  1. oh, I did not pay attention re the switch hitters - and I cannot complain about Helms for Branyan as long as Ned is consistent; I dont think Ned is very consistent... more of a gut feeling manager, rather than playing percentages re tonight... yeah, we just lost; our normal 'somebody's turn to blow up and cost us the game'. I am quite adament that these guys have the talent to do better, they just stumble at inopportune times because they are scared of winning I could be wrong... but when you pitching is (was a few days ago) in the top 1/3 in the leage, and your batting (was a few days ago) in the top 1/2, and you score more runs than the other teams (overall), AND you are a few games below .500 instead of a few games above.... then you have mental issues - not mental like in hospital, but mental like scared to win...
  2. Oh, no... where do I start.... we cannot bring in Eveland for a lefty lefty matchup with the game on the line, but we can burn Branyan to get Helms in.... for a lefty-righty matchup. Ned has gone mad!
  3. You said LOSE I am a psychic. Sometimes I forget the average mortals cannot understand when I predict a Brewer loss when they are behind in the 8th. But I am not perfect. One time, about 20 years ago, the Brewers responded with some heart and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat... unlike this current mob who prefer the more humane (from the other teams and fans point of view) snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Wow, the Latroy Hawkins (of 20 previous teams and 100 previous meldowns) sure looks good tonight. My team makes me sick.
  4. hmmm. another game where we outhit the opposition and LOSE. I am beyond words. It's the 8th. We haven't lost the game nor has the hit colum been decided as of now. honestly, there are some weird people here.... let me rephrase it is the 8th inning we are losing and we have outhit the opposition.... as usual if that continues through the nineth then we LOST and outhit the opposition jeez
  5. Thanks for the eye witness account Sheets. On line I dont see that stuff. But those are the things that loser teams do. There are dozens of moments each game that make up the difference between winners and losers... and the losers will balk at more opportunities than winners. So Clark is more interested in keeping a bruise from his body than winning a game for the people that pay him millions. That says a lot about him.
  6. hmmm. another game where we outhit the opposition and LOSE. I am beyond words.
  7. hi kiwi, I am in Sydney, I am still grumpy at getting up at 4 am two days ago to see us lose 3 zip when Ohka was throwing a no hitter. geez. How can you be a brewer fan in NZ? Were you banished from Wisconsin?
  8. I was so depressed (around the 4th inning) my wife decided to give me a massage... and I must have fallen asleep. I dreamed we scored 5 runs in only 1/3 of an inning! I thought Wise would be a great starter this year, but now I am so happy to see him in the 7th and 8th with a slim lead. He is good, he is anti-brewer good.
  9. You know, to be honest, this team is beginning to make me angry. I wonder if payday came and we said, oh sorry guys, we pay on performance - so here is 25% of your contract to match your 25% performance.
  10. Darn, that is three too many for us to catch up.
  11. Let me declare this half inning the watershed of 2005. If we whimper away our year whimpers away. If we show some guts (have some good at bats) we will be ok. If we actually win, ha ha, the entire year will be a success. Now... who is up?
  12. RyDogg can I edit your poem passed ball error error passed ball intentional walk 3-Run HR by the pitcher We are pure KLASS.
  13. Even a split in this series would I think it is funny how many of our group comments go like; we going to win he next 6 games ...then we lose the first of the 6 and then we say... winning 4 of 6 is all we need ...then we lose the next game and we say... splitting this series will be all we need ...then we lose another and say... this bottom placed team we are playing has been hot, if we get one game from them that is all we need ...then we actually split the next two (going 1 and 5) and we say... that was ok, we are going ok, we should be able to sweep this next series v St Louis go to beginning of loop my take is more simple, the guys are playing like chokers and I do not like it
  14. I wonder if we would snag a couple of extra games each year if our pitchers batted above .100. Vic is .031. I think Sheets is less??? Imagine if you had shortstop that was a .300 batter as opposed to a .200 batter. The same applies to the 9 batter I guess. Why cant our pitchers at least hit .100.
