  1. I notice the graph dropped a lot with the comment 'go to Helling'. Did the graph go down so much just because Helling came in?
  2. bad luck for me the Nashville audio link is full, too busy but this game is now 8-5 Nashville, but Meyers has allowed 1 or 2 runs in every inning (4) he has pitched so far, but I love it when the youngsters lead Prince 3 for 3 with homer Hart now 2 for 3 with homer Krynzel (I hope against hope he will improve) 2 for 3 Cruz now 1 for 3 with stolen base It will be good to see Capellan / Bennett / Davis throw if they are up to it. I did not realise it, but Capellans era since he went to the pen is 1.32 and he likes it there (the article is at the end of here ">p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...1&stop=4http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif
  3. Hey, I have the trifecta (and more) going. I am at work on Sunday because I had a fight with my wife, so home is not safe and I am listening to the Crew's most boring game of the year. and I am on salary, so I am only donating my time and At least it is good to be alive until My wife catches up with me I love you all. ***edit*** I replied to the blank message before it was blank. So my retort is clever. You gotta trust me on that. ***end edit*** ...off to the minor league forum
  4. Lehr did a favour for Rick. His era is now at 11.57, but if Lehr let those inherited runners in Rick would be at 23.14.
  5. At least this will hasten the end of the experiment 'bring up 30 year old guys with 4 era's from AAA and showcase them for trades' It would be so, so much more pleasant to watch young guys with stuff and futures take their lumps. That we can stomach.
  6. Who was it that posted the Brewers were a great team for helping pitchers with 5+ eras get them back in to the 4s. Well Leiber is now at 4.97. We have done it again. Our poor Brewers have reverted back to their nasty ways. Errors. Walking guys. Quick, productionless at bats. I mean when we hack at the first pitch and hit weak liners. I dont mind a great hack at a first up strike. Anyway, let us see if we can at least crawl a little closer in this game. Let us hang in there and see what happens.
  7. I only ask for some solid at bats. I cannot believe that Lieber will shut us down. Another high era guy that is giving us fits (so far). I dont want the guys to have a let downer now. *edit* 2 pitches, two outs DARN
  8. The last few games we have making up for our bad luck earlier. Let play good ball, ride a little luck, and keep on the up. I cannot imagine we moved from 3 games back to .500 on the road. We stink on the road. I feel so much like this team is turning the corner. At least they are peeking around the corner. They were scared to even peek before. But now that they have seen the promised land (over .500) they almost appear to like it.
  9. If Helena win the 2nd half, like they did the first half, do they play themselves in the playoffs? What are the chances for the teams to be in the post season. I remember that Brevard County need not beat Vero Beach, as Vero Beach won the first half. Is there any such luck with Huntsville and West Virginia?
  10. Nashville had such a bad run for a while, but with the double header sweep are now SEVEN games up. They are playoff bound 99%. Hart is amazing me. 27 stolen bases. He had a couple walks tonight as well, and back solidly over .300 in average. He is just improving. Cruz I can see it coming back to the pack a little, but having those two guys knocking on the door is brilliant. I am amazed (again) at the difference between MLB and AAA for guys who are mid to late 20s. Glover and Obie are dominant in AAA and really tough to watch in Milwaukee. I really do still have hope for Obie, being a late starter and all that. But, I think I am most excited now about Capellan. He is really doing a stand up job as a reliever. His era is down to 3.90, it was mid 4s wasnt it, a while back as a starter. I dont know what to think about Kane Davis. Another nugget for Doug. How many high 90s washed up guys can Doug find. Maybe we always need to have one or two in Milwaukee (ala Kolb and Turnbow) so these guys with one last hurrah in their bones will always ring Dougie on the phone. (we only need them to ring, I guess, if they throw 97+). Mind you, Matt Wise would not be hear, and I love him. The Brewer management have assembled a great (and interesting) mob at Nashville. Oh, I forgot Prince with tator 22. I guess he will hit 30 after a terribly slow start and a few weeks in Milwaukee. He can mash. I never think about delaying arby clocks, but maybe Overbay should stay here until trade deadline NEXT year. I would guess O will still put up similar numbers next year to those we expect from Prince in Prince's first year. And Prince may be one of those few, few truely elite guys that will be at $15 mill a year when he is out of arby. I dont forget about closer Bennett and his 2.9ish era as the closer. In reality, we could see, next year at AAA Krynzel, Hart, Cruz in the outfield and Fielder at first, and even Enrique The Error Cruz at short. And the rotation, should be pretty sweet full of prospects as well. This whole Brewerfan thing is kind of exciting this year.
