only going to go about 5 because he's not stretched out. So regardless of whether or not his spot was coming up in the order, he was done. RR putting in his best bunting pitcher was a very smart move, since he didn't have to waste a pinch hitter. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was initially arguing that they should not pull him soley for offensive reasons when you're going to bunt anyways. If they're pulling him anyways, of course that was a good move. I just thought he could have gone an extra inning since he was cruising with a relatively easy road. I'm glad Saito had an easy inning, proving the move decent. I admit I'm not all that familiar with the difference between 60 some and 70 some pitches for a normal reliever. I do, however, think the Brewers should stay aggressive with a lead in the division, and we've seen RR a bit conservative.
  19. Estrada can't bunt? Not as well as Greinke, no. So if he's coming out of the game anyhow, have your best pitcher at bunting...bunt. No problem at all with this move, very smart baseball actually.Your reason for pulling him an inning early was for offensive reasons... which was to bunt... now your reason for sending him in to bunt was that they're pulling him early. Circular argument. I don't agree with pulling a pitcher that's cruising at this point when he might be your best option to get a quality start and save a reliever.
  20. Because it's a 1-0 game and we need this run, and Estrada was probably going to go only one more inning anyhow.Estrada can't bunt?
  21. This has to be one of the most baffling moves I've seen this season. Why is Estrada out when he was cruising?
  22. I'm going to start keeping track of outs coming on pitches out of the zone vs outs coming on a strike in the zone. I'll let you know the results at the end of the game.
