  1. I won't be nearly as gullible next year!!
  2. Come on Peavey, that team had MASSIVE injury issues to end the season. This team had one major injury all year. This years team, relative to the rest of major league baseball, was probably above average health wise. They didn't really improve much, if at all, in the last two seasons. That is what has me and should have other Brewers fans concerned.
  3. Couldn't agree more. However, I do think Yost is back, we hear the same hype next year going into the season. Doesn't have me excited about 2008 at all.
  4. Outside of eating our young offensive studs arby clocks? We're going to win 83 games max. 2 more games than 2005, where we had considerably less talent. We blew a 8 game division lead. Yost continued to show no improvement as a manager in his areas of deficiency. Defense was just as bad as last year if not worse. Turnbow regressed. Bullpen and rotation well below expectations. I guess I don't buy the whole, "they'll learn from being in a pennant race" line. Winning a pennant race, maybe, just being close in the worst pennant race in baseball? Nope. We didn't accomplish anything this year, in my opinion, and showed regression or remained stable in several key areas. So disappointing I can't even think straight.
  5. About as pathetic as it is hilarious at this point. I can't do anything but laugh anymore. Having Counsell bunt with 2 strikes is amazing, as is Cordero giving up a HR with 2 outs. But that's how the season has gone. 2008 will be better, hopefully, although as a Crew fan I wonder if I will be saying "next year" for the rest of my damn life. We need to win out probably to have a shot at the playoffs.
  6. We can officially start talking about 2008. Less than a year until our fifth second half collapse in a row!! Can you feel it?
  7. 8-2 is exactly what I said in the chat if we lost tonight, and most scoffed at that, but I stick by it. That would mean only a PLAYOFF if the Cubs went 6-3, which they will. Basically, we can start talking about 2008.
  8. I figure we need to go 10-6 to win this thing. Looking less and less likely by the day.
  9. Absolutely unacceptable play all around. Meanwhile, the Cubs are starting to play well-rounded baseball.
  10. 1.5 back. Brewers better get out of this funk they are in right now. 3-4 in a 7 game span vs. Cincy and Pitt is unacceptable in a pennant chase. If we are any more than .5 back heading into the road trip we are in deep, deep trouble.
  11. Every time my hope for this team starts to come back, they come out with a game like this. While the road play is unexplainable, it is what will keep us from the division if we lose it. I figure we need to go 6-6 at worst the rest of the year on the road to win the division.
  12. Why is this an advantage for us when the Cubs play only one decent team the rest of the year HOME OR ROAD?? We have 10 games vs. .500+ teams, Cubs have 5.
  13. Didn't see that the SD series was a 4 gamer. I still don't think it's an easier schedule than the Cubs', considering we play more quality opponents and the Cubs home/road splits are minimal and ours are drastic.
  14. I actually figured out the breakdown today, only between Crew and Cubs: Including the Dodgers game today: Crew: 9 home, 13 away, .478 combined opponents winning %, 10 games vs. .500+ teams. Cubs: 8 home, 15 away, .455 combined opponents winning %, 5 games vs. .500+ teams. I think Cubs have it easier, mainly because they play at least decent baseball on the road and the Cards are the only team they play the remainder of the season that is .500 or better. Meanwhile, the Crew still has a 4 gamer at the Braves, and we all know they struggle mightily no matter where they play on the road. We will probably have to go 7-6 or better in my opinion on those remaining road games to win the division. With 4 of those at ATL, that will be a tough task. The other thing I do not like is that we finish the season against two teams who will still likely be in it, the Cards and Padres. Cubs have the Pirates and Marlins, two teams who have nothing to play for.
  15. Well, Yost has only 30 games left guys, so use that month wisely to rag on him. Then we can get a new manager to rag on once this team under performs our expectations again next year, for the billionth year in a row.
  16. Yet another disappointing series. I will say we split the homestand.
  17. You can see it in Yost's face. He knows he's done. Brewers played hard in this series. That's not good enough, however. Two more late inning blown pitching performances. 2.5 games made up with how this team is playing is more like 5 games.
  18. Those are bad, but we had bigger division leads than half of those teams. Granted, I know it's earlier in the season, but a 9 game lead is a 9 game lead. Also, if you look at total games swing, (right now we are at -11.5), I would like to see where we'd rank once the season is over.
  19. Nothing really to say that hasn't already been said. But I will say three things: 1. Tonight is a must win game. If you think we're making up 3.5 games in a month how we're playing, you're off your rocker. 2. Yost will be gone if we don't make the playoffs. To me, that's a 100% lead pipe lock. Mark A will have seen 130 games of inconsistent and really a majority of it garbage baseball, barring a turnaround. 3. If the Crew does not make the playoffs, this will easily go down as one of the top 10 collapses in baseball history.
  20. Amazingly, I have, somehow. Blind faith I guess. But I told myself if they lose this series I'm done. And that looks likely at this point. You could make an argument this is the worst collapse in ML history. What is the biggest drop from games above .500 to games under in a season anyway?
  21. Oh yeah, bye bye Yost.
  22. Only have to watch this team for two more games, most likely. Thank the lord above.
  23. No doubt. Football season cannot get here fast enough.
  24. Once the Cubs sweep us, maybe I will finally stop watching every game and caring so much. 14 games over .500 to .500 is absolutely amazing, in a terrible way. We'll be talking about next season only by Thursday.
  25. Is there anyone and I mean ANYONE that thinks we will turn it around whatsoever on the road? If so, please give me your evidence now. It will be the blown late games and the road record that keep us out of the playoffs, and really with our start, no matter how early, missing the playoffs this year is ABSOLUTELY AND POSITIVELY INEXCUSABLE!! There needs to be repercussions if this continues. Make it a half season at 9 games under .500.
