  1. to be honest at this point you might as well spend the 75-150 on a plumber then renting something and dealing with the mess or the chance something could go wrong.
  2. The only reason Suppan isn't pitching for his job is because of his salary. I would say Cappy and Bush are probably better than Suppan. If you're worried about Cappy and Bush you should be worried about Suppan as well imo. you miss the point, Soup is out there just stretching his arm, so he probably isnt throwing hard, or his better stuff right now. True Soup makes the most and thats why he is gurenteed a spot, if he wasnt i would imagine he would be pitching differently. On the other hand Cappy and Bush are going all out pitching for a job and getting hit around.
  3. it may be lower down the line. Is your basement finished? If not go down and find the clean out(4" diameter cap probably 4'-5' off the ground on your main drain.) You may want to call a plumber if you dont want to deal with the mess that will come from popping the clean out off.
  4. i am more worried about Cappy and Bush then Soup. I would imagine that Soup isnt really going all out being the grizzled vet that he is, plus he isnt pitching for a job.
  5. Never plunge your plumbing(other then toliet), especially if you have Pvc, the pressure caused is bad for the joints. Since the drains would be connected at a the main with a y joint, you may want to check that. The vent is just there to exhaust the "stink", it really doesnt play any part unless you for some reason the pipe became overly . Since it has been warm and your vent is 10" above your roof you shouldnt have a problem with that.
  6. make sure your garbage disposel isnt clogged. Get an allen wrench, on the bottom there should be a spot for you to "back out" the gears. Does this for a couple turns. Then run your disposal while running water and see if that does anything.
  7. so much for Munson making the teamhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. Uke actually was a Pro Baseball player at one point.
  9. i was just throwing numbers out there, but when it comes to High School, most of these guys played as Frosh or Sophs, with the amount of different levels in high school in different states it isnt that hard to think that 50 of upper level D1 players played on State teams. 4-6 Divisions per state, 3-4 years to accomplish that and you it isnt that much of a stretch.
  10. First off Reed, its baseball, you can settle down a bit. If you are this upset about players taking things then you should watch any proffesional sport, there are more steroids in the NFL, Pot in the NBA etc. Second, i think you need to do some research before you go on rants, There were tons of articles about Josh Hamilton talking about his past and how is living beyond that time. Here is just one for you.. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070219&content_id=1807988&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb&partnered=rss_mlb
  11. the league has to have been littered with players that won state, NCAA and the Super Bowl. Remember there are 52 players or so on a roster, everyone was a star to some extent in college and defiently in high school. You can almost gurantee that at least 50% or more of players in the NFL won state in high school, 10-15% of the the NFL were members of NCAA championship teams.
  12. people also have to remember that there are random over the counter stuff that alot of you take, and that you think nothing of that is banned by MLB. Hell some cold medicines are on there.
  13. you know when old comedians, actors or random celebraties try to play baseball in spring traing, man i hate it when that happens..... (For the younger crowd on here, reference Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest on SNL)
  14. is it just me, but when the manager tells you not to strike out it seems like the computer makes it overly hard not to. What i mean is, even if the pitch is down the middle and i guess right and swing right i will foul it off or miss all together. My other complaint is that the computer is able to get to everything it seems, 90% of flyballs are caught and pretty much every grounder is too. I should adjust the sliders a bit now that i think of it.
  15. a five year veteran or more making that play in ST, not acceptable. A kid fighting for his career and trying to fullfill a dream, perfectly fine. Any and i repeat any player in that kids position would do the same thing. This may your only chance to make an impression on the major league manager. Hustle and determination like that will get you noticed.
  16. Well Reed that makes you 0-2 on your rants. First you think D. Young is faking a life threating disease and now you think Cameron is faking post concussion after a horrible collision, which by the way was worse then what happened to Koskie. To those who think you can fake it, it isnt something you can lie your way through. It is a neuralogical test where they ask questions and have you do tasks and monitor the brain to see if the right areas are firing. It is fine to be skeptical but at least pick the players that dont have medical and physical evidence to back up what they are saying and disprove everything you are saying. I do agree about the red flags, he talks about losing concentration and train of thought. I hope that is the worst of his syndromes and that they will over time go away and not the begining of something worse.
  17. ever since the whole contract episode Prince couldnt get a hit off of Cheech and Chong
  18. Two things, Kendall is to much of a Yost "battler" type for his statistics to get the way. Secondly i think with this being the year they are pushing Munson might be the better option, plus just like Yost loves "battlers", Melvin loves to find the scrap heap players and prove they are still major leaguers. With that said Rottino's ability to play pretty much any position may help especially if a player like Kapler forces his way onto the roster pushing Dillion back to the minors.
  19. Pogo it really wasnt as much a political post as it was to show the craziness of the first post. And to be fair it was ripping both parties essentially rendering it a non political affilliated statement.
  20. and boom goes the dynamite, Sheets blows up.
  21. wow thanks for that insightful post(that wasnt condecending, just sarcasm). There are 3 weeks left in spring training, and everyone knows, since Doug and others have said that would be looking for prospects instead of veteran players.
  22. no real new news about Kelly Nolan. She was found about 2 miles from house. Since she was left in the elements in the middle of summer for about a week, the physical evidence if any on her was either gone or distroyed by animals. I studied Criminology and studied serial killers as it applied to criminal profiling. The fact that they were from the same area is weird but these type of murders happen every single day, so while sad, its not really out there. The term overkill refers to a person doing more to a victim that would be required to kill that person, IE stabbing someone 30 times, Choking someone then shooting them in the head and so on.
  23. It sucks because you spend all your points on fielding and then your power and hitting drops. I have been in the Brewers minor league system 3 times, having been traded twice in my 6 year career(i sim some), maybe i should take the hint. I got the call up in my second year, batted .350 in 10 games and got sent down to AAA and dropped to AA at the end of the year.
  24. The problem with the RTTS is that you are required to do the attributes that the coach wants you to fill, generally your fielding, throwing etc. This would be fine but with the way points are given out and taken away during a game you only make about 30-50 on average per game, if you are good. Each upgrade cost 40 and it takes about 160 to get it up high enough to meet the requirements. So after the two three weeks are up you pretty much used all the games to get the two or three requirements up to par. Well the problem is that since you spent all your points on the required areas you are unable to upgrade areas like power or speed.
  25. 3 factors that keep Counsell in the roster 1. Above average middle infielder that can back up 2nd, SS and 3rd. 2. I cant see the Brewers eating the 2.2 or so million he is making this year. 3. his grittiness and "gamer" factor is like perfume to Yost.