  11. from espn game review Trailing 9-8 in the ninth inning Thursday, Milwaukee manager Ned Yost considered his options. The Brewers were rallying with runners at first and second and none out against the New York Mets. Overbay, who singled home the go-ahead runs the night before and had singled home two runs earlier in this one, was coming up. "As much as I wanted to bunt, I didn't want to give up an out," Yost said after a five-run ninth carried the Brewers to a 12-9 victory. Overbay understood the circumstances and bunted on his own anyway, putting the tying run on third and the lead run on second. ----------------------------- Funny, I did not rail re that bunt. Overbay and I were on the same page. I do get grumpy at Ned, but I still say, all in all, I think he is best for the team. I really mean that and have said it often. But I will go stupidly upset if he does things that will (in my opinion) lessen our chances. I almost think the biggest improvement we can now make in our team is the in game management!
  12. I lay awake for one hour before I got one hour of sleep (the game finished about 6:30 am here). I was too excited to sleep. My one hour of sleep I got made me late for work. But I am here at work now hmmming Christmas songs. I am humming them subconsciencely (however the heck you spell it). You better watch out. You better not shout. Better not worry even with the Nedster Jenks and Lee, even Clark will, come through. Davis had a problem Helms was on the bench The pitching was so terribly bad It was just a big, big stench But the youngsters came through The oldsters came through The catchers were there Even two of them - TRUE Brewers are marching to town.
  13. well, that was kind of fun, good night... enjoy the afterglow
  14. In refernce to the Durrington bunt, I say... Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you take a look at the suckfest that the Mets bullpen is, it makes perfect sense -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOFFY replies... Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How much can I disagree. If we get the lead we have wise to come in... instead we get our ....fest - santana -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What can I say? When you're right, your right. The suckfest that is the Mets bullpen was the difference in this game. naivin, I congratulate your intelligence, you knew we would score 5 run off a reliever with an era in the 2s. I suspect that plan may not work everyday. But today is not everyday... that is for sure!
  15. oh hell, sitting up from 2 am to 6 am, i think i have a sniffle and will be off sick today
  16. oh no, what do we do... we have two catcher in the game?????
  17. This is too much...... sorry for the one liner This is too much.... is two lines ok
  18. When the Brewers have scored 7 runs and can't win a game, my thoughts immediately turn to the pitching staff. I can forgive you for jumping to that obvious conclusion. However, if I pointed out the manager did 'what scoop said re branyan/duro' And our best two relievers never got in a close game And our starter had something physically wrong with him, but was left in to die ....your thoughts may turn to a different place
  19. In your odd little baseball worls, if someone other than Ned was managing the Brewers, they would be up there challenging the Cardinals. oh, you caught me out, what I wrote was an anagram for exactly that I am talking about today's game; ned had brain meltdown... sad really
  20. i told you all ned's relatives posted here
  21. if you tie the game, they have six outs, you have three, it does not make sense ned... it does not make sense When you take a look at the suckfest that the Mets bullpen is, it makes perfect sense. How much can I disagree. If we get the lead we have wise to come in... instead we get our ....fest - santana
  22. I congratulate our players for only losing by one (so far) in a game where their manager has made enough managing 101 errors that an entire remedial class could be based on it. He set the batters up to fail or only get close. He left his best relief pitchers in the pen. He left a distraught, and possibly hurt pitcher in until he gave up seven walks and walked away the lead. Congrats players... you are top notch. Hang in there. You have just played through Ned's lowest moment, and you almost won.
  23. I am confused, is it better to lose by one, rather than two... is it better to tie rather than go ahead by a run darn ned, just plain old wrong ned, if you tie the game, they have six outs, you have three, it does not make sense ned... it does not make sense
  24. ned confuses me, he did not let Jenks hit for Magruder a couple of weeks ago - left Magruder in from his bad side... yet today he pulls Branyan 'from his bad side' for a bunter to play for a tie?????????
  25. sorry ned, i do not agree at all let the guy swing away... no small ball
