  1. Wow. Talk about getting owned in the first inning.
  2. Man, that sucks, would have scored the run.
  3. Grand Slam by Dmitri Young. 6-0 Nationals in the 5th.
  4. Can we really expect the Cubs rotation to keep this up? All but Zambrano is pitching above their career averages with regards to ERA. Now, I know ERA is not the only tool used to measure pitching performance, but as of today: Zambrano: 4.04 ERA Career: 3.20 ERA Hill: 3.49 ERA Career: 4.40 ERA Lilly: 3.84 ERA Career: 4.52 ERA Marquis: 3.31 ERA Career: 4.42 ERA Marshall: 3.50 ERA Career: 5.02 ERA All but Zambrano are also ahead of their career averages in WHIP as well. Is this information irrelevant, or does it bode well for the Crew in the 2nd half? Cubs currently have 80% of their rotation bettering their career ERA's by .70+. Meanwhile, the Crew has Sheets (.58 under career ERA) and Vargas (.55 under career ERA) ahead of their career norms, while Suppan, Bush, and Capuano are all below their career averages.
  5. Watching Suppan pitch is like pulling teeth. High pitch counts every batter and he can't put guys away.
  6. Was hoping Cappy would get the start Sunday. Bush hanging his curveballs in Wrigley scares me. Thankfully he's matched with a guy we can also mash, Marquis.
  7. I said 13-6 the 19 games before the break, currently sitting at 6-1. 7-5 definitely more than reasonable with the remaining schedule, and in fact I think I'd probably be slightly disappointed with that. I'll say 8-4 the next 12. Sweep Houston Lose 2 of 3 to the Cubs 3-1 vs. Pitt 2-1 vs. Washington 52-36 at the break.
  8. Pagan HR, Cubs up 4-1 in the first.
  9. That's what you get for walking people Vargas. Good lord what a meltdown.
  10. Why wouldn't Yost give Hardy the day off tomorrow if he's going to do so, since we have 06/21 off? Would give him two days off. I do not like Graffy or Counsell at the top of the order.
  11. Gotta love it. KC up 3-1 on the Cards and still batting in the 2nd.
  12. Anyone know what Yo's PC limit is tonight, if there is one?
  13. Just curious, what signs have the Cubs shown of going on a dominating stretch? Especially when you add Ramirez/Lee will both be out together for at least 5 games?
  14. I'm hoping for a 7-2 homestand, with one sweep out of those series. We miss the aces in all three series (if you consider Cain SF's ace), and we do have the top record in the NL at home. 7-2 may be a lot to ask for however. I'll say a 6-4 road trip, winning 1 of 3 at Cubs, 3 of 4 at Pitt, and 2 of 3 at Washington. I'm going optimistic here. The bats are waking up. 13-6.
  15. Two chances to tie this without a hit. HAVE TO AT LEAST TIE IT!! I want the win in regulation though.
  16. Is my sportstracker online wrong or did Prince just hit an inside the park HR?
  17. When Lew Ford is owning you, you're not very good. Suppan's worst outing of the year BY FAR.
  18. Well, this one is over. Thanks a lot for being crappy Suppan. Wow.
  19. 5 LOB in 2 innings, unbelievable. Come on guys!
  20. Padres put up 2 first inning runs on Rich Hill. Nice.
