  1. Drew homers, 3-2 Dbacks. I won't be excited about that until this game is over.
  2. Saturday. "What is the day that Bonds was supposed to take off?"
  3. Misleading. "What is Chris Spurling's ERA?" Hall Activated, Spurling and Gwynn sent down. "What should Doug Melvin's next moves be?"
  4. This just in: The DBacks offense sucks.
  5. Owings is terrible. 80 pitches with no outs in the fourth inning? Unreal. Cubs have first and second no outs, bottom of the order up.
  6. Dbacks load the bases with one out, Reynolds pops out on the first pitch. Nice job bud. Then Hairston flies out. Yuck.
  7. No one on this planet. "Who hates the Cubs more than Luke?" Oh sorry, wrong thread. Gone 7 innings. "What has no Brewer starter done in what seems like light years?"
  8. I would like to run away with the division, personally. I would think the majority of Brewer fans agree.
  9. .500 the remainder would be 87 wins, but I agree with your general premise. I do think that looking at the West, it's going to take 90 to get the wild card. That would be slightly over .500 ball for the Brewers, Mets, Padres, Dodgers. You have to think 2 of those 4 teams will play better than .500 the rest of the way. And people keep saying the Cubs will fall off, well I sure hope those people start becoming right very soon.
  10. No one said he would be Santana. But first, he's a lefty, which we could definitely use another, and secondly he has much better stuff than Spurling does. He brings more to the table than Spurling does. Spurling does have a 3.03 ERA, but looking at his other numbers, that is misleading. I really hope they keep Parra up.
  11. Spurling is crap. If the Brewers goal is to win more games and lose less, they will keep Parra up and send Spurling to AAA. And no, I do not care if someone claims Spurling off waivers.
  12. Well, I'm getting pretty sick of the Cubs making up games on us. This team is not built to be coming from behind in a pennant race. Should never lose to a team this bad at home, ever.
  13. To me "injury-prone" means anyone that has shown a historical tendency to being injured, and to me it does not matter if that injury is related to lack of physical condition or just lack of luck. With basically 3.5 years of random injuries, it's time to add Sheets to that list. Regarding how it actually effects us, if he's out six weeks I think we are in a much bigger world of hurt than Nedly, obviously. If you pull Yo out of the pen you lose a reliable (granted small sample) option there, put more pressure on CV and the unproven Parra and Balfour. The pressure on all five starters rises to eat up innings as well. It's just majorly frustrating because the Sheets injuries tend to be backbreakers. With the Cubs breathing down our neck and essentially Bush being the only other consistent performer LATELY in the rotation, I think we should all be praying this is only a 2 week stint on the DL. Anyone know when today we will hear the news?
  14. Can we catch a break with the Cubs already? This is ridiculous.
  15. Feliz homers to tie it at 1-1 in the Cubs/Giants.
  16. This is our first series with Zona, so that makes the above post very curious indeed.
  17. I realize that bud. Just making a point about the game and it's effect on our lead and the possible tiebreaker. And I already did note that "these things happen throughout the season, just sucks it was against the Cubs".
  18. The Ramirez walk-off actually is a 2 game difference, not one. Cubs have one less win, one more loss, Crew has one more win, one less loss, for a total of 2 games. Crew would be 52-39 Cubs would be 46-44 Crew up by 5.5 Now I know that kind of stuff happens during the season, just sucks it was against Chicago.
  19. From what I understand, the first tiebreaker for a division championship is head to head winning % correct? With the Cubs being 7-5 vs. the Brewers so far, we'd have to sweep to win the tiebreaker with them. That Ramirez walk off win is looming so large right now. Not only has us 3.5 up instead of 5.5 up, but it pretty much eliminates us from winning the season series from Chicago (a sweep in our last series is unlikely).
  20. Horribly managed game. This team loves to limp into the AS break, and then completely fall apart in the 2nd half. Hopefully the latter does not happen this year.
  21. Oh my lord was that ball absolutely destroyed.
