  1. I would prefer to lose with our best players; it is disgusting to lose when your best, hottest, highest paid players (who, actually bat the opposite hand to the pitcher on the mound) are left on the bench shame, ned, shame hang your head in shame
  2. i hope branyan and jenks are enjoying their night off; we dont need them
  3. re JJ, some guys do season well in the fire. I think if he were sitting at AAA he would not be developing anywhere near as quickly as he is now; it is always a tough call to throw a guy unprepared into the fire; but JJ is responding well really, the future is bright; but we got to stop killing ourselves; we have had twice baserunners tonight, but the other team has 3 times the runs ridiculous
  4. dude.... sweet..... duude.... sweeet.... duuuuuuuuuuuude.... sweeeeeeeeeeet
  5. missed the excitement on the Hall play, but that silly Rolen at bat takes Wise out of the game I think, 28 pitches in one inning. Darn. Good baseball by Rolen. Like was mentioned, I hope our guys are watching. It would be amazing to snag a win here. Keep hangin in there guys.
  6. Hey, but the guys are playing decent baseball against a really good team. I am enjoying this. No boneheaded plays. We are having our chances. (Actually, was the triple given up by Clark a dumb, dumb or just lack of skill). My point is, if the guys dont do boneheads, they are a decent team. C'mon Crew.
  7. hey can we get a minor league update without having to go there, I am at work, and too many clicks looks suspicious
  8. this will fix that stupid pythagorean formula
  9. This is going to be a schoolyard whooping... we will learn. It is ok. We will learn.
  10. I should put my money down now on St Louis to win the world series. Their team strikes fear into me. Good pitching and good mashing. If we can stay close I will so happy.
  11. super 'ii', thanks. I like especially He thinks that keeping count of American League vs. National League wins will further increase interest in the games and the rivalries, and maybe this count could be used as a basis for determining home field advantage in the World Series The Brewers are putting a lot of emphasis on defense. They have been using an "exaggerated defense", meaning that they are positioning players on the field more aggressively He feels that using more pitchers will increase the chance that you will call in a pitcher who is having an off day that day. He feels that designating one reliever as the "closer" is better than the "committee" approach, particularly as it shows that the team has confidence in that one designated pitcher. I dont say I agree with all, but I am interested Doug is so clear on his views.
  12. Am I allowed to be grumpy at Rogers. His team spots him a 3 run lead and he starts walking guys. Mind you, the three runs he gave up were unearned. But you cannot walk more guys than you strike out. I wonder why he is so wild. I know the competition is different to Maine, but the plate must be the same size, the mound about the same height, and the distance somewhere between 50 and 70 feet.
  13. I am so happy that daily I can see almost all the squads in first place. C'mon Huntsville. I am especially happy to see WV get to .500. And these squads are hanging in there despite losing guys to Milwaukee and up the chain. And there are not a zillion old guys filling out each team. Good job, Brewer management. (seems like I post the same sentences a lot, but what the heck)
  14. I wish Ned would get himelf thrown out more early in the game. Then perhaps we do not have to trot out a reliever in a big time yukky funk in close games. How can a manager put a guy in that does not know where his pitches are going withing two feet. That was sad. Again, let me reiterate, I really think Ned needs to learn to win just like the players. If Ned had managed this game like the 7th game of the World Series, we would NOT have seen Botts. So, now I need to put up with all the 'it is just one game, the bullpen is rested now, what do you expect from the Brewers, etc etc'. I am just sad that Ned did not manage this game like it was the most important game. But we only played one game today. We should make it the most important. By the way, if you want to reply that I am wrong, make sure you type the words 'If I was managing the Crew today, I would have chose Bottialico to pitch after Caps in a tie game'.
  15. It is so sad when your reliever has no control in a tie game. If we get out of this is by 'good luck and not good management'. Here's hoping for good luck.
  16. Lil Ben dealing so far in game 2 6 k's in 3 innings make it 8 ks in 4 innings, 0-0 game
  17. I have seen guys step almost directly home (I know this 45degree line) and constantly NOT be called for a balk. But, as a runner, if the foot does draw back over the rubber toward second, you are safe to go. Funny, but releivers rarely, rarely pitch from the stretch like that. So, Stanton just tried to con the umpire. I am sure that would not be his normal pickoff move. So, congrats to the guys for battling and hanging in there. They may begin to believe. I am!
  18. This has pushed me over the edge. I am now really going so sign up for therapy. My only problem: in America if I mention 'Brewers' the therapist will be immediately on side. Here, they will not understand.
  19. This could be big. C'mon Crew, dont be scared. You can do it! Just play NORMAL.
  20. Is this my reward for staying calm. The All Star Break grumpy be gone resolution was almost gone. This team is tough on us. Really tough.
  21. I only ask that they play normal. Normal is not getting picked off base. Normal is not making outfield throwing errors. Normal. I only ask for normal. Nothing superhuman. Normal. Please.
  22. re lead of double Moeller getting picked off with nobody out: I am so disappointed this team does more dumb things than the other team. How can we not understand you cannot dumb, dumb a run a game away. It is not a run a game, I am sure, but it feels that way. Darn.
  23. I dont know how much I can trust the pitch locations on sportsline's gamecenter, but Ben when it is a strike, it is is well in the zone, a ball is well out of the zone. Hernandez is forever right on the edge of the strike/ball line at the knees and on the outside and low and outside corner. I would love to steal this game. It will make up for a few duds before the break. C'mon guys.
  24. carlos with a seven pitch (six were balls) walk; why is hacking at balls way out of the zone (balls 4 and 5 that at bat)
