    This whole season is bittersweet. Every big game Benny has, every bomb Prince hits, you just know that there aren't that many left while they are playing for the good guys.

    I don't think Prince wants to play here for any extended period of time anyway, no matter how much he's getting paid. His body will deteriorate over time and injuries will start cropping up. Besides, 3TO can play 1B, right? I really hope they didn't lowball Hart with his offer and make him less receptive to any future contract talks. And agreed on TH doing an awful job by keeping these things quiet.

    I think a lot of the booing was more because Ned took out 3TO for Hall. Hall hasn't gotten too many boos lately, but when you take out the guy who crushed a HR earlier, fans will boo. Good DP, prevented the game from being tied after the HR.

    Branyan needs to make the all-star team so all the other NL all stars can tell their grandkids that they got to play alongside 3TO, at least for one game. Plus you know he'd just be there all relaxed and not starstruck like the other guys.

    I also agree that Hart should be the next to get offered a nice long-term deal (with Gallardo to follow if he comes back and has a heathly first half of 09). I'd think a deal for Hart would be a win-win - the Brewers lock up a great player (and person) and Hart gets some security for his family which I'm sure is very important to him. But I'm sure with each HR he hits and with each great game, the price goes up and the chances he'd rather just wait until arbitration also increase. I'd say if it's not done within a month, it's probably not getting done anytime soon.

    Jeff Bennett didn't do much for us when he was here, guess he's finally starting to earn some of that contract.

    Most all recent (last 20 or so years) papers are worth very little. Everyone who wanted one usually saved one (or 10) and so there is not much market for them.