  15. I wonder if we will get a Nedly statement like yesterday: the loss was not too hard to stomach because the other pitcher was so good. I love those one liners he comes up with.
  16. hmmm, cy young again... era over 5.50 home runs allowed, one every 4 2/3 innings k v bbs a 23 v 21 hits = lots but against the Brewers.... geez
  17. I dont like this ball, ball, ball THEN try to find the plate. Victor is pitching scared. And the proof is easy, AFTER he throws 2 or 3 balls, THEN he can come near the plate - so he CAN do it. This is going to lead to a painfully, slow death on the diamond.
  18. I am sure Parra is exactly the guy you pick up in a rule V draft and hide him on the MLB roster. You can DL him quite a while, then you can rehab him in the minors, and then hide him for a month on the 25 man, then hide him again when rosters expand. I read you can pick hurt (high ceiling) pitchers and really only carry them a month on the 25 man roster (the month of July - Aug mainly). I would like the Crew to try that every year! (gaining, not losing)
  19. This could be huge. If we get to within a game of .500 the entire fabric of the universe, as we know it, could change. Be ready.
  20. Thanks for all the highs and lows guys. I just woke up this morning (here an afternoon game is like 3 am) and then I have this new habit... I look at the length of the game thread before I check the scores. If the thread is long, it means we won or we did something incredibly stupid. So I know I will have interest. A super short thread means a big loss - so there is no interest to read. Then I go to the start and read all the way, post by post. What a good way to relive the game. You guys to a great job. (by the way, I predicted only minutes before Jenks first double in the three double game a couple of weeks ago, that he cannot, cannot be so bad - he must emerge....and he WILL emerge NOW... my first and only correct prediction in my life!) We actually have a decent team!
  21. hoffy.... did you want Jenks to face Tavarez to bring in Ray King, or are you talking about a different pinch-hit opportunity? yes, for sure Brian. I think I actually would have pinch hit Jenks for Lee; then that would have swapped Mag around to the right (he is better there, hey?); and I even wanted to see Branyan for Moeller/Hardy The game was set up perfectly for Ned to manage - and he did nothing I can stomach losing with our best players - that is life; but to actually not play our best players when you have guys on 2nd and 3rd in a one run game in the 8th inning when you have the bench and the flexibility to do it is so so so bad I hate losing because our mangage is dumb; I dont like that at all; it is sad I am sad; darn
  22. Amen Rob. I am tired of: we are just not any good we had bad luck the other teams are really good we are doing well to be over 10 wins at this stage wait until next year We should expect that our guys can do better than 0-13 with RISP; we should expect our manager will actually try to use his brain
  23. 0-13 with RISP; but the same guys can get base hits galore to get INTO scoring position the only conclusion: mental problem, choking, pressing, anti-clutch, whatever you like it was like the extra inning game when suddenly the same guys that bashed the ball for three innings suddenly go 0 for 28; those are not statistical deviations or 'outliers' (they happen too often); this team has mental problems - as does the manager when he manages like this did not jenks need a full day off; and cannot be used in a situation that everyone can see; then he appears in a who cares, doesnt matter role in the next inning we should just forget about this day by the way, the PLAYERS can see how Ned manages, how long before they start to get angry; what a joke batting mag instead of Jenks (heck I would have even batted Jenks for Lee and Branyan for Magruder... that was the game RIGHT there) shame Ned and shame on the collar boys... 0-13... c'mon
  24. Would it not be great to struggle with RISP, but your brilliant manager somehow manages to pinch hit with RISP with a really good batter, and the game is won. That was a possibility. But Ned was completely asleep. Welcome to the Nedster hunch style of managing... or the I will do the wrong thing unitl it accidentally pays off one day... just so I can show you I am right. How terrible.
  25. So Dana will pitch every day now?
