  1. Given Melvin and Co. caution, is it possible that Rogers could start the year in Arizona (maybe an extended spring training) before coming to Beloit next summer?

  3. The Code feature is very useful when copying-and-pasting box scores into posts. The Code feature is what allows all the columns to lineup.
  4. One factor that may skew the data, however, is the tendency of teams not to push HS pitchers in their initial seasons. They won't draft a guy if he's hurt, and if they don't pitch him a lot right after he's drafted, his injury risk at 18 is dramatically reduced. But that's just a guess, and I don't know how long the premise (that teams baby HS pitching draftees at first) has even been true. It could also suggest college pitchers are being pushed too hard until they are drafted. Thus developing injuries after the fact from overuse. One thing that we seem to be forgetting in all this isn't the HS-drafted players that get hurt in the minors or college drafted players that stay injury free. We've spent a lot of time talking about them What about the number of kids who go to college and get hurt? Could any of them have been "saved" had from abuse and injury if they had been properly developed by a major league organization? How many college arms died because they were allowed to throw 120 pitches a game 6 times as a freshman at USC?
  5. Nice to see Krynzel's hot streak continue. Maybe the injury and rest did him some good. He'd played a lot of baseball the past couple of years, and he definately looked worn out last year when I saw him in Huntsville.
  6. question....of the seemingly 90% of posters calling the season over on Thursday evening, how many feel it is still over? I say we take this one today, and go for 3/4ths of a sweep! Wrap up the season series with the Cubbies ASAP! I have enjoyed this team more than any in recent memory. I was very skeptical the first two weeks of the season, and then decided to just enjoy it. After MIlwaukee's sweep of the Cubs, I jumped on the "contenders" bandwagon. I'm going to stay on that wagon until Milwaukee prooves they aren't. Now, I realize that Milwaukee is a long-shot, and they've got too many weaknesses to expect them to make the playoffs. However, I think their pitching is good enough that they'll hang around, and because they play so many games in the Central they will have a say in who does make the playoffs. So, no- I'm not off the bandwagon.
  7. I think Santos will get the win...
  8. It sounds like Hall left for second because he thought he could beat the SS or 2nd baseman to second... which seems questionable. And then Clement appearantly was thinking about what Pods will be doing after the game tonight. I'll take it... even tho it will probably never happen again in our lifetime. http://static.userland.com/images/sortagolfmanilasitescom/lisacart.gif Thanks Lisa!
  9. I'm glad Jenkins homered... and I'm glad the game is tied. BUT... what's the over-under on the "This is the start of a patented Jenkins hot streak... " posts?
  10. I can see Al's picture, using WInXP and IE 6.x. Additionally, I'm hosting my image on our Charter website. So, I haven't a clue why some can see it and others can't.
  11. why the hell do you keep harping on this? Because, Clancy can only think of one thing at a time, for weeks at a time. Give him some time and he'll go on to harping on something else for weeks on end. Sort of like the weather.
  12. I don't think you can get into the park early enough to watch the Brewers take BP, tho I could be wrong. The last time we tried that several years ago we got in as soon as the gates were open and the visitors (the Reds, I think) we already taking BP.
  13. Isn't it cool to lose four in a row and then beat the Cubs to go back to 4 games over .500?
  14. I so wish Grieve was just a below average defender. He's being hitting better lately.
  15. Ok, it's time to save some Karma for tomorrow. I think the Brewers can take it from here today.
  16. Anybody else feel like a man who hits like Lyle should lead the league in doubles AND triples? Someone asked Jenkins why Overbay led the league in doubles earlier this year. Jenkins answer was "He's too slow to lead the league in triples." Besides, I don't know if there is a record in MLB much harder to break than 36 triples in a season. At least we can dream of Overbay's 68th double.
  17. Is it OK to be excited about 2 innings?
  18. Jobu needs some rum. Or to sacrifce a live chicken.
  19. Could someone else have caught that ball? Hart could have.
  20. [Doing my clancy impression] Where are Hart and Hendrickson? [/Doing my clancy impression]
  21. Where are Corey Hart and Ben Hendrickson again?
  22. For some reason I felt this belonged in the major league forum tonight. I wish I knew something you guys didn't. Who knows? You might have more pull than you realize. We can hope anyways. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
